I love pip as a nn for [name_m]Philip[/name_m]
I really like [name_m]Philip[/name_m]! It’s a shame it is so underused today… One of my former coworkers is a nanny for a family who has a [name_m]Philip[/name_m]. He’s…I think about 4 now? He gets nothing but compliments on his name and is really quite a charming little guy, with an adorable measure of mischief in his blood. Perfectly describes what a [name_m]Philip[/name_m] would be, to me.
With nicknames, I’m really not sure. I prefer the full name myself. [name_u]Phil[/name_u] is alright. [name_m]Pip[/name_m] is adorable but I can’t see it lasting past childhood.
It’s not my favourite name in the world but there’s nothing bad about it either. It just doesn’t wow me personally but I can see the draw of the traditionalism of it. I do love [name_m]Pip[/name_m] though.
As for middles, I like [name_m]Philip[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] best followed by [name_m]Philip[/name_m] [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m].
WDYT of [name_m]Philip[/name_m]? ~ I feel neutral about [name_m]Philip[/name_m]
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it can go without a nickname? ~ Yes, I know/known/met plenty of people that have only gone/go by their full name.
As far as middle names go, which do you like best? I love [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] and [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], slightly preferring [name_m]Philip[/name_m] [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m].
I like [name_m]Philip[/name_m], but [name_u]Phil[/name_u] makes me cringe. It’s very grandpa-ish to me and not in a charming way.
[name_m]Phillips[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] nn pip is so handsome I love it
I like [name_m]Philip[/name_m]! I would say [name_m]Pip[/name_m] as a nn when he’s a little guy, then he could go by [name_m]Philip[/name_m] when older. I’m less excited about [name_u]Phil[/name_u] as a nn
I like [name_m]Philip[/name_m] and love [name_m]Pip[/name_m]. I think it works as a nickname for an adult; in fact I know a (female) [name_m]Pip[/name_m] in her 50s who wears it well.
[name_m]Philip[/name_m] [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] gets my vote — it’s such a handsome, serene combo — but all of your middles sounds good.
Thank you so much for your feedback, Berries!
I love the name Philip but I think for now, I’m going to keep him as a middle name for Magnus.
