There are entries for [name_m]Severin[/name_m], [name_m]Severus[/name_m], and even [name_m]Severo[/name_m]. (I’m starting to have a fever for names that start with -SEV) BUT NO SEVERN!
What are your thoughts on this name? I find it oddly handsome, specially for a middle name.
It looks like it is misspelled or made up - sorry, I think [name_m]Severin[/name_m] is better with the i in there - and reminds me severim which means I love in Turkish. But [name_m]Severo[/name_m] is really cool too !
I agree with the above poster, I wasn’t sure if Severn was a misspelling. Why not just Sev?
Apparently in the Turkish language it means something along the lines of “love” and “giftedly”?
Also, Sevrin - it’s shorter than [name_m]Severin[/name_m] but feels more complete [name_f]IMO[/name_f] than Severn.
If you can steer away from the SEV - [name_m]Soren[/name_m] might be a good alternative.
Severn is the name of a suburb of Annapolis, Maryland. Since I am not a fan of place names, I dislike Severn (it probably doesn’t matter to most people, but considering that Severn, MD is only about 40 minutes away from me it is too close.)
It’s a nature place name to me, definitely usable–both the mighty [name_u]River[/name_u] Severn in [name_f]England[/name_f] and [name_m]Wales[/name_m] and the modest Severn [name_u]River[/name_u] system in [name_m]Ontario[/name_m] are great associations.
Environmentalist [name_m]David[/name_m] Suzuki has a daughter named Severn, who is an environmentalist in her own right.
