Thoughts on my list? [Boys' Edition]

I’ve been revamping my list for a very long time now (a year plus?), and I’m finally starting to have a list of favorites emerge. However, I’m hoping to narrow it down to a top 20 per gender (at least!), and, after weeding out the ones I’m lukewarm on, I’m left with this list of 31 names I really love. (And even that I’m not sure of, because I’m still debating about [name_u]Auguste[/name_u] “Auggie” and [name_m]Ian[/name_m], and I’m always discovering boys’ names I love!)

I’m listing my long-ish list below–I’d love your opinions on the names (each of them, if you have time, but I know it’s long!), and which you’d recommend axing? I will say, though, that at this point, I’m not too concerned with similar names (I know there’s a lot of them!) or popularity (although I’m really never concerned with popularity!). I’m listing nns behind each name, especially if they’re a little less-expected?

Family names are italicized.

Thanks, Berries!

My honest opinions on each name, but remember opinions are just opinions! If you love a name, you should go for it, no matter what anyone else thinks. I hope this helps a little!

[name_u]Addison[/name_u] - Seems really feminine too me, but that may be because I know several girls named [name_u]Addison[/name_u] but no boys.

[name_m]Amias[/name_m] - Never heard this name, but I don’t hate it. Doesn’t roll off the tongue the way I would like though.

[name_m]Andreas[/name_m] - I’ve always like this name, and the nickname for it too.

[name_u]Avery[/name_u] - I think [name_u]Avery[/name_u] I super cute

[name_m]Boaz[/name_m] “[name_u]Bo[/name_u]” - Not in love with it, the spelling is weird to me

[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] - Can’t go wrong with this one

[name_m]Casper[/name_m] “[name_m]Cap/name_m/[name_m]Cas[/name_m]” - Absolutely love [name_m]Casper[/name_m], it’s on my list, but I’m not sure I’m brave enough to choose it for my own son!

[name_m]Daniel[/name_m] - Classic, will probably grow up with tons of other [name_m]Daniels[/name_m] though.

[name_u]Darby[/name_u] - Cute, never met one.

[name_m]Declan[/name_m] - Not too sure about [name_m]Declan[/name_m]. It’s not the worst or best I’ve ever heard

[name_m]Desmond[/name_m] - Again, it’s just okay to me. Leaning towards not liking it more than liking it

[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] - I really like this one. I’ve only ever known a woman named [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], but I think it’s adorable for a boy too

[name_u]Everett[/name_u] - Another one I’m lukewarm too

[name_m]Grant[/name_m] - I like the name [name_m]Grant[/name_m], it’s a well-known name but you don’t run across one very often

[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] - [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]

[name_m]Jack[/name_m] - I love the name [name_m]Jack[/name_m], it’s a good, solid, classic name. My only issue with it is, you have to be okay with your son being “[name_m]Jack[/name_m] A” or “[name_m]Jack[/name_m] B” or whatever your last initial is

[name_m]Judah[/name_m]- [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Judah[/name_m], I think it’s adorable.

[name_m]Leo[/name_m] - Really love [name_m]Leo[/name_m]! It’s on my list too. Not sure if I would use just [name_m]Leo[/name_m] or use [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] instead, but either way it’s cute!

[name_m]Mathis[/name_m] (mah-TEES) - [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like this one much at all

[name_m]Peter[/name_m] - Not a big fan of [name_m]Peter[/name_m], but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it

[name_m]Reef[/name_m] - Least favorite of the list

[name_m]Reuben[/name_m] “Reu/[name_m]Ben[/name_m]” - Not crazy about it but nothing wrong with it, just not my style

[name_u]Rory[/name_u] - Cute, I hear this name often but I’ve never met one

[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] ("[name_u]Rory[/name_u]"?) - Prefer [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] to [name_u]Rory[/name_u], actually.

[name_m]Samuel[/name_m] “[name_u]Sam/name_u” - I’ve always like [name_u]Sammy[/name_u] better for girls named [name_f]Samantha[/name_f], but that’s probably just me, nothing wrong with the name [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]

[name_u]Schuyler[/name_u] “Schuy ([name_u]Sky[/name_u])” I like [name_u]Sky[/name_u], but prefer [name_u]Skylar[/name_u].

