It’s actually an amazing name in my opinion, it’s just that I think of [name_m]Severus[/name_m] Snape immediately and I think others associate it with him as well. But I think that’s up to one self if that’s a deal breaker or not.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the name and I love [name_m]Severus[/name_m] Snape as a character too * not gonna apologize for that * but I don’t think it is usable in real life - because it sounds too medieval for me - what about [name_m]Soren[/name_m] which also has the same meaning?

Probably because of the character, I don’t like it and the ‘Severe’ is very heavy within it. I like the suggested [name_m]Soren[/name_m] instead though.
I think it’s completely inseparable from Snape, the [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] character, especially since he’s a character that produces such strong opinions at both ends of the spectrum. I do like the suggestions of [name_m]Severin[/name_m] and [name_m]Soren[/name_m] though.
What are your thoughts on Severn? Could people look pass the ties with the Severn [name_u]River[/name_u]?
