Thoughts on our list?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] again. We are expecting our second little girl and thanks to the lovely people on this website we have a list of ideas! No begins the work of trying to narrow it down. Our first daughter is [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f] and on our list for [name_u]Baby[/name_u] [name_f]Girl[/name_f] #2 we have:

[name_u]Blair[/name_u]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
Etta*
Nell*
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Mara[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Irene[/name_f]
[name_f]Corinne[/name_f]
[name_f]Audra[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
Winnie*
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecile[/name_f]

Names with * beside them are ones we like but would still prefer a longer name for them, but just haven’t found one that we like yet. We are still considering them as is, but I just am not sure how I feel about nicknames as formal names.

To help with flow/full name sound: for her middle name we plan on using a [name_f]Rose[/name_f] variant, we like [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f], and our surname starts with H (two syllables).

I LOVE [name_u]Blair[/name_u], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_f]Mara[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Irene[/name_f] and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]!

I’m not sure on a longer version for [name_f]Nell[/name_f], but [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] could be [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] or even [name_u]Winter[/name_u]! I think [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] goes better with [name_f]Grace[/name_f] though.

These are what I think go best with each of these names:
[name_u]Blair[/name_u] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] (the double R sound is a little tough, though)
[name_f]Nell[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_f]Irene[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites from your list are:

[name_f]Etta[/name_f]
[name_f]Nell[/name_f]
[name_f]Mara[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Corinne[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]

I like the simplicity of [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a middle name for all of them, except [name_u]June[/name_u] which I LOVE [name_u]June[/name_u] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] I also like [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]!

I love your list! Lots of short and sweet names that give off a playful, summery vibe. As a sister for [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and with a [name_f]Rose[/name_f]- middle name, my favourites are [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], and [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]. I also like the idea of [name_f]Etta[/name_f] or [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] as full names.

In terms of full names for those nicknames, maybe…
[name_f]Etta[/name_f]: [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], [name_f]Julietta[/name_f], [name_f]Amoret[/name_f], [name_f]Winslet[/name_f], [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f], [name_f]Lisbet[/name_f]
[name_f]Nell[/name_f]: [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], Helen(a), [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]: [name_f]Winslet[/name_f], [name_u]Winslow[/name_u], [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]

Great list!

I think [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] would be lovely.

I also really like [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Mara[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] & [name_f]Tessa[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Nell[/name_f] by itself or [name_f]Nella[/name_f]. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] could be a full name for [name_f]Etta[/name_f] or maybe [name_f]Colette[/name_f] or [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. I quite like [name_u]Winter[/name_u] for [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]!

There are many names on your list I love, but I think the ones that go best with [name_f]Grace[/name_f] are:
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] (my fave)
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
As far a middle, I absolutely love [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f]! [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f], [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f], or [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f].

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites from your list would be [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Etta[/name_f], [name_f]Audra[/name_f], and [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]! [name_f]My[/name_f] least favorites would be [name_f]Cecile[/name_f] (reminds me too much of [name_u]Cecil[/name_u], how about Cecily?) and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] (I could just never like it, but it’s very pretty!) The rest I am neutral towards or prefer a variant. For [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_f]Etta[/name_f], and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], how about…

Nell~

[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] / [name_f]Elinor[/name_f] / [name_f]Elanor[/name_f]
Unella (Pronounced ooh-nella)
[name_f]Nellie[/name_f]

Etta~

[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] / [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] / [name_f]Julietta[/name_f]
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Andriette[/name_f]
[name_f]Amoret[/name_f]
[name_f]Lisette[/name_f]
[name_f]Marietta[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Etta[/name_f] works the best as a standalone out of the 3 nicknames!

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]

[name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f] / [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f]
[name_u]Winter[/name_u]

With [name_f]Grace[/name_f], I think the names that go best are [name_f]Estelle[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], or [name_u]June[/name_u]! [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] from my suggestions! [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

A lovely list! [name_f]My[/name_f] favourites with [name_f]Grace[/name_f] are…

[name_f]Audra[/name_f] (my favourite)
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f]

To help narrow it down I would eliminate [name_u]Blair[/name_u] as [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is very feminine and [name_u]Blair[/name_u] being unisex, has a very different vibe.

[name_f]My[/name_f] top 5 (in alphabetical order) would be
[name_f]Audra[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f]
[name_f]Irene[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]
I also like [name_f]Nell[/name_f] (Nell Rosamund?) and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] (Winnie Rosalind?). I think these could work on their own but full names could be Cornelia/Eleanor/Lenora and Winifred/Gwendolyn/Elowen.