[name_m]Seamus[/name_m] - Sounds like an old man’s name to me, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing

[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] “[name_m]Seb/name_m” - One of my absolute favorite names. Heavily considering this one myself.

[name_m]Sumner[/name_m] - Not loving it

[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] - I think having a little [name_m]Tommy[/name_m] would be cute

[name_m]Zane[/name_m] - I have a negative association with someone named [name_m]Zane[/name_m], so I can’t really give a fair opinion on this one

I love the majority of them. The only few I am not too keen on are [name_m]Andreas[/name_m], [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], [name_m]Desmond[/name_m], [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] (though I love the nickname [name_m]Ben[/name_m]), [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] & [name_m]Zane[/name_m].

I personally would ax away [name_m]Reuben[/name_m], mainly because all I can think of is the sandwich.

On an unrelated note, I might not like [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] but in your signature, you mention the full name of [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] [name_m]Torin[/name_m]. I really love the name [name_m]Torin[/name_m] and I think it has pretty good flow

I like [name_u]Avery[/name_u], [name_u]Everett[/name_u], and [name_m]Grant[/name_m]
I love [name_u]Schuyler[/name_u], [name_m]Desmond[/name_m], [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], and [name_m]Declan[/name_m]
I do like [name_m]Ian[/name_m], but, you might like [name_m]Cian[/name_m] / [name_m]Kian[/name_m] better.

[name_u]Addison[/name_u]: I really like this one, and I love when boys get back names traditionally masculine. However, I admit I wouldn’t be brave enough to use [name_u]Addison[/name_u] as a first name while is still so popular for girls. But I do use it as middle name. Something like [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Addison[/name_u] or [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] [name_u]Addison[/name_u].

[name_m]Amias[/name_m]: I like it, but only if it’s pronounced “[name_m]Ah[/name_m]-mee-as”, because “um-EYE-us” is too similar to [name_f]Amaia[/name_f], a spanish girl name. It would be delightful to meet a little [name_m]Amias[/name_m].

[name_m]Andreas[/name_m]: I know that [name_u]Andrea[/name_u] and [name_m]Andreas[/name_m] are boy names, and even the meaning is related to masculinity, but to me, it will be always girly. Anyway, I don’t really like how it sounds.

[name_u]Avery[/name_u]: This name is indifferent to me. It’s nice, and a safe choice. I find [name_u]Avery[/name_u] much more masculine that femenine.

[name_m]Boaz[/name_m] “[name_u]Bo[/name_u]”: I adore [name_u]Bo[/name_u] as a nickname, and also [name_u]Beau[/name_u]. But I don’t like [name_m]Boaz[/name_m].

[name_m]Caleb[/name_m]: absolutely handsome. It’s always a pleasure to see [name_m]Caleb[/name_m]. I really hope you keep this one, because I’d like to see [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] in one of your unexpected and handsome combos.

[name_m]Casper[/name_m] “[name_m]Cap/name_m/[name_m]Cas[/name_m]”: One of my favorite boys names. I love [name_m]Casper[/name_m], its old-fashioned, European feeling. It’s a handicap the association with the ghost, but it’s not really something bad, and probably a lot of kids nowadays don’t know who is he. Cappy is the cutest nickname for a baby and a toddler, and [name_m]Cas[/name_m] give a more “modern” vibe to the name.

[name_m]Daniel[/name_m]: It’s a nice name, and I used to have it on my list. Not my favorite name, but it’s always a safe, nice choice.

[name_u]Darby[/name_u]: It’s nice, and I’ve never heard about it before. I think I’m too fond in [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] that [name_u]Darby[/name_u] doesn’t sound completely right to me, but still, is a nice name. Your [name_u]Darby[/name_u] [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] is very catchy, I would call the boy [name_u]Darby[/name_u] [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] or [name_u]Darby[/name_u] [name_m]Dan[/name_m] a lot.

[name_m]Declan[/name_m]: It’s very 80s to me. It’s fine, but I don’t find it has handsome as [name_m]Amias[/name_m] or [name_m]Casper[/name_m], for example.

