Thoughts on Noa for a girl?

I love the idea of [name_u]Noa[/name_u] on a girl, but [name_u]Noah[/name_u] is so popular for boys, I worry that she won’t like sharing a common boy name. I’m thinking there are girl [name_u]Chris[/name_u]’s and [name_u]Jo[/name_u]’s out there too, which are common boy names… thoughts?

I’ve also considered naming her [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] and calling her [name_u]Noa[/name_u] for short (so she’d have options), but my husband is set on Biblical names only since we did that for our son. So now, I’m considering naming her [name_u]Noa[/name_u] and just calling her [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] lol. I need help

I love [name_u]Noa[/name_u] for a girl! I actually like [name_u]Noa[/name_u] (g) soo much more than I like [name_u]Noah[/name_u] (b). I think it works perfectly fine. [name_u]Noa[/name_u] is rising quite a bit for girls, currently ranking at #566 in the US, so she definitely wouldn’t be the only one out there!

I like both! [name_u]Noa[/name_u] is super cool, but I think [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] is a really great nod to the [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] story. [name_m]Just[/name_m] considering the names on their own, I prefer [name_f]Noelle[/name_f].

Me too! I’m trying to sell [name_m]Le[/name_m] husband on the [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] meaning rather than being directly used in the Bible. No luck so far. I still have 5 months to wear him down on it though

I don’t like [name_u]Noa[/name_u] for a girl. It looks …lacking. And spell-correct will always try to change it to [name_u]Noah[/name_u] or [name_u]Nova[/name_u].

Although perhaps not biblical, Id suggest [name_u]Nova[/name_u], latin for “new”. Then you still get NN [name_u]Noa[/name_u].

Second best would be [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], NN [name_u]Noa[/name_u].

I love them all for a girl [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], [name_u]Noah[/name_u] (there was a girl in the Bible with her name spelled this way) and [name_u]Noa[/name_u].

Do you guys have a middle name idea?

Oh, good to know! I’ll check her out.

And I’m thinking [name_u]Marie[/name_u] for the middle name of [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] ([name_u]French[/name_u] for [name_f]Mary[/name_f]). Or maybe [name_f]Arielle[/name_f] if we go with [name_u]Noa[/name_u].

I adore the name [name_u]Noa[/name_u] (it’s my niece’s name). I don’t think it’s an issue at all that [name_u]Noah[/name_u] is a popular boys’ name. [name_u]Noa[/name_u] is gorgeous and so spunky! I’d absolutely consider it if I had another daughter if not for my niece. I say go for it! I much prefer it to [name_f]Noelle[/name_f].

Noa is lovely - short, sweet and simple, with a good dash of spunk. I’d love to meet a little girl named [name_u]Noa[/name_u].

I’d use [name_u]Noa[/name_u] and just call her that

Noa is okay, but it’s not my personal favorite. It’s spunky, though, so that’s nice.

For biblical names, how about:

:black_small_square:︎Naomi (a bit of a stretch, but I think you could get [name_u]Noa[/name_u] out of it)/Noemi is also a possibility

:black_small_square:︎Nora/Norah - the female version of [name_u]Noah[/name_u]

Noelle is very pretty, and it honors [name_u]Christmas[/name_u]! That’s pretty biblical to me. [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] gets the seal of approval from this Catholic lol. Good luck!

I really like it! (Actually way better on a girl, I don’t like [name_u]Noah[/name_u] to much)
