Thoughts on repeating initials

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] I am expecting my first child - a baby girl in [name_u]August[/name_u]! I am still working on her name - I have one in mind that I am seriously considering, but wondering if the initials would be okay, or too hokey?

The name would give her the initials “RRCC”. Our last name is actually a “Ch” name, so the sound is different even though it’s still a C. My Dad’s initials are RC (he doesn’t have a middle name), so I kinda love the idea that my daughter’s initials would be essentially RC-squared.

I’m not sharing the actual name at this time, but a very close example (same syllables and sounds) is: [name_f]Roberta[/name_f] [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_f]Cate[/name_f] [name_m]Churchill[/name_m]

Please let me know - is it okay to have two repeating initials, or would people think it’s weird and make fun of her?

Totally okay! She’ll mainly be known by the initials “R.C.” anyway.

I definitely think it’s fine.

I love it  I have a [name_u]Noah[/name_u] [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] and it’s never been received poorly! I love alliterative names!

[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t think about initials too much. As long as they’re not literally “WC” you can’t do much wrong.

Actually, I think it’s pretty cool.

I don’t think repeating like that is strange, people wont say anything I don’t think since its not strong repeating sounds, [name_m]Roberts[/name_m] rose and or two ch sounds would sound off but ro ri k ch no issues, anyone picking on her is a jerk and that’s a separate problem

I don’t like repeating initials in a first and last name, but first and middle sound fine. Most parents rarely use middles anyway, unless the child is in trouble! You hear them at graduation, you see a middle initial in some formal usages. They’re more of interest than anything, so go for it.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement!

I wouldn’t use repeating initials myself, but they often sound kind of catchy. I can’t see why they’d cause any teasing, so you should be fine.