[name_m]Desmond[/name_m]: same feeling as [name_m]Declan[/name_m].

[name_u]Ellis[/name_u]: [name_u]Love[/name_u] this one! As [name_u]Addison[/name_u], but this time, I do would use [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] as first name.

[name_u]Everett[/name_u]: a safe choice, but not my favorite.

[name_m]Grant[/name_m]: this one is very nice. Maybe it sounds a bit dated, but I love how strong it sounds.

[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]: another favorite of mine. I can imagine [name_m]Amias[/name_m], [name_m]Casper[/name_m] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] being brothers.

[name_m]Jack[/name_m]: probably my most favorite boy name ever. I just adore [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. It’s short, strong, manly but fresh. To me, [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is a energetic boy, a friendly soul. And I adore how you use [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. Your [name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] was stunning, and [name_m]Amias[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is also a 10/10.

[name_m]Judah[/name_m]: there’s something about -ah names that bothers me.

[name_m]Leo[/name_m]: sweet and short. I like it. [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] would make a wonderful sibset.

[name_m]Mathis[/name_m]: I really like this as a middle name. For first name I much prefer [name_m]Matthias[/name_m] or [name_m]Mateo[/name_m].

[name_m]Peter[/name_m]: Another classic. [name_m]Peter[/name_m] reminds me to [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Pan[/name_m] and [name_m]Peter[/name_m] Pevensie, and brings me really nice childhood memories. I would like to see you using [name_m]Peter[/name_m].

[name_m]Reef[/name_m]: Never heard it as a name, and I don’t really like it, but I think it could work as a middle name.

[name_m]Reuben[/name_m] “Reu/[name_m]Ben[/name_m]”: [name_m]Ben[/name_m] as a nickname for [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] is a 10/10.

[name_u]Rory[/name_u]: also one of my favorites, so I can say anything bad about it.

[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]: yay, please use this one. I remember I had [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] on my list, but I can’t remember the combo. It’s really handsome, and [name_u]Rory[/name_u] would be a nice nickname.

[name_m]Samuel[/name_m] “[name_u]Sam/name_u”: I’m ok with [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], but I do love [name_u]Sam[/name_u].

[name_u]Schuyler[/name_u] “Schuy”: I love when I see the traditional spelling. I think [name_u]Schuyler[/name_u] would be a perfect middle name.

[name_m]Seamus[/name_m]: It’s a nice name.

[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] “[name_m]Seb/name_m”: I have to lov this one. It’s classic and familiar, and I only know one [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] (and my late great-grandfather). [name_m]Seb[/name_m] and Sebby are not my favorite nicknames. I much prefer [name_m]Bas[/name_m] or [name_m]Bastian[/name_m].

[name_m]Sumner[/name_m]: what’s the origin of [name_m]Sumner[/name_m]? I remember [name_f]Summer[/name_f] from your signature, and I was delighful to see it on a boy. Your [name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] was awesome. Anyway, [name_m]Sumner[/name_m] sounds a bit more “manly”.

[name_m]Thomas[/name_m]: other of my favorites traditionals names. I love [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] even more than [name_m]Tom[/name_m], and I know [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] with an unexpected middle name would be awesome.

[name_m]Zane[/name_m]: not very fond of this one.

So, to sum up:

I adore: [name_m]Amias[/name_m], [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_m]Casper[/name_m], [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_m]Grant[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Peter[/name_m], [name_m]Reuben[/name_m], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_m]Sumner[/name_m] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m].

I would get rid of: [name_m]Andreas[/name_m], [name_m]Boaz[/name_m] and [name_m]Reef[/name_m]

