I try not to overthink sibsets because they grow up to be their own person anyway, but because my first daughter has an unusual (in the US) middle name and her full name means “bright star,” I feel pressure to give this child as special of a name. This is a pregnancy after a loss so Iris feels special, as it means rainbow, but I’m not married to using it if we find another combo we like better.
Any thoughts? Other suggestions are welcome, but it was really difficult for my husband and I to come up with a short list we agreed on and most of those don’t even make the cut of actual possibilities, so I doubt he’d approve other suggestions at this point.

Anyway, here are my thoughts for her little sister-
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] Jade-Neither of these names are quite my cup of tea, but it’s just my personal opinion. I don’t care for the sound, but I really like [name_f]Iris[/name_f] in theory because it’s old fashioned, simple, grows up well, has lovely flower imagery, isn’t over done, & is special because it means rainbow.
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] Iris-I like [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] more than [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. It’s just quirky & sparkly but also feels bold & smart & feminine w/out being too frilly. And it has great nn options of [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Junie[/name_f] or [name_f]Juno[/name_f].
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] Calliope-Ooh, what a lovely interesting combo! I like [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] a lot w/Stella. It gives a similar vibe & is also outer space-y.
In conclusion, you can’t go wrong w/any of them! Hopefully she’ll come out w/a name-tag.

I don’t mind [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], and [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] is a lovely combination - I find [name_f]Stella[/name_f] and [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] a bit of a mouthful to say. I love [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] as a combo, and wonder about [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] as a better combo than [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f], which sounds like two colours to me.

Yes, [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] are a flower and a tree, but [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] is two Greek musical instruments next to each other, if themey makes you like it less hahaha.
I sooo wish [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] was an option as a first name. That one is my favorite that my husband won’t let me use. He’s not really sold on it as a middle either but I think he could be convinced to compromise if he loved the first name.