I love your list so much! With so many great options, I can see how it would be tough to choose! Some thoughts on each possibility:

[name_u]Blair[/name_u]: This is one of the few names on your list that I’m not a huge fan of, and I don’t love the flow of it with an ā€œRā€ middle.
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f]: I truly adore Ruth; it’s strong yet gentle, has a lovely sound and meaning, and great namesakes. I generally love first-middle alliteration so that’s a bonus to me, though ymmv!
[name_f]Etta[/name_f]: I really love [name_f]Etta[/name_f] and think it makes a charming pair with [name_f]Grace[/name_f]! Meeting a real-life [name_f]Etta[/name_f] recently has only made me like it more! It also sounds great with your middle name options, imo.
[name_f]Nell[/name_f]: A long-time favorite of mine and truly such a sweet spot name–familiar yet underused, sweet but full of energy and strength, and with a beautiful meaning. [name_u]An[/name_u] all-around winner!
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]: Pearl’s been growing on me recently and it feels really perfect with [name_f]Grace[/name_f]!
[name_f]Frances[/name_f]: So warm and strong and lovely, but my first thought was [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]. Could be a complete non-issue but with so many other wonderful options, it gives me a tiny bit of pause.
[name_f]Mara[/name_f]: This has been a recent love for me–it’s so bright and lovely and energetic! I think it fits well with [name_f]Grace[/name_f] without feeling overly matchy. I’m not sure I love the way it flows with an ā€œRā€ middle, but it’s definitely workable!
[name_u]June[/name_u]: Such a sunshine-y, charmingly vintage name with a lovely sound–and it feels like a perfect sister name for [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. [name_u]June[/name_u] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] is swoon-worthy!
[name_f]Vera[/name_f]: [name_f]Beautiful[/name_f] and has a lovely meaning to pair with [name_f]Grace[/name_f]! Like [name_f]Mara[/name_f], I don’t quite love the flow with your middle options.
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f]: Elegant and starry! Not my personal favorite from your list, but still lovely.
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]: Growing on me recently, and I definitely appreciate it’s simple but lovely sounds and vintage charm! Ditto [name_f]Mara[/name_f] and [name_f]Vera[/name_f] on the middle name situation, though.
[name_f]Irene[/name_f]: Definitely deserving of more use / attention! It doesn’t jump out at me as the most natural sister for [name_f]Grace[/name_f], but they do sound lovely together!
[name_f]Corinne[/name_f]: Another one of those sweet spot names that everyone knows but not many people seem to be using–and like [name_f]Irene[/name_f], it doesn’t feel matchy with [name_f]Grace[/name_f] but still fits.
[name_f]Audra[/name_f]: I want to love this, but I’m just not quite there. I really like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] though!
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]: I love this, although I love just [name_f]Tess[/name_f] even more–but [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] feels like too much ā€œSā€ I think!
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]: Such a sweet, happy, spunky name–I love it best as a standalone and think it would make a really fun sister name for [name_f]Grace[/name_f]!
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]: Not my favorite from your list, but bright and sparkly and pretty nonetheless!
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f]: This is one of those names that I want to love–it has such a great meaning and a cool, slightly offbeat vibe. I just don’t really like the sound, but I do think it pairs beautifully with [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and with your middle options!
[name_f]Cecile[/name_f]: I’m not the biggest fan, but I do like the similar [name_f]Celie[/name_f] and [name_f]Celia[/name_f]!

Overall, my favorite pairings for you are:

[name_f]Grace[/name_f] & [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] & [name_f]Etta[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] & [name_f]Nell[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] & [name_f]Mara[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] & [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] & [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]

You really can’t go wrong here, though! Good luck! :yellow_heart:

i loveee blair, tessa, & vera :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts: as well as cora, one of my all time favs <3
cora rosalie would be adorable

I love Mara Rose or Mara Rosalie! Mara and Grace are great together! I also like Ruth, June and Cora! Congratulations on baby #2!
Edit: What about Grace Mirabelle and:
Mara Elizabeth
Mara Katherine
Mara Lilian
Mara Claire
Mara Joy

I love [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] with [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. How about [name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] nn [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]?

[name_f]My[/name_f] other faves with [name_f]Grace[/name_f] are [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f].

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite combo ideas:
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f]
&
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_f]Irene[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_u]Blair[/name_u] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]

these are my personal favorites, but you have a great list and all the options sounds beautiful!