[name_u]Addison[/name_u] - nice, I like that you’d want it on a boy.
[name_m]Amias[/name_m] - it’s ok
[name_m]Andreas[/name_m] - it’s ok
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] - nice
[name_m]Boaz[/name_m] “[name_u]Bo[/name_u]” - nice
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] - nice, though it had such a surge in popularity in the UK about 10 years ago I find it a bit boring now.
[name_m]Casper[/name_m] “[name_m]Cap/name_m/[name_m]Cas[/name_m]” - I prefer [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]
[name_m]Daniel[/name_m] - it’s ok, bit standard
[name_u]Darby[/name_u] - it’s ok, I prefer [name_u]Darcy[/name_u]
[name_m]Declan[/name_m] - lovely
[name_m]Desmond[/name_m] - nice
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] - nice
[name_u]Everett[/name_u] - lovely, one of my favourite names
[name_m]Grant[/name_m] - very nice
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] - lovely
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] - very nice
[name_m]Judah[/name_m] - nice, I prefer [name_m]Jonah[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] - very nice
[name_m]Mathis[/name_m] (mah-TEES) - nice, but I think I prefer Mathai (mah-tye) or [name_m]Matthias[/name_m] (muh-thy/tye-as)
[name_m]Peter[/name_m] - nice
[name_m]Reef[/name_m] - nice
[name_m]Reuben[/name_m] “Reu/[name_m]Ben[/name_m]” - lovely
[name_u]Rory[/name_u] - lovely, I adore [name_u]Rory[/name_u] on a boy
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] ("[name_u]Rory[/name_u]"?) - [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] is lovely, I don’t think I like [name_u]Rory[/name_u] as a nickname for it, but it does sort of work. Both names are lovely.
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m] “[name_u]Sam/name_u” - again nice but a bit standard
[name_u]Schuyler[/name_u] “Schuy ([name_u]Sky[/name_u])” - I like the name, but I really don’t like that spelling.
[name_m]Seamus[/name_m] - lovely
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] “[name_m]Seb/name_m” - lovely
[name_m]Sumner[/name_m] - nice but I don’t love it
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] - nice, bit standard
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] - eh, it’s ok

I would get rid of [name_m]Zane[/name_m], [name_m]Amias[/name_m] and [name_m]Andreas[/name_m] if it were up to me. And replace [name_m]Casper[/name_m] with [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] and [name_u]Darby[/name_u] with [name_u]Darcy[/name_u].

[name_u]Addison[/name_u] - I usually take a pretty classic stance when it comes to gender of names and typically like traditional boy names to stay on boys, however [name_u]Addison[/name_u] is one of my exceptions. I love [name_u]Addison[/name_u] on a girl and based on my experience with my son and being around littles so often, I can’t even imagine it on a boy anymore, which I do think would make it hard for one born in this decade. I prefer [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] to [name_u]Addison[/name_u] FWIW.

[name_m]Amias[/name_m] - I like this name in theory. It’s got a lovely meaning and a nice sound, however it would be tricky to pull off on an actual child. It sounds made-up (I know it’s not!) but many people will think it is. That might not bother you in the slightest but it’s something to consider, especially for an adult filling out applications, etc.

[name_m]Andreas[/name_m] - This is sort of lumped together with what I said about [name_m]Amias[/name_m]. I prefer just the traditional [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] or [name_m]Anders[/name_m].

[name_u]Avery[/name_u] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Avery[/name_u]! I know many think it’s ‘gone to the girls’ but I just think of the handsome Dr. [name_u]Avery[/name_u] on [name_u]Grey[/name_u]'s Anatomy (yes, it’s his LN but 95% of the time he goes by just [name_u]Avery[/name_u]) and I love it on a boy! I do see teasing in high school about it being similar to the word ‘ovary’ but that’s a short period of time haha!

[name_m]Boaz[/name_m] - Oh the teasing potential! I don’t know if you’ve ever seen that image that is constantly shared on FB (at least by my friends!) “While you’re waiting for your [name_m]Boaz[/name_m], don’t settle for any of his relatives - Lying-az, Cheating-az, Lazy-az, etc.” so now I only see and hear ‘ass’ unfortunately!

[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] - I like [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] fine. We live in a large Jewish community so my son has a few kids in his play group that speak both English and Hebrew and whenever a dog comes to our play dates they say “[name_m]Caleb[/name_m]! [name_m]Caleb[/name_m]!” so the name is pretty ruined for me now.

[name_m]Casper[/name_m] - the friendly ghost! LOL. I like [name_m]Casper[/name_m]! I’m not so sure about [name_m]Cap[/name_m] or [name_m]Cas[/name_m] though.

