DH and I can’t decide on names for boys, but keep comparing every name to our current top name - [name_m]Jacoby[/name_m]. DH is super picky, keeps turning down some of my other faves ([name_u]Luca[/name_u], [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_u]Parker[/name_u], [name_u]Peyton[/name_u], [name_m]Liam[/name_m], etc). He has only come up with [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], which I could see as a possible middle name to [name_m]Jacoby[/name_m]. We aren’t telling friends and family the name until after he is born, so can’t get their opinions. What are your thoughts on the name [name_m]Jacoby[/name_m]?
I like it if it’s pronounced Ja-COH-bee with the accent on the second syllable. It’s actually supposed to be pronounced JACK-oh-bee, though, with the accent on the first syllable which I don’t really like. So for me, it depends on pronunciation. If the former, I think it’s great. If the latter, I’m not a fan–it’s awkward to say with the accent on the first syllable for me.
I have only heard it pronounced jə-ko-bee. I have had a soft spot for this name since I was a teen. [name_m]Jacoby[/name_m] [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] is a handsome name.
Totally agree with you regarding the pronunciation. I don’t see how someone can see [name_m]Jacoby[/name_m] and think “[name_m]Jack[/name_m]-o-bee”, but that’s just me.

I agree. I know a little boy named [name_m]Jacoby[/name_m], and he’s adorable. So I have nothing but positive associations with the name.
I definitely concur with the feelings of disdain toward the [name_m]JACK[/name_m]-oh-bee pronunciation. It just feels so wrong but I know some people actually do pronounce it that way.

I wasn’t even aware of the [name_m]JACK[/name_m]-oh-bee pronunciation which I don’t like. If you say it the other way I find it quite endearing.
