Thoughts on Renesmae

I love the name Renesmea I think its so pretty and elegant
I know people will automatically think back to twilight when hearing it but ive got my heat set on it
let me know what you think.

I prefer the spelling used in [name_u]Twilight[/name_u] (Renesmee), it would be less confusing and I prefer how it looks

How do you pronounce it? I’d assume it’s ren-es-mee-ah.

I’ll admit it’s a name i like a lot personally and i would consider using in honour of my grandfather Rene, although i would invert the ea in Renesmae!
Although for me the association to twilight is a bit too much…

yes thats the same with me but I just love it so much

this would be my intuitive pronunciation too

i think renesmee is pretty! the twilight association is strong but probably wearing off

ren-es-may

for sure and i agree twilight is wearing off, i just wish [name_f]Renesmee[/name_f] was used in other media than just twilight it would certainly help😂

ahh okay!! that makes more sense :relaxed:

i genuinely think it’s a very pretty name. I do think some people would have negative opinions on it but you’d get that with a lot of names.

many people started calling their kids [name_u]Arya[/name_u] after the Game of Thrones character so i think [name_f]Renesmee[/name_f] would work!

I think it would be a bold choice, since the [name_u]Twilight[/name_u] series is so well-known. Pretty much anyone who was a teenage girl in the 2000s/early 2010s would know that [name_f]Renesmee[/name_f] is [name_f]Bella[/name_f] and Edward’s daughter in the books. I wouldn’t choose it myself, but if you don’t mind the [name_u]Twilight[/name_u] comments, I suppose it’s usable.

I do think of [name_u]Twilight[/name_u] but it’s a pretty name

thank you x

It’s not my style personally, however I know a [name_f]Renesmee[/name_f] who’s probably around 10/12 and she wears it well. Her mom does get a lot of twilight questions/comments (I don’t know about [name_f]Renesmee[/name_f] herself) but if that doesn’t bother you it can work

awh wow thats amazing
think Im going to have to brace myself for them.

I want to love this name, as it has so many elements I love, but it feels fussy to me. The name itself, regardless of spelling, is a little long and clunky when I say it. It really is gorgeous and regal though! [name_m]Just[/name_m] not my style.

I slightly prefer the [name_f]Renesmee[/name_f] spelling since it feels more intuitive, but it does make it more Twilight-related. I don’t think that will be a problem long term though. As another poster said, the [name_u]Twilight[/name_u] association is fading. I work with children (grades 3-5) and it’s not relevant to them, so I’m sure it’ll only be super fans and maybe some parents who will pick up on it.

I think you should go with what you like best! [name_f]Renesmae[/name_f] is a beautiful choice.

aww thank you
I think the different spelling dissociates it with twilight a little bit and I lovee long names
yes I belive by the time she goes to school the whole twilight think wont be relevant to them just the adults ahah x

I find it long and hard to say. If it was a surname, I’d really like it but as a first and a middle its a bit much for me. I like [name_f]Renee[/name_f] and [name_f]Esme[/name_f] separately. If I met someone with the name though, I would be intrigued. Of course I think of [name_u]Twilight[/name_u] but people get the idea of liking names from other movies, shows and books so why should [name_f]Renesmae[/name_f] be any different. Its not my taste personally, but there’s nothing wrong with it.

I’m sorry but I definitely think of Twilight. And I would assume you were a fan. That’s not a bad thing as [name_u]Twilight[/name_u] [name_f]Saga[/name_f] are great books/films but it’s definitely a name I associate with that.
