I’ve been creeping around Nameberry for a while, but I thought it was finally time to sign up and post something!
I am currently 19 weeks pregnant with my (and my fiancé’s) first child! We will be finding out the gender on the 4th of February!
But until then, we are making lists for both genders! (my girls list is up in the girls section)
Basically I would love to hear what you guys think of our current list of names.
We would also really appreciate any suggestions you have! We are trying to make longer lists!
So here is our boys list:

[name]Jasper[/name] (too popular in our area)
[name]Ezra[/name] (fiancé doesn’t like)
[name]Elijah[/name] (fiancé loves, I see it as too close to [name]Eliza[/name])
[name]David[/name] (too popular and fiancé finds it boring)
[name]George[/name] (fiance likes, I don’t)
[name]Gilbert[/name] (I like, fiance doesn’t)
[name]Leonardo[/name] (I like, fiance doesn’t)
[name]Byron[/name] is probably my favorite from your short list! [name]Felix[/name], [name]Ezekiel[/name] and [name]Beauregard[/name] are also awesome. [name]Edmund[/name] is pretty good too, one of my favorite of the [name]Ed[/name] names (also like [name]Edric[/name] and [name]Edwin[/name]). [name]Adam[/name] and [name]Fredrick[/name] are not names I’ve ever liked too much.

Instead of [name]Linus[/name] how about: [name]Leonidas[/name], [name]Lionel[/name], [name]Caius[/name], [name]Lyle[/name]
Instead of [name]Rupert[/name] how about: [name]Arthur[/name]
Instead of [name]Jasper[/name] how about: [name]Jarvis[/name], [name]Castor[/name], Castus
Instead of [name]Ezra[/name] how about: [name]Boaz[/name], [name]Zane[/name]
Instead of [name]Elijah[/name] how about: [name]Elias[/name], [name]Elian[/name], [name]Eliam[/name], [name]Amias[/name], [name]Eli[/name]
Instead of [name]Leonardo[/name] how about: [name]Leo[/name], [name]Leonidas[/name], [name]Lionel[/name], [name]Leon[/name]
[name]Beauregard[/name] and [name]Ezekiel[/name]! [name]Both[/name] old-mannish, with lots of bite and lovely sleek nicknames. [name]Felix[/name] is wonderful, but it’s getting so popular (or maybe just on nameberry!)
[name]Frederick[/name] and [name]Edmund[/name] are buttoned-up traditional and gentlemanly. I find [name]Adam[/name] a little drab.
I may be alone in this, but somehow [name]Byron[/name] is silly to me, like naming your kid [name]Heathcliff[/name] (though I love the sound of both)… [name]Byron[/name] has such a brooding, gothic, tortured romantic feeling about it.

I would suggest a few names, but my brain is a bit fried at the moment and the one name I could think of ([name]Arthur[/name]) was already suggested. Perhaps [name]Simon[/name] or [name]Silas[/name]? [name]Gideon[/name]?
[name]Felix[/name] - I love [name]Felix[/name]. He could be any kind of guy and the name isn’t too popular.
[name]Edmund[/name] (will most likely call him [name]Teddy[/name]) - I loved the [name]Narnia[/name] series as a child, so maybe it’s just me but I can’t tihnk of anything else than [name]Edmund[/name] Pevensie
[name]Beauregard[/name] (most likely call him [name]Beau[/name]) - Trying too hard. Too much. [name]Just[/name] [name]Beau[/name] is better.
[name]Adam[/name] - Nice name, but a bit too popular for my taste
[name]Frederick[/name] (will most likely call him [name]Freddie[/name]) - I would never use it myself, but on someone else’s child it’s great and I love [name]Freddie[/name].
[name]Byron[/name] - no. Sounds like an old guy, dead and buried.
[name]Ezekiel[/name] (will most likely call him [name]Zeke[/name]) - I like [name]Zeke[/name] but not [name]Ezekiel[/name].
My favourites from your list are [name]Ezekiel[/name] & [name]Felix[/name]. They both have great meanings.
[name]Beauregard[/name] sounds nice, but makes me think of [name]Violet[/name] [name]Beauregard[/name] in [name]Charlie[/name] & the chocolate factory. Plus, if the child ever moved to a French speaking country, the name would be seen as rather odd or comical I think.
I like the name [name]Edmund[/name], but the [name]Narnia[/name] association is very strong for me too, and [name]Edmund[/name] was a traitor at the beginning. He repented, was forgiven and reinstated in his proper place though so it could either be a negative association for some people or a reminder of redemption & grace… Or neither if one doesn’t know the Narnian story lol!

[name]Hugo[/name] -meaning is mind, spirit, intellect
[name]Davin[/name] -instead of [name]David[/name]… Sounds new & fresh but has same meaning as [name]David[/name]

[name]Beauregard[/name] - [name]Beau[/name] is okay, not a fan of [name]Beauregard[/name], maybe as a middle

My most favorites are [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Beauregard[/name]
Congrats! I love [name]Adam[/name]; it is such a strong name! I like [name]Byron[/name], however it it the name of [name]Aria[/name]'s dad in pretty [name]Little[/name] Liars and I do not like him as a character. But if you’ve never seen the show it won’t matter. I love [name]Ezra[/name] and [name]George[/name] is a great classic!
