i’ve always loved the name pauline it sounds so elegant and beautiful to me but i’m wondering if you guys think that pauline would be usable today. although i love it i do think that it’s probably a bit too old for a modern girl and the fact that i’m australian and there’s a famous pauline (hanson) that is quite disliked over here, but what do you think?
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Pauline[/name_f]! Close friends named their daughter [name_f]Paulina[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lina[/name_f].
I think it’s still very outdated and not ready for a comeback yet.
I find it a bit outdated too, but I like similar names like [name_f]Maxine[/name_f], [name_f]Claudine[/name_f] and [name_f]Apolline[/name_f] so I think it’s just a question of associations. Nothing wrong with the name at all, and I’ve never heard of [name_f]Pauline[/name_f] [name_m]Hanson[/name_m] (UK based).
I’ve really come to love it, honestly!
Nothing wrong with it but it does feel a tiny bit dusty. I prefer [name_f]Paulina[/name_f] bur if you like [name_f]Pauline[/name_f], I’d say go for it:)
I love [name_f]Pauline[/name_f]! We have been considering it as a middle because it combines our mother’s names !
I think it’s lovely and full of cute [name_u]Nick[/name_u] names too!
[name_f]Polly[/name_f] , [name_f]Linny[/name_f], [name_m]Pau[/name_m] ( Pow)
[name_f]Pauline[/name_f] does feel a bit dated however I quite like [name_f]Paulina[/name_f]. I know…one letter different, lol.
Pauline/Paulina is one of my favorite names. I might use either version of it if I have another daughter. I find it elegant in a friendly way - not snooty sounding like some elegant names. I don’t really differentiate between the two versions much, just depends if you want an a ending or not.
I don’t know how it is seen in Australia, but even if it is outdated I don’t think a child would suffer for it. No one seems to notice each other’s name much in my kids’ classes, anyway.
adorable! super underrated. i especially love pauline nn polly.
I think it’s adorable and would be thrilled to meet a little [name_f]Pauline[/name_f]!
I absolutely love [name_f]Pauline[/name_f]! I haven’t heard of [name_f]Pauline[/name_f] [name_m]Hanson[/name_m] (Not Australian though)
I think [name_f]Pauline[/name_f] is sweet! It’s old-fashioned, but in a charming way.
I recently started to like this name due to [name_f]Pauline[/name_f] Chalamet! She is adorable!
But if there were a bad association, I probably wouldn’t use it.
I don’t like any feminization of [name_m]Paul[/name_m], unfortunately, but I’ve never heard of [name_f]Pauline[/name_f] [name_m]Hanson[/name_m] if that helps! [name_f]Pauline[/name_f] seems frumpy to me, but I can see why names ending that beloved “een” sound seems classy.
Omg! It’s really beautiful, it’s an uncovered wonder. I love it
I love her too! Are you watching The Sex Lives of College Girls?

Being Australian, I think the association to Pauline Hanson is too great (and obviously it’s not a good one). I also find it quite dated and have never been a fan of the name Paul so even without that link I’m not a huge fan.
Yes, it’s such a sweet show!
thank you everyone for your responses while i do think it’s a lovely name i think maybe it is a little too old so maybe i could use it for a middle, but maybe by the time i have children it could be different hehe. i loved reading all your responses though thank you
I think it’s too dated to use sorry
