I’m so undecisive that this girls top 5 changes continuously whilst the boys is fairly short and unchanged with [name_u]Henry[/name_u] and [name_u]Evan[/name_u] pretty much always staying at the top .I think these are my final results, honest opinions are welcome :
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] ;
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] ;
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] ;
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] ;
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] / [name_u]Florence[/name_u] (so undecisive can’t even make a top 5 without turning it to a top 6 ).
Great list!! Spunky, elegant, feminine, a bit of a mid-century modernist, sharp corners vibe.
Fave to least:
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] (love this name!! [name_u]Love[/name_u] the Pride & Prejudice association, the vowel ending, the z in there; short and snappy, peppy; I picture someone self-assured, outgoing, smart, bookish)
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] (a personal fave of mine, love the slightly nerdy sound)
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] (would be so excited to meet a [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] in real life – never have! Nickname [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] is fun too)
[name_u]Florence[/name_u] (I’d choose this over Felicity!)
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] (seems a bit more bland than the other names on your list)
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]: bright, strong, sparky and lovely - classic but with kick. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the nn potential
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]: distinctive, international and stylish
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]: clear, bright and lovely (however, I much prefer the Clar-uh pn over the claire-uh one)
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]: sweet, sharp and fresh - love it!
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] / [name_u]Florence[/name_u]: how do I choose between these two! [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] is light, pretty and cheerful with funky nn options. [name_u]Florence[/name_u] is elegant, strong and sophisticated but with gentleness too. Depends on where you are but if popularity bothers you, [name_u]Florence[/name_u] is v popular in the UK
I know that it’s popular in the UK as is [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] as of recently but I’ve only ever met one but no one I know is old enough for children so idk about future name trends ! I don’t want to use names where there will be multiple in one class (I’m scared about Matilda’s growing popularity since it was apparently top 55 last year) but even the most popular names there was max 2 in the whole year group of apart from one common name where there was 7 of them in the year group and there wasn’t a single [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] (the most popular name) so there is no predicting name trends !
this is very true! working with teens and kids, it’s interesting to note how often there are very few kids with the most popular names - and then very randomly multiple of less common ones (like the multiple Kaias, H0neys and Carys’ in the year group I worked with last year ) I just couldn’t decide between Florence and Felicity and that was the only potential drawback I could think of
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] and really like [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] (as long as [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is Clah-ra). Don’t like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] (though I love [name_f]Tilda[/name_f] as a stand-alone). [name_u]Florence[/name_u] is nice but way too popular.
[name_f]My[/name_f] very favorites are [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f], followed by [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. I think all three names are classic and beautiful, and will age well too!
I also usually much prefer [name_u]Florence[/name_u] to [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], but with your list I feel [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] just flows so much better! It’s very lighthearted, girly, and sweet, which is how I view the rest of your list as well (as opposed to the stoic, grown-up Florence)
I’ve never been a big fan of [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], that being said I feel like it does fit your list. It’s definitely my least favorite of your 5-6, but if you love it, it fits very well!
