I think [name]Rain[/name] would be a cool nickname, especially with a longer first name like [name]Victoria[/name], [name]Clementine[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name] or [name]Anastasia[/name].
I prefer [name]Rain[/name] spelled the natural way.
[name]Rain[/name] is actually a boys name…at least that’s what it says when I look it up but perhaps [name]Raina[/name] or [name]Raine[/name] for a girl. I want to use it for a boy. What do you think?

I like the spelling [name_u]RAIN[/name_u] and it is a cute middle name and is the one my husband and I used for our daughter [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
I like [name_u]Rain[/name_u] for either gender.
It really seems like most of the “goes with everything” qualities of [name_f]Rose[/name_f] could be applied to [name_u]Rain[/name_u], while still having a fresher feel. I’m not sure why it doesn’t get the love of [name_u]Wren[/name_u]?
I only like it spelt [name_u]Rain[/name_u]. “[name_u]Reign[/name_u]” is a very different quality to me.
I do like both [name_f]Raina[/name_f] and [name_f]Reina[/name_f] for girls, but they aren’t actually derived from “rain” the weather. They’re derived from [name_f]Katerina[/name_f] or [name_f]Regina[/name_f].
I love it, but it’s my DD1’s middle name. We used [name_u]Rain[/name_u]. [name_f]Reine[/name_f] is another spelling and means queen, but as it’s [name_m]French[/name_m] it’s probably pronounced differently, but i’m not sure how.
It’s a word name. A very underused word name, so no it doesn’t belong to one gender.