[name_m]Daniel[/name_m] - I love [name_m]Daniel[/name_m]! I don’t like the nn [name_m]Dan[/name_m] which is what every [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] eventually becomes so that is why I would never use it.

[name_u]Darby[/name_u] - I’m lukewarm about this. I like it but it seems almost like a character name and I can’t quite picture it on an actual child/person.

[name_m]Declan[/name_m] - [name_m]Declan[/name_m] is nice. It doesn’t roll off the tongue as nice as it looks on paper which is unfortunate. I do love that it’s a -lyn sounding name that has in no way gone to the girls!

[name_m]Desmond[/name_m] - Not a fan, sorry.

[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] - [name_u]Love[/name_u]! I love the historical ties to the name ([name_u]Ellis[/name_u] Island) and just the overall sound.

[name_u]Everett[/name_u] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] this too! [name_u]Everett[/name_u] is so strong and handsome while flowing so nicely when it’s said.

[name_m]Grant[/name_m] - I like [name_m]Grant[/name_m]. I know a 30-year-old with the name and a 4-year-old with the name and it works great on both so that’s a plus.

[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] - It’s a no from me. I wish I liked [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], since [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] is a family name for me, but try as I might I can’t imagine it on a child/teen/young adult - at least an American, because I can see it being quite cute on a European child!

[name_m]Jack[/name_m] - It’s okay. There are so many Jacksons nn [name_m]Jack[/name_m] that it has lost it’s luster for me. I think most people would assume his name is [name_m]Jackson[/name_m].

[name_m]Judah[/name_m] - [name_f]Adore[/name_f]! [name_m]Judah[/name_m] is one of my favorite biblical names.

[name_m]Leo[/name_m] - [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is nice. I think [name_m]Leo[/name_m] with [name_m]Judah[/name_m] would be cool with unexpected biblical ties (lion of [name_m]Judah[/name_m]). [name_m]Leo[/name_m] just sort of lacks something imo.

[name_m]Mathis[/name_m] - Sorry, I can’t see this on a person. Unless you’re European and not in an English speaking country, then I just don’t think it will work that well [name_m]IRL[/name_m]. He will be called math-iss and quickly nn [name_m]Matt[/name_m].

[name_m]Peter[/name_m] - Okay. I know too many men who refer to their private parts as peter and johnson for me to ever consider those names.

[name_m]Reef[/name_m] - This is cool! It reminds me of a surfer. Very laid back and relaxed. I like it a lot.

[name_m]Reuben[/name_m] - I have only ever met Spanish speaking people with this name and they pronounce it “roo-[name_m]BEN[/name_m]” It’s not my favorite.

[name_u]Rory[/name_u] - All girl to me! I love it as a nn for [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].

[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] - I love [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]! I don’t like it with the nn [name_u]Rory[/name_u] though, I much prefer it as is.

[name_m]Samuel[/name_m] - Obviously my favorite! My son is [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] nn [name_u]Sam[/name_u]/[name_u]Sammy[/name_u] and I still adore it to this day. I think I like it more now than I did when I named him. We never have spelling or pronunciation issues and I just love the sweet simplicity of it.

[name_u]Schuyler[/name_u] - I like this on a boy! I really like this spelling. I have only ever met one boy who spelled it like this and people constantly called him shoe-ler and eventually got the nn Shoe.

[name_m]Seamus[/name_m] - Unless you’re Irish and really identify with your heritage then I have trouble imaging this used.

[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] - I am one of the few who really dislikes [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]. I don’t see the appeal. I know many more dogs than people with this name!

[name_m]Sumner[/name_m] - This will always be confused with [name_f]Summer[/name_f] and people will assume it is a spelling mistake. It also is difficult to say imo.

[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] - This is my least favorite [name_m]New[/name_m] Testament name. [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] the Train rules at my house so that’s also a turn off for me, LOL!

[name_m]Zane[/name_m] - [name_m]Zane[/name_m] seems too made-up! I don’t like the current X/Z trend for boys names.

