Thoughts on my (updated!) name list

I made a post a while back about my name list, but I’ve since added a few more and I’d love to share them and get some opinions.

Girls-

[name_f]Vienna[/name_f] [name_m]Jess[/name_m]

[name_f]Judy[/name_f] [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f]

[name_f]Epiphany[/name_f] (Effie) [name_f]Ruthanne[/name_f]

[name_f]Deanna[/name_f] [name_f]Lila[/name_f]

[name_f]Marina[/name_f] (Marnie) [name_f]Eve[/name_f]

[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Jolene[/name_f]

[name_f]Lilibet[/name_f] [name_f]Ethel[/name_f]
Boys-

[name_m]Laurence[/name_m] [name_m]Timothy[/name_m]

[name_m]Colby[/name_m] [name_f]Lynn[/name_f]

[name_m]Kieran[/name_m] [name_m]Shawn[/name_m]

[name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Tucker[/name_m]

[name_m]Marcel[/name_m] [name_m]Evan[/name_m]

[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] [name_m]Michael[/name_m]

[name_m]Julian[/name_m] [name_m]Elliott[/name_m]

[name_f]My[/name_f] top threes are:
[name_f]Marina[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] “Marnie”
[name_f]Judy[/name_f] [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Jolene[/name_f]

[name_m]Kieran[/name_m] [name_m]Shawn[/name_m]
[name_m]Laurence[/name_m] [name_m]Timothy[/name_m]
[name_m]Julian[/name_m] [name_m]Elliott[/name_m]

I love [name_f]Marina[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] with nn [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Jolene[/name_f] is wonderful! I also really like [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] [name_m]Jess[/name_m] and [name_f]Judy[/name_f] [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f] and [name_f]Ethel[/name_f] but for some reason I don’t like them together. It may be that the short E sound in -bet is immediately repeated in [name_f]Ethel[/name_f], compounded by both names having many E and L sounds possibly.
[name_m]Marcel[/name_m] [name_m]Evan[/name_m] has the same pattern with the short E sound but the other letters are distinct and I like it.

[name_m]Colby[/name_m] [name_f]Lynn[/name_f] is my favourite on your boys’ list

I think [name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Tucker[/name_m] is a bit of a risk F___ucker :astonished: [name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Tanner[/name_m]? [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] [name_m]Tucker[/name_m]? [name_m]Calix[/name_m] [name_m]Tucker[/name_m] maybe.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites are:

[name_m]Julian[/name_m] [name_m]Elliott[/name_m] - handsome and gentle

[name_m]Marcel[/name_m] [name_m]Evan[/name_m] - strong and bold but sweet too

[name_f]Marina[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] ‘Marnie’ - sparky and sweet

[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Jolene[/name_f] - cheerful, musical and elegant

[name_f]Vienna[/name_f] [name_m]Jess[/name_m] - sweet, stylish and unexpected

I also like:

[name_f]Judy[/name_f] [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] - clunky cute and underused

[name_f]Epiphany[/name_f] [name_f]Ruthanne[/name_f] ‘Effie’ - bold and interesting

[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] [name_m]Michael[/name_m] - bright and sharp

I think these work too, even if they’re not a personal fave:

[name_m]Laurence[/name_m] [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] - classic and elegance

[name_m]Colby[/name_m] [name_f]Lynn[/name_f] - unexpected and bubbly

[name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Tucker[/name_m] - love [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Tucker[/name_m] holds no appeal for me, but [name_m]Felix[/name_m] shines bright enough and it flows well.
(I’d consider [name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Cooper[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Micah[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Tanner[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Dean[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Parker[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m] Alder)

[name_f]Lilibet[/name_f] [name_f]Ethel[/name_f] - full of vintage charm and sweetness but the -et Eth- sounds flow into each other a tiny bit for me.
(Lilibet [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] came to mind)

Not sure on:

[name_f]Deanna[/name_f] [name_f]Lila[/name_f] - is it deen-uh, dee-ann-uh, or dee-ahn-uh? [name_m]Or[/name_m] something else? Are you going with LIE-luh or LEE-luh? I think it could work depending on which you use

