Thoughts on Petra?

Personally, I really love it, I think its familiar but so unique as well. I also love its connection to a text that I studied during high school called The Chrysalids. What do you think?

i think its cute

It’s name of a town build in rock.

It means rock.

I like it, but can’t use it.

I really love it! It makes me think of [name]Cleopatra[/name], but not so over-the-top!

The only flaw is it makes me think of petroleum.

I used to dislike it. Now it’s really growing on me. I like short names, which it is, but it’s also both strong and beautiful.

I don’t like short names. But I do like [name]Petra[/name]. I could see it being usable. But it does remind me of pterodactyl. Not a big deal, though.

I love it since the very first time I’ve heard it. It’s cute, girly and at the same time it has a powerful sounding.

Sorry for the brutal honesty but I really dislike the name.

I thinks it’s a great name, really pretty, really strong. I go back and forth with it on my list!

I really like it. It reminds me of someone from a book who was called that who did what she wanted and didn’t care what other people thought and was also really gorgeous which are all good things to be.

I did not like this name at all until I met a girl named Paetra (PAY-tra) nicknamed Patey, and it sounded so elegant and fun at the same time. I still prefer Paetra to [name]Petra[/name], but both are lovely.

I think it’s strong and beautiful. It’s a great name.

I like [name]Petra[/name]. I think it’s feminine and will age wonderfully. It’s also a little exotic  .

It’s a guilty pleasure of mine and I love it. I probably wouldn’t use it personally, but I think it’s a beautiful, strong name.

I love it, but it wouldn’t work with my last name.

I think it’s alright, but it feels incomplete to me. I work with a young woman named [name]Pietra[/name], [name]Petra[/name]'s Italian variant, and somehow that extra syllable rounds it out for me.

I really like [name]Petra[/name] and would enjoy meeting someone with the name. It’s like a counterpart to [name]Peter[/name].

I automatically read it as Pee-tra, then peetrie which then leads me to dish, so I’m not too sure of it. Some names or variations for it may be:

VARIATIONS
[name]Petrea[/name]
[name]Peta[/name]
[name]Petrova[/name]

[name]Petra[/name] [name]Alexia[/name]
[name]Petra[/name] [name]Alexandria[/name]

[name]Love[/name]! It makes me think of a beautiful, strong woman. My husband ruled it out because he said it’s too Eastern European-sounding (which we are not), and he thought it would sound out of place.

I really really like it. It’s the kind of name that I wouldn’t consider using for some reason, but I definitely think it’s lovely.
