[name_m]Nixon[/name_m] is not my usual style but I have a family-friend who has the cuuutest baby boy named [name_m]Nixon[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and he has made me really like it.
What’s your take on it?

It makes me think of the Watergate Scandal, and the only president of the US to resign in office… He wasn’t a great president, so that’s literally all I think of when I hear “[name_m]Nixon[/name_m]”.
My husband just suggested this as a boys’ name! Maybe since he’s Canadian, he has a less visceral reaction to it than I do as an American, but I do think the name is still a bit tainted. Unfortunately, a few years ago you might’ve been fine, but I feel like [name_m]Nixon[/name_m]'s scandals have had a resurgence lately with comparisons to Trump.
I’d have to agree fully with primbutcher on their post, the name is a bit tainted right now… but if you don’t care about that then go for it!
My nephew’s name is [name_m]Nixon[/name_m] [name_u]River[/name_u]. It suits him perfectly. We’re in Australia though so there is no political connection for us.
All I think of is the president and the Watergate scandal. The name would probably come with a few raised eyebrows if you live in the US. What about [name_m]Knox[/name_m]?