Top 5 in no particular order:

[name_u]Blair[/name_u]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]

I love your list but my favourites are:

[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_u]Blair[/name_u] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]

[name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f] and

[name_u]Blair[/name_u] - I don’t understand the appeal of this, sorry.
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] - same as above.
[name_f]Etta[/name_f] - really like this as a name in its own right. I do also love both [name_f]Marietta[/name_f] and [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] but feel names like this are too long beside [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and with a long [name_f]Rose[/name_f] variant middle. [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] or [name_f]Mariette[/name_f] as long versions?
[name_f]Nell[/name_f] - again, really like in its own right, but also as a nn for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Nephele[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f].
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] - love this, would go perfectly with [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. I’d go [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] - not for me
[name_f]Mara[/name_f] - I’m not a fan, feels a little sterile / nothingy to me, though I like other similar names which I feel have a point of distinction eg [name_f]Yara[/name_f]. Also the meaning is awful, and your baby might grow up to enjoy researching such things.
[name_u]June[/name_u] - I like as a middle but not as a first. Would go fabulously with [name_f]Grace[/name_f] though.
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] - the wrong side of old lady for me personally.
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f] - too pretty-princessy for my taste, prefer [name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] - this used to be on my list but I’ve gone off it.
[name_f]Irene[/name_f] - I like but not enough as a first and I don’t feel it goes with [name_f]Grace[/name_f].
[name_f]Corinne[/name_f] - another one I don’t understand the appeal of.
[name_f]Audra[/name_f] - [name_m]Just[/name_m] not my thing at all
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] - pretty, not sure goes with [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] - another one I don’t get. Definitely think this one needs a longer form.
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] - I absolutely don’t get it - this seems to be just now gaining popularity in the states? In the UK it’s a very dated 80s name and even back then was common or ā€˜downmarket’ for want of a better phrase.
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f] - not a fan but I’m in the minority.
[name_f]Cecile[/name_f] - not my thing.

[name_u]Blair[/name_u] -pretty and sparky
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] -sharp and strong with a nice meaning
Etta* -pretty, sharp and sparky (I think it could be a nn for Estelle)
Nell* - warm, rugged and charming
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] -elegant and lovely
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] -nice enough, I don’t love it
[name_f]Mara[/name_f] -cute and warm
[name_u]June[/name_u] -simple but strong and classy
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] - I’m not sure - I find it a tad clunky
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f] - elegant and bright
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] -sharp but sweet
[name_f]Irene[/name_f] -pretty cute and bright
[name_f]Corinne[/name_f] -sharp and distinct
[name_f]Audra[/name_f] - warm and earthy
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] -joyful, sweet and strong
Winnie* -pretty cute, not my fave
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] -warm and solid
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f] - light and sleek
[name_f]Cecile[/name_f] - quite nice, but i do prefer [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]

Congrats!

I know I have gushed about [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f] before but she is just so beautiful.

You have a lovely list of names for me the standouts for Grace’s sibling in my eyes are [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Mara[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] & [name_f]Blythe[/name_f].

However I’m certain the majority of these would work wonderfully as they are all lovely with the exception of [name_u]Blair[/name_u] which feels to masculine next to such a girly sister name and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] as I think using another g name could cause issues as you may feel pigeonholed into using more g names for future children.

Looking at my personal short list I think [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] would be lovely with [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is elegant, timeless, underused and universal. She has a lovely meaning ā€˜compassionate friend’ and I think something like [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] would be beautiful. Out of your variants [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] works.

[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is gorgeous such a lovely gemstone name and I think looks so classic with [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] would be a vintage dream.

[name_f]Mara[/name_f] is a fun vintage choice I like how unexpected she is with [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. Something like [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] would be sweet. [name_f]My[/name_f] only setback with this one is the meaning ā€˜bitter’ just isn’t as sweet as Grace’s.

[name_u]June[/name_u] is such a sweet summery favourite she feels fun a vintage gem. I think [name_f]Grace[/name_f] & [name_u]June[/name_u] are lovely together. I love the idea of [name_u]June[/name_u] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f].

[name_f]Cora[/name_f] paired with [name_f]Grace[/name_f] feels like a fashionista dream! [name_f]Grace[/name_f] & [name_f]Cora[/name_f] are super fun. I also like how both names share similar letters but are very distinctively different. [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] is pretty.

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is sweet! I’m a massive fan of [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] she’s a lovely vintage gem with the beautiful meaning ā€˜holy peacemaking gentle friend’ is just perfect. I think [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] works as a stand-alone name vintage nickname names are very popular where I am [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] works and I know a few. However [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] would be lovely with [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and keeps that lovely meaning. You could also use [name_f]Winika[/name_f]. I have a soft spot for [name_f]Winika[/name_f] especially with the meaning ā€˜Christmas orchid’ and works well with [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. [name_u]Winter[/name_u] or [name_f]Winona[/name_f] could also work but I think [name_f]Winika[/name_f] & [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] are a better fit for [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] would be delightful. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Winika[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] are great.

[name_f]Blythe[/name_f] is gorgeous and feels so whimsical with [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] is just a soft, ethereal and charming. I also love the meaning ā€˜happy, carefree’ a fun virtue name. [name_f]My[/name_f] only concern is that you could feel pigeonholed into choosing more virtue names for future kiddos. But as [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] isn’t overtly obvious I think it should be fine. [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] is sweet.

If I was to narrow it down further I would go [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u] & [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] (Winika)

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps

The ones I think go best with [name_f]Grace[/name_f] are:

[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f]
