Thoughts on my list? [Boys]

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries! It’s been a while!

I’ve been rather uninspired with my lists lately, so I’m hoping to get some thoughts on my list as it stands (I’ve recently gone through and axed everything I KNOW doesn’t bring me joy lol!), and maybe any recommendations that you think might suit me.

[name_m]Caspar[/name_m] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_u]Aquila[/name_u] [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] [name_u]Grey[/name_u]
[name_m]Boaz[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m] [name_u]Henry[/name_u] “Bo”
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] [middles to be determined]
[name_m]Lorcan[/name_m] [middles to be determined]
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] [name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_u]George[/name_u]
[name_u]Augustine[/name_u] [maybe [name_u]Augustine[/name_u] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] Elliot]
[name_m]Barnabas[/name_m] [name_m]Lion[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] “Barnes/Ben”
[name_u]Judah[/name_u] [name_m]Théophile[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u]
[name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] [name_u]Fife[/name_u]
[name_u]Asa[/name_u] [middles to be determined]
[name_m]Reuben[/name_m] [middles to be determined; possibly [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] Greystoke something-or-other]

I may re-add [name_m]Reef[/name_m] [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] [name_u]Elias[/name_u] if I miss him too much, and [name_m]Peter[/name_m] will likely get added to this list; [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] [name_m]Bram[/name_m] “Mac” and [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] [name_m]Amias[/name_m] are also maybes… but could really just use some fresh inspiration! I usually try to keep about a top 20 for each gender, so my list feels so small right now! I especially love rare Bible names (!!!), European names (Irish/German), literary-inspired names, Christianity-inspired names, etc., for boys. Anyway, thoughts or recommendations?

Thank you, berries!

I have always enjoyed your lists! [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] is lovely, as are [name_m]Boaz[/name_m], [name_m]Andreas[/name_m], [name_u]Augustine[/name_u], [name_u]Asa[/name_u], [name_u]Fife[/name_u], [name_m]Bram[/name_m], [name_m]Lion[/name_m], and [name_u]Theophile[/name_u] (though I prefer [name_m]Theophilus[/name_m], personally) and I think [name_m]Lorcan[/name_m], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], and [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] would be a great sibset.

[name_m]Casper[/name_m] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_m]Boaz[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m] [name_u]Henry[/name_u], & [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] are my favorites! Your names are great. I love [name_m]Barnabas[/name_m] & [name_u]Augustine[/name_u] as well.

[name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] is on my list, but that feels too plain for you lol. [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] [name_m]Cornelius[/name_m] [name_u]John[/name_u]

[name_m]Reuben[/name_m] [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] Greystoke or [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] Greystoke [name_m]Lazarus[/name_m] would be cool

[name_u]Augustine[/name_u] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is nice, but feels a bit boring compared to some of the others on your list. [name_u]Augustine[/name_u] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] Elias/Ephraim feels a bit more unexpected. [name_u]Augustine[/name_u] [name_m]Tobias[/name_m] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]

[name_m]Nicodemus[/name_m], [name_m]Cornelius[/name_m], [name_m]Lazarus[/name_m], & [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] are some of my favorite obscure biblical names

@Greyblue - Aww, thank you love. And I can almost guarantee [name_m]Boaz[/name_m] will go nowhere… based on how meaningful [name_m]Boaz[/name_m] is and how giddy I got when I came across one in real life. [name_m]Boaz[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m] [name_u]Henry[/name_u] is one of my favorite names of all time and I would be tickled pink to have a [name_m]Boaz[/name_m]. I like [name_u]Rory[/name_u], [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m], [name_m]Jubal[/name_m], and Caspian… [name_u]Rory[/name_u] I would probably use as a nn for [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], if I’m being honest. I feel like they’re too similar to use both, and my heart is with [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], but I’d be so happy to call him [name_u]Rory[/name_u] occasionally. [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] I’m not sure if I can see me with one, but he is nice… and [name_m]Jubal[/name_m] is a dog in this series of novels I’m reading, so I’m not ready for him on a human yet (do love the unisex [name_u]Yuval[/name_u] for a girl though!). I adore [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] and want a home for him again, but with [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] as my top name currently, I don’t know that I would use him up front… [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] is my only idea, but I don’t love him.

@lavenderwitch - thanks, dear! I’m honored you do! Not sure I could use [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m] together as they rhyme (), but I see what you’re laying down. And ahhh, this list. So many of these are very close to my heart! [name_m]Absalom[/name_m], [name_m]Melchior[/name_m], [name_m]Balthasar[/name_m], [name_m]Simeon[/name_m], [name_m]Hazael[/name_m] (prefer [name_u]Azrael[/name_u] though), [name_m]Jethro[/name_m], [name_m]Ebenezer[/name_m], [name_m]Josiah[/name_m], [name_m]Philemon[/name_m], [name_m]Malachi[/name_m], [name_m]Zebulun[/name_m], [name_m]Canaan[/name_m], Zephan/Zephaniah, [name_m]Cornelius[/name_m], [name_m]Gideon[/name_m], [name_m]Mordecai[/name_m], and [name_m]Lazarus[/name_m] are all likes… some, like [name_m]Absalom[/name_m], I hesitate on due to the negative connotations. I’ll have to give them further consideration; most I love but would probably only use as middles.

@Oblivious_octopus - thank you! I like [name_m]Lars[/name_m], [name_m]Leander[/name_m], and [name_m]Aras[/name_m], but I’m not sure I could see me with little boys with these names. Definitely in the right vein, though!

