I think [name_u]Riley[/name_u]'s a lovely name for a girl. It would be on my own list if it didn’t clash with our surname.
It’s all boy where I’m from so I can’t see it on a girl at all. It has a really hard, masculine sound [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. That said, I know it is very popular in the States for a girl, and so I think it would would work well, and most would think it has a strong, professional sound.
I prefer [name_u]Riley[/name_u]/[name_u]Reilly[/name_u] on a boy/man. I have only known males with the name (I live in the US).
I like it, but it seems too masculine for a girl, yet too feminine for a boy.
I think it would work on either gender, but I personally prefer it on a boy.
I love [name_u]Riley[/name_u]! I can see it on either gender, although I have only met female Rileys
It’s a masculine name, ergo I don’t like it on a girl.
I always thought it was a girl’s name because Mary-Kate Olsen was a Riley in a movie when I was a kid (lol). I don’t agree with the fuss over it being a boy name, it’s a surname so you can get away with it on a girl in my book.
My thoughts on it is just that it’s quite over-saturated right now, so I’m not sure how well it ages. I imagine it will definitely become dated eventually, like Karen/Brenda/etc., because so many children (girls and boys) will have the name. I do think it’s professional.
I highly dislike it on girls.