[name_u]Addison[/name_u] - adore
[name_m]Amias[/name_m] - neutral
[name_m]Andreas[/name_m] - neutral
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] - like
[name_m]Boaz[/name_m] “[name_u]Bo[/name_u]” - neutral
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] - adore
[name_m]Casper[/name_m] “[name_m]Cap/name_m/[name_m]Cas[/name_m]” - too friendly ghost, prefer [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] (adore)

[name_m]Thomas[/name_m]

Also, I know a boy named [name_u]Darby[/name_u], and it fits him super well! It is nms, but is definitely wearable.

Good luck

[name_u]Addison[/name_u] - I know it’s unisex, but I only like it on girls. I’ve also only met girls with the name, so that’s probably influenced how I see it. It’s not a huge favorite of mine though.
[name_m]Amias[/name_m] - Dislike. Not sure how it would be pronounced.
[name_m]Andreas[/name_m] - It’s okay. Prefer the more classic [name_m]Andrew[/name_m].
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] - Another unisex name I prefer on girls, but I think it works well on either gender.
[name_m]Boaz[/name_m] “[name_u]Bo[/name_u]” - Like the Biblical origin, but not really a fan.
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] - Nice, classic, ages well.
[name_m]Casper[/name_m] “[name_m]Cap/name_m/[name_m]Cas[/name_m]” - Dislike. I can only think of [name_m]Casper[/name_m] the Friendly Ghost when I hear it haha.
[name_m]Daniel[/name_m] - One of my favorites.
[name_u]Darby[/name_u] - Preferon a girl, but not a huge fan either way. Always thought it sounded odd.
[name_m]Declan[/name_m] - Nice, but not a favorite.
[name_m]Desmond[/name_m] - Never liked this one for some reason.
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] - Nice.
[name_u]Everett[/name_u] - I do like this one a lot.
[name_m]Grant[/name_m] - Never liked it, not sure why.
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] - It’s okay, but prefer [name_m]Hugh[/name_m].
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] - I like it. I think it works well on its own or as a nickname.
[name_m]Judah[/name_m] - Nice, but prefer [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. Or even [name_m]Judah[/name_m] nn [name_u]Jude[/name_u].
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] - Okay, but prefer it as a nickname.
[name_m]Mathias[/name_m] - Dislike. I think it is likely to have pronunciation issues. I do like [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] though.
[name_m]Peter[/name_m] - Really like this one.
[name_m]Reef[/name_m] - Dislike.
[name_m]Reuben[/name_m] “Reu/[name_m]Ben[/name_m]” - [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] nn Reu.
[name_u]Rory[/name_u] - I like it on its own or as a nickname.
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] “[name_u]Rory[/name_u]” - I like [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], but not sure how [name_u]Rory[/name_u] would be a nickname.
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m] “[name_u]Sam/name_u” - It’s okay, but always though I was a bit plain.
[name_u]Schuyler[/name_u] “Schuy ([name_u]Sky[/name_u])” - Dislike. I know how to pronounce it, but I don’t think everyone will.
[name_m]Seamus[/name_m] - Never liked it.
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] “[name_m]Seb/name_m” - As with [name_m]Casper[/name_m], I can only think of the crab in [name_m]Little[/name_m] Mermaid.
[name_m]Sumner[/name_m] - Dislike.
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] - Same as with [name_m]Samuel[/name_m].
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] - Okay, but not a favorite.

Thanks so much, everyone! I’m bumping this up to share that family names are now italicized in the OP, if that sways any votes.

I’m also axing [name_u]Addison[/name_u]–I love him a lot, but I’d been feeling rather lukewarm to him before making the post, and all your comments are just confirming it for me–thanks to your comments, and hopefully about 10 more to come, soon, haha! Anyone else want to jump in?

@ashleyjuliette - thanks for the suggestion, but I’ve never much been a fan of [name_m]Cian[/name_m]/[name_m]Kian[/name_m], unfortunately! Weirdly, I love [name_m]Ian[/name_m], and [name_m]Killian[/name_m], but not [name_m]Kian[/name_m]? It’s weird. lol.

Of course I am the opposite since I love [name_m]Cian[/name_m] and dislike [name_m]Killian[/name_m] and grew tired of [name_m]Ian[/name_m]. I still like [name_m]Ian[/name_m].