[name_m]Kieran[/name_m] [name_m]Shawn[/name_m] - a bit rhymey for me. [name_m]Kieran[/name_m] [name_f]Shay[/name_f] or [name_m]Kieran[/name_m] [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] came to mind

[name_f]Deanna[/name_f] [name_f]Lila[/name_f] would be Dee-Ann-uh Lie-la. I definitely see where you’re coming from with [name_m]Kieran[/name_m] [name_m]Shawn[/name_m] but [name_m]Shawn[/name_m] is an honor name lol. It’s also funny that you suggest the other two; as he would have an Aunt [name_f]Shay[/name_f] and his father’s name would in fact be [name_m]Seamus[/name_m].

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Here are my thoughts-

[name_f]Vienna[/name_f] Jess-I don’t know that I love [name_f]Vienna[/name_f]. Which is weird, because I do like [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], & it looks similar enough. It’s not a bad name though. It’s feminine & strong & a little exotic . [name_m]Jess[/name_m] doesn’t do much for me as a MN, but it’s not awful.

[name_f]Judy[/name_f] Madelyn-Judy is not a name that you see much these days. I don’t care for it, but I think that I’d also be tickled to meet a little tyke named [name_f]Judy[/name_f]! Guess it’s just refreshing. [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] is fine as a MN, but I’m picky & don’t like how [name_f]Judy[/name_f] & [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] both have 'd’s.

[name_f]Epiphany[/name_f] [name_f]Ruthanne[/name_f] (Effie)-I can appreciate that [name_f]Effie[/name_f] is cute & vintage. [name_f]Epiphany[/name_f] is a lot though. Really hard to say & spell at first glance.

[name_f]Deanna[/name_f] Lila-Oh, that’s refreshing. [name_f]Deanna[/name_f] is not necessarily a name that I love, but much like [name_f]Judy[/name_f], I’m still pleased to see it on your list. I like the way that [name_f]Deanna[/name_f] [name_f]Lila[/name_f] feels too.

[name_f]Marina[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] (Marnie)-I’m just not into the ‘Mar’ sound in [name_f]Marnie[/name_f], but [name_f]Marina[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is gorgeous.

[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] Jolene-So pretty! Romantic & charming.

[name_f]Lilibet[/name_f] Ethel-I don’t care much for either name. The combo works though. I love the [name_f]Lili[/name_f] part.

Boys-

[name_m]Laurence[/name_m] Timothy-Ooh, you spelled [name_m]Laurence[/name_m] how I prefer it. This combo is handsome.

[name_m]Colby[/name_m] Lynn-I can’t get into [name_m]Colby[/name_m]. It just feels a little early 2000s dated. [name_f]Lynn[/name_f] is unisex, but still feels feminine. Maybe [name_m]Colby[/name_m] [name_f]Wynn[/name_f] would be better? Unless [name_f]Lynn[/name_f] is an honor name for you, then go for it.

[name_m]Kieran[/name_m] Shawn-My sweet little nephew is [name_m]Kieran[/name_m], & nine years later I still prefer the [name_m]Ciaran[/name_m] spelling. Still a beautiful name. I don’t like [name_m]Shawn[/name_m] much, but it’s okay. Prefer [name_m]Sean[/name_m] for sure. [name_m]Feel[/name_m] stronger about that than [name_m]Kieran[/name_m] vs [name_m]Ciaran[/name_m].

[name_m]Felix[/name_m] Tucker-I’m not on the [name_m]Felix[/name_m] train as much as most berries seem to be, but it’s cute enough & I really like the way [name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Tucker[/name_m] sounds. Spunky & cuddly.

[name_m]Marcel[/name_m] Evan-I don’t love either name, but the combo works & [name_m]Marcel[/name_m] is different.

[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] Michael-I really like [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] & I really like [name_m]Josiah[/name_m]. Why can’t I get on board with [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m]? It’s a perfectly nice name; just don’t love it for some reason.

[name_m]Julian[/name_m] Elliott-Saved the best for last. I love it! [name_m]Julian[/name_m] is one of my top guys, & [name_m]Elliott[/name_m] is equally dashing.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
