[name_m]Just[/name_m] curious to hear some opinions on the name [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like it, or no? Why or why not?
The concept is actually cute, but I have the impression it is too complicated to pronounce. That is not the kind of name I would like to repeat all my life…
I like it in the middle only. I agree with annie_y, I think it’s a bit hard to say. It feels awkward in my mouth.
As a middle yes. I agree with the tops comments, it simply doesn’t sound quite good.
Thanks for the replies. I tend to feel the same. It’s beautiful but it just doesn’t sit quite right as a first name to me.
Have you thought about [name_f]Perla[/name_f]? I prefer it to [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], although it is uncommon where we live, it’s a popular Spanish name and it is easier to pronounce than [name_f]Pearl[/name_f].
I think it’s sweet but can see why people don’t like the urrl sound. I love it as a middle name.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the name
I love [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]! I think it would be refreshing as a first name!
Based on names from your signature:
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
I like the idea of [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] as a first name. It’s been growing on me since reading the lengthy Middle English poem “[name_f]Pearl[/name_f].” I think it sounds really vintage and charming.
I love [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] and [name_f]Perla[/name_f]. [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] sounds a bit harsh in an American accent with the hard ‘r’.
I think the issue with [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is that its sounds aren’t “in” right now. It doesn’t end in a vowel sound, it has that hard “r” sound, and it’s only one syllable. Personally, I would love to meet a little [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]! I think it’s very refreshing.
