I really like [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f]! I don’t imagine a particular “type” of person as [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f], and that’s part of why I like it–I think it could suit a variety of personalities/professions/etc. I don’t know who [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] [name_m]Parks[/name_m] is, but I did think, “isn’t there someone from TV/movies with that name?” when I saw [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f]–for context, I haven’t lived in the US for the past few years, but I am from there. I think this association will pass, I wouldn’t worry about it.

As for the second question, yes, but with the caveat that I wouldn’t do it. I do very much like the sound of [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], but to me it feels a little heavy with the weight of its namesake from ancient Greek religion. I prefer a name that’s a bit more of a clean slate, that a child can really make their own, if that makes any sense. Obviously [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] also comes from mythology, but because it’s less well known, and because the sound is more similar to many more modern names, it feels a little more open. So I think [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] work as sisters, but doing so kind of doubles down on the Greek mythology link, which I personally wouldn’t want to do. I’d prefer [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], both obviously ancient Greek, but a little more modern/accessible. But of course if you may be drawn to exactly the rareness and particular symbolism of each name and want to highlight it!

I live in the US, and I’ve never heard of [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] [name_m]Parks[/name_m]. I like [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] quite a lot, and I can picture her as a sister to [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]. The mythology link is quite strong, but not overpowering. I really like [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f], and wouldn’t worry about the connection to [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] [name_m]Parks[/name_m]. I don’t think she’s all that well known, and people will forget about her at some point soon.

I like [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f], but I’m not sure how people would pronounce it. The [name_m]Oxford[/name_m] dictionary says it’s [name_f]FAY[/name_f]-druh or [name_u]FEE[/name_u]-druh. [name_u]Collins[/name_u] dictionary says it’s [name_u]FEE[/name_u]-druh. Wikipedia says it’s [name_u]FEE[/name_u]-druh or [name_m]FED[/name_m]-ruh. Personally I prefer [name_f]FAY[/name_f]-druh and don’t like the others.

I’m not American and have never heard of [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] [name_m]Parks[/name_m].

I can see a [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] being a sister to a [name_f]Persephone[/name_f].

I’m American and I don’t know who [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] [name_m]Parks[/name_m] is.

I think [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] go well together

I love the name [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f], and [name_f]Fae[/name_f] is a great nickname

I absolutely love [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f]! I found it a while ago when I was trying to find a full name for [name_f]Fae[/name_f]/Phae, and I fell in love with the name as a whole (I say [name_f]FAY[/name_f]-druh). I’d imagine a bright, clever, shrewd girl full of energy, and always on the look out for adventure. It sounds like a name that might be found in a fantasy novel, or one set in Ancient Greece or Ancient [name_m]Rome[/name_m].

I’ve never heard of [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] [name_m]Parks[/name_m], and I very much doubt it’d be a lasting association. And I actually love [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] together. They have different P sounds, so I definitely don’t think they sound overly similar. But they are great names that complement each other well I think.

As an avid watcher of all of the RHO____ series, I do know who [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] [name_m]Parks[/name_m] is. She’s one of the better Real Housewives. She’s educated, a go-getter, a mother and just plain funny. She has had problems with her (ex?) husband, [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] and he’s currently incarcerated. [name_m]Just[/name_m] to give you a little description of her.

I think [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] make a nice sibset. I personally don’t care for the name [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] but I can see the appeal.

I really like the name [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f], especially with the “fay” pronunciation. I’m American and was vaguely aware that it was one of the Real Housewives of somewhere-or-other, but I don’t think it’s a super strong connection. [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] go well together, but I would expect a third sibling to also have a Greek mythology name or it would feel mismatched.

If you wanted to remove it a little more from the real housewife, I think the [name_m]French[/name_m] version is Phèdre.

I think [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] is pretty and could totally be sisters for [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]. The only association I have is the [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_u]Cary[/name_u] series whose main character is [name_f]Phaedre[/name_f] (this spelling). I think it’s one of those names that mildly well known but very underused, I don’t think you have to worry about the association, personally.

My first thought is that it’s too close to phallic.

Because they share their first three letters…? What a ridiculous comment.

I like [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f]. It isn’t my style, but I’d love to see it used. I don’t have any associations with it.

I really like the name. I first heard it in the old [name_u]Lee[/name_u] Hazelwood and [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] Sinatra song, ‘Some [name_f]Velvet[/name_f] [name_f]Morning[/name_f]’. I met a little [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] once - she must be about 13 by now - and she was named from the song.
