I’m not usually one for different spellings, but something about [name_f]Sofie[/name_f] is appealing to me. I do have [name_m]German[/name_m] heritage, maybe it’s that, what are your thoughts?
Edited to add - I’m in Australia, Sophie is popular here but not quite as popular as the US I believe!
Personally I’m sick of [name_f]Sofie[/name_f] spelt anyway. But this spelling does look nice.
Not really a fan of this particular spelling, kinda reminds me of the word sofa. [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] has a nice elegance to it being spelled this way.
Aside from its popularity, I love the sound and meaning of [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sofia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]/[name_f]Sofie[/name_f]. [name_f]Sofie[/name_f] is a perfectly fine spelling variation. My favourite version of the name would have to be either the original [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] or the Polish [name_f]Zofia[/name_f]/[name_f]Zosia[/name_f], though.
I’m from Aus too. I personally prefer [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and I wonder if a girl named [name_f]Sofie[/name_f] would need to correct others on the spelling a lot?
Slightly off topic, but my step sister is a [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and she tends to have it as [name_f]Sofie[/name_f] on social media to be ‘different’.
I like it! One of my middles for [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] is [name_f]Sofia[/name_f], and I think that the spelling is softer (?) than [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]. My aunt is [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] so [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] is my way of honouring her.
I knew a [name_f]Sofie[/name_f] actually, and I quite liked her name, but I believe it was short for [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]. I do prefer [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] but I don’t see an issue with [name_f]Sofie[/name_f] either.
I kind of have an odd preference here: [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] > [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] but [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] > [name_f]Sofie[/name_f]. I know, it’s weird. However, I honestly think [name_f]Sofie[/name_f]/[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is a darling name whichever way you spell it:)
I personally prefer [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] over [name_f]Sofie[/name_f], I slightly prefer [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] over [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], and I prefer [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] over [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sophia[/name_f].
I don’t really like it, sorry. I think [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is more elegant
I like it a lot. I actually love the “F” in [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sofie[/name_f]–it just seems so much spunkier!–but I can see why others keep suggesting [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] instead.
I know a [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] so to me, the f looks more natural. Both are gorgeous though!
Mixed opinions!
I can’t put my finger on why I like it better.
Thanks for the responses, we’ll sleep on it for awhile I think
