Any thoughts or impressions of my final two names [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] and [name_f]Celia[/name_f] would be appreciated. I’m leaning one way but I’d love to hear some ideas that might help me finalize my decision.
Also just saw [name_f]Suzette[/name_f] online and thought that sounded pretty. Thoughts or nickname ideas on that one?
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] and [name_f]Celia[/name_f] are gorgeous. I love [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]'s girly air! [name_f]Celia[/name_f] has a beautiful, refined sound, and I think the meaning is lovely!
I’m not a fan of [name_f]Suzette[/name_f], I find it sounds rather dated.
I really appreciate that feedback, thank you!! Sometimes you see these last minute ideas and you need someone to say “nope” stick with what you have. Lol! ”
I prefer [name_f]Elise[/name_f] to [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] and [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] to [name_f]Celia[/name_f], but between the two I prefer [name_f]Celia[/name_f]. Nicknames for [name_f]Suzette[/name_f]: [name_f]Suzie[/name_f], [name_f]Ettie[/name_f], [name_f]Etta[/name_f], Zet, [name_f]Zettie[/name_f], [name_f]Zetta[/name_f], Zie.
I would have to say [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] over [name_f]Celia[/name_f]! However I also love the similar names [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] and [name_f]Delia[/name_f] :).
Not a fan of [name_f]Suzette[/name_f] sorry :(. Sounds very dated and random.
I love both names! [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] and [name_f]Celia[/name_f] I mean…[name_f]Suzette[/name_f] is not my style
I’m going to vote [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] for a few reasons. [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] has amazing nickname potential, it’s classic, underused…just a great name. Plus the [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] books are just too cute.
[name_f]Celia[/name_f] has a beautiful meaning but it reminds me of cilia…like tiny nose hairs :-?
It has all the same letters as [name_f]Alice[/name_f] though and I love [name_f]Alice[/name_f]!
I prefer [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] over [name_f]Celia[/name_f]. I know [name_f]Celia[/name_f] is a full name on its own, but I prefer it as a nn for [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]/[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f].
[name_f]Suzette[/name_f] is very dated. [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is ravishing and ready for a revival, though.
I prefer [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] over [name_f]Celia[/name_f] but I would prefer either [name_f]Elise[/name_f] or [name_f]Cecilie[/name_f] to be honest. I actually like [name_f]Suzette[/name_f] and its nicknames [name_f]Suzie[/name_f] and [name_f]Ettie[/name_f]! A Dutch nickname for [name_f]Suzette[/name_f]/[name_f]Susan[/name_f] would be [name_f]Suze[/name_f] (pronounced something like [name_f]Su[/name_f]-zuh). [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!
I’m a [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] and [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] fan - I do like [name_f]Celia[/name_f] but for some reason, it seems a bit too straight-laced than the others which are more outgoing and artsy to me. I am glad to say I love [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], but I really dislike [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] - it’s a slothful name in my mind. [name_f]Suzette[/name_f] is quite cool - I suspect it and others like [name_f]Linda[/name_f], [name_f]Alison[/name_f], [name_f]Lynne[/name_f] and [name_f]Barbara[/name_f] will be back soon! [name_f]Suzette[/name_f] sooner as has the contemporary -ette ending.
We are also considering [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], my only hesitation is that people will call her Weezy and it will drive me bonkers. I haven’t decided if that’s a deal breaker for me yet. I think [name_f]Celia[/name_f] is gorgeous, so refined and feminine. And if you wanted a super youthful nickname you could call her [name_f]Cece[/name_f]. You really can’t go wrong. Good luck with your little one’s arrival!
I love [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]! There isn’t anything wrong with [name_f]Celia[/name_f] or [name_f]Suzette[/name_f], I’ve just never been fond of them. In reply to @nemama I think an [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] would be nn [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] quicker than Weezy.
I like [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] a lot. It is spunky but stylish to me. I also love [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. [name_f]Celia[/name_f] is fine but doesn’t do anything for me personally. It is a very clean and feminine name to me but not a ton of character–but probably just my associations.
