Thoughts on Paloma?

… I love the meaning, ‘[name_u]Dove[/name_u]’?

I love this name its foriegn, unexpected, and very pretty. Potential nickname [name_f]Polly[/name_f] is super cute too!

[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] name! [name_u]Love[/name_u] The soft sounds and the meaning

I know a [name_f]Paloma[/name_f], and I think it’s a nice name, but it also reads as very strongly ethnic to me, so I think people would be confused at a non-Hispanic [name_f]Paloma[/name_f].

Well, it’s in my signature, so I guess anyone can tell that I absolutely adore it! It’s one of my favorite names ever. Gentle, graceful, and, yes, what a lovely meaning.

Interesting and quirky! Immediate association for me is the musician [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f].

I knew a [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] growing up and she was stunning! I like the name, its beautiful and you dont hear it enough. But I do think it’s very ethnic and doesnt necessarily transfer around to all ethnicities too well.

I love it! I couldn’t get my SO on board with it but I find it so lovely to say and evokes [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_m]Picasso[/name_m] and all things artistic and sensual.

I would totally use [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] if I hadn’t already used a P name for my first. It’s still a possibility but not for the next one! I think it’s so charming.

I’m not a fan but I know a girl named this and it’s not hard to pronounce and seems useable. Yona/Yonah also means dove. Tzipor and Tziporah mean bird, if you’re looking for similar meaning.

I adore this name honestly.

The meaning, the sound, the feeling. Easily pronouncible in plenty of languages. I think [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] is wonderful!

I’ve never been a fan of [name_f]Paloma[/name_f], I’m not sure why really. It feels similar to [name_f]Pamela[/name_f] which I see as an old-lady name. But [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] is pretty compared to [name_f]Pamela[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Paloma[/name_f]. And I especially love it when not paired with an Hispanic last name. I love the juxtaposition of [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u], [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] Goldstein, [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_u]Mason[/name_u] etc.

I see you have [name_u]Wren[/name_u] in your signature too. This is my first little girl’s name

I have a non- Hispanic and short last name

It sounds like a fresh version of [name_f]Pamela[/name_f]. [name_f]Polly[/name_f] or even [name_f]Oma[/name_f] are quite cute nicknames.

Thanks all for some great answers

[name_u]Love[/name_u]. It.

So, so pretty. Graceful & strong with a lovely meaning.

What a lovely choice! I fell in love with [name_u]Wren[/name_u] after a girl on my third grade basketball team had the name. I’ve seen it a few times in the middle, but I absolutely adore it as a first.
