I’ve been creeping around Nameberry for a while, but I thought it was finally time to sign up and post something!
I am currently 19 weeks pregnant with my (and my fiancé’s) first child! We will be finding out the gender on the 4th of February!
But until then, we are making lists for both genders! (I will post my boys list in the boys section)
Basically I would love to hear what you guys think of our current list of names.
We would also really appreciate any suggestions you have! We are trying to make longer lists!
So here is our girls list:
[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Elma[/name] fiancé still not sure how he feels about this one
[name]Antonina[/name] (will most likely call her [name]Nina[/name])
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Edith[/name] (will most likely call her [name]Edie[/name])
[name]Annora[/name]
And just so you get a bigger picture of what we like in names (and which ones not to suggest):
Names we want to use but can’t for some reason or another:
[name]Isabella[/name] (too popular for our taste plus the twilight association)
[name]Mia[/name] (way too popular)
[name]Emma[/name] (our cat’s name plus popularity it’s the #1 name where we are)
[name]Genevieve[/name] (fiancé’s niece’s name)
[name]Vivian[/name] (my cousin’s name)
[name]Tatiana[/name] (fiancé doesn’t like)
[name]Cassandra[/name] (fiancé likes but I have a bad association with it)
[name]Lucy[/name] (soooo badly wanted to use this I love [name]Lucille[/name] Ball but it’s getting too popular where I live)
[name]Allegra[/name] (too associated with the meds)
[name]Imogen[/name] (fiancé likes, I don’t)
[name]Ethel[/name] (fiancé laughed at this one)
[name]Beatrice[/name] (fiancé has a bad association with this one)
[name]Mona[/name] (fiancé hates)
From your list I like [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Annora[/name] and [name]Edith[/name]. Normally I don’t like H on the end, but I think I prefer the Annorah spelling (or even [name]Honora[/name]). [name]Antonina[/name] I haven’t come across, but I really like it. And [name]Nina[/name] is a superb NN.
Perhaps you’d like [name]Alessandra[/name]? It’s my number one name, and I think it’s a nice compromise with [name]Cassandra[/name], [name]Isabella[/name], and [name]Allegra[/name].
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Antonina[/name] nn [name]Nina[/name], and I also like [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Rosalie[/name], but compared to [name]Antonina[/name] they fall flat.
I like [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Antonina[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name], and [name]Edith[/name]. I haven’t heard [name]Elma[/name] before-- I would probably do [name]Alma[/name] or [name]Elsa[/name]/[name]Elsie[/name] instead. Some other names you might like:
I did think of a couple of other names-- instead of [name]Mona[/name], what about [name]Ramona[/name], [name]Moira[/name], or [name]Leona[/name]/[name]Leonie[/name]?
[name]Hi[/name] guys, talked to my fiance [name]Theo[/name] and here are the names he liked from what I gave him:
[name]Clarissa[/name]
[name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name]
[name]Rosamund[/name]
[name]Amabel[/name] sounds a lot like [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Elma[/name] crossed, so you might like that.
In [name]Italy[/name], [name]Antonina[/name] is more of a nickname, so I would suggest [name]Antonia[/name] nn [name]Nina[/name].
[name]Isadora[/name] and [name]Rosamund[/name] are also gorgeous.
I will suggest these to [name]Theo[/name]! I’ll tell you what he thinks!
cristinamariane- Yes, I know Antonina is usually a nickname in Italy. I’m actually Italian, and may be going against my heritage a bit here but I feel like Antonina is more of a full name…
