What’s everyones feeling on the name [name_u]Owen[/name_u]? I like this name for our 3rd boy but worry it’s too trendy and/or popular? Our other 2 boys have short recognizable names but outside top 100. Middle name will be either [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] or [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] (family names). Coming up with a 3rd boy name is really hard!!!
Big brothers are:
[name_m]Grant[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]
[name_u]Reid[/name_u] [name_m]Steven[/name_m]
I really like [name_u]Owen[/name_u]. It has an attractive sound and is familiar without being overdone. In the UK it’s a classic Welsh name, not trendy, but I can’t speak for other countries.
I really like [name_u]Owen[/name_u]. I love how you can picture it on a cowboy, a woodsman or an artist all equally. It’s the perfect balance of masculine & gentle. It’s short & simple just like [name_m]Grant[/name_m] & [name_u]Reid[/name_u], even though it’s two syllables. I wouldn’t call it trendy, because it’s an old name. It is certainly popular though. [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] or [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] both flow beautifully too.
I think [name_u]Owen[/name_u] sounds perfect with [name_m]Grant[/name_m] & [name_u]Reid[/name_u], not too trendy at all. [name_u]Owen[/name_u] is a personal favorite.
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] sounds better between the two mn options, imho. Very handsome.
I absolutely love the name [name_u]Owen[/name_u]! I have never met an [name_u]Owen[/name_u] in my life but know two people with it as their middle names. [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] is so handsome!
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] is nice - familiar but not overly popular
[name_m]Euan[/name_m], [name_u]Dean[/name_u] and [name_m]Ian[/name_m] could be alternatives if you’re worried
My cousin’s son’s name is [name_u]Owen[/name_u], and I think it’s both cute on a little boy and will be handsome on a grown man. It’s a great strong, solid name. I think it works well with your other boys and [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] sounds wonderful.
I think [name_u]Owen[/name_u] is a super sweet name! It is gaining popularity in the US (now #25) but people are using much more diverse names nowadays so even popular names aren’t really as common as they may seem (not like the extreme popularity of [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f], for example). Plus it sounds great with [name_u]Reid[/name_u] and [name_m]Grant[/name_m]!
I like [name_u]Owen[/name_u]. I only know of one today under the age of 10 (who lives in FL), so I don’t see the popularity of it as some people do. If it is becoming too trendy for you, might I suggest [name_m]Oren[/name_m]/[name_m]Orin[/name_m]/[name_m]Oran[/name_m]. The name has the same familiarity without the overwhelming popularity/trendiness.