@Clay_Maker - Thank you! I’m not sure [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] is too plain for me… I’m just not fond of [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] myself. [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] [name_m]Cornelius[/name_m] is unspeakably cool, but maybe too much name? I’d like to keep to a family middle, so I don’t know that [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] or [name_m]Lazarus[/name_m] would work with [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] Greystoke, but I suppose I could claim Greystoke for my grandma whose middle was [name_f]Grace[/name_f], lol. I want something a little more tame after Greystoke since it’s so unusual… like [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] Greystoke [name_u]Henry[/name_u] or [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] Greystoke [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]? [name_u]Augustine[/name_u] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is very mellow… but I’m fine with that. I think [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_u]Augustine[/name_u] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u], for example, work pretty well together? I love [name_m]Cornelius[/name_m], too; I want to love [name_m]Nicodemus[/name_m] because of an amazing show I’ve been bingewatching (The Chosen… it’s the first ever multi-season show about the life of Jesus)… I love [name_m]Nicodemus[/name_m] in the show! I’m just not sure I can really see [name_m]Nicodemus[/name_m] on a little boy/love it enough to use it. Lazslo seems easier than [name_m]Lazarus[/name_m] to me, and I don’t have a nn for [name_m]Lazarus[/name_m] I really love. [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] is super handsome, though, and I always sort of forget about him. I’ll have to give him some more thought!

You have very mature style, I’m struggling to find a word for it but in my mind I keep seeing kids with names like these attending [name_m]Harvard[/name_m] or Cambridge. I’m not especially good at commenting on each and every name because sometimes I feel neutral and can’t come up with a description. So instead, I’m going to list my favorites + recommendations.

[name_u]Grey[/name_u] - I know, this was one of the middles but I think [name_u]Grey[/name_u] is such a cool middle name that is horribly underused. And thank you for using the ey instead of ay spelling!
[name_m]Boaz[/name_m] - another individual name that I like out of the entire combo
[name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] - one of my favorite individuals!
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] - I haven’t seen this used on a boy before but it caught my eye because I actually like it better than I do on a girl
[name_m]Barnabas[/name_m] [name_m]Lion[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] - this is the first of your combos that I fell for, I just don’t like the nicknames
[name_u]Judah[/name_u] [name_m]Théophile[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u] - major name crush on the whole thing. I don’t for the life of me know why I didn’t previously have [name_u]Judah[/name_u] or [name_m]Théophile[/name_m] saved somewhere but you changed that today
[name_u]Asa[/name_u] - love for girls and boys, almost wish this was seen 50/50 across the board, it needs to get some love from girls too
[name_m]Reef[/name_m] - this and [name_u]Forest[/name_u] are quickly becoming my favorite nature names for boys. I don’t feel particularly fond of the 2 middles though
[name_m]Frederick[/name_m] [name_m]Amias[/name_m] - yes, re-add!!

Now for what I would recommend:
[name_m]Ulysses[/name_m] - this could be a strong middle
Lionheart
[name_u]Gabriel[/name_u]
[name_m]Stamatios[/name_m]
[name_m]Alasdair[/name_m] / [name_m]Alastair[/name_m] (I think [name_m]Allastaire[/name_m] is especially bold)
[name_m]Aurelien[/name_m]
[name_u]Baez[/name_u]
[name_m]Balthazar[/name_m]
[name_m]Basilio[/name_m]
[name_m]Bear[/name_m] / [name_m]Bearchán[/name_m]
[name_m]Vasili[/name_m] / [name_m]Vasily[/name_m]
[name_m]Venedict[/name_m]
[name_m]Brynmor[/name_m]
[name_m]Chaplin[/name_m]
[name_m]Dionysus[/name_m] / [name_m]Dionysius[/name_m]
[name_m]Theomund[/name_m]
[name_m]Emmerich[/name_m]
[name_m]Morys[/name_m]
[name_m]Neruda[/name_m]
[name_m]Stephanus[/name_m]
[name_m]Thelonius[/name_m]
[name_m]Alas[/name_m]
Saebiorn

It’s pretty eclectic now that I look at it all finished up. I did try to keep it dated though for you no matter what because it seems to me that uver popular names of today don’t make it into your combinations.

Aww, thanks, love. And lol, I started with Gray… I prefer [name_u]Grayson[/name_u] to [name_u]Greyson[/name_u], but I have grown to like [name_u]Grey[/name_u] more than [name_u]Gray[/name_u], maybe because it looks more namey than a color. Grey/Grayson is a family name, so if I ever used just [name_u]Grayson[/name_u], I’d probably use the nn [name_u]Gray[/name_u], tbh. lol. [name_m]Boaz[/name_m] is another family name! I’m glad you like [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] [name_m]Amias[/name_m] too!

Lionheart stuck out immediately… it’s sort of my nn for my nephew, so I’m not sure I’d use it, but I love him so much! I think he’d make a really cool middle. Like _______ Lionheart [name_u]John[/name_u] or _________ Lionheart [name_u]Grey[/name_u]. I’ll have to give him some thought! I like [name_m]Aurelien[/name_m], [name_m]Brynmor[/name_m], [name_m]Chaplin[/name_m], [name_m]Emmerich[/name_m] (although I prefer [name_m]Alaric[/name_m] to Emeric), [name_m]Stephanus[/name_m], and Seaborn/Saebiorn… I’m not sure how many I’d use up front, but I do like them a lot. Thanks for the suggestions!
