I am starting to like the sound of [name_f]Talitha[/name_f] every time i say it , it sounds a little more appealing… , and i do like [name_f]Talisa[/name_f] but it’s far too close to Tulisa ( Pop star)
It would be as a middle name spot, I’m not so sure about a first name…
As somebody who already has a baby boy with a pop star name ([name_m]Drake[/name_m]) I can tell you that while the association comes up from time to time, it doesn’t take long for him to own the name as his own and that association to fade away. It’s even less of an issue for these B grade pop stars that likely won’t still be relevant 10-15 years down the road.
I wouldn’t let that one hang-up detour you in your name selection, especially for a middle name.
Btw, i think [name_f]Talisa[/name_f] sounds really nice, and would personally prefer it over [name_f]Talitha[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Talitha[/name_f] is pretty. It means “little girl” and it’s a Biblical phrase used by [name_m]Jesus[/name_m] when he performed a miracle by raising a young girl from the dead (“talitha cumi” - little girl arise!). It also reminds me of the beautiful but tragic Dutch-born actress/model [name_f]Talitha[/name_f] Getty. I think it would be a very distinctive mn choice.
Totally usable as a first name. I know a girl named [name_f]Talitha[/name_f] but until 5 seconds ago I had no idea about the star nor the religious association. I met her in Catholic school so it makes sense that her name was [name_f]Talitha[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Talitha[/name_f], and would gladly use it as a first. Except I have Talaith on my list, so I went with [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] instead. It’s a beautiful and underused name!
I love [name_f]Talitha[/name_f]. I had a book when I was little, can’t remember what it was but the main character was [name_f]Talitha[/name_f] nn [name_u]Tally[/name_u].
I like [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] a lot too but I guess that’s maybe a bit stuff with your other kids’ names?
Cool I was just curious as i had heard it for the first time on the show ex on the beach ( yes im sad i watched it haha) but i was quite surprised as i hadn’t heard it before but the more i heard it the more i thought how nice it sounded. We have A name picked for a girl but was always stuck on a middle (well a 2nd middle) And i was looking at a longer than 2 syllable name as we have [name_f]Kairi[/name_f] [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] in mind already but [name_f]Kairi[/name_f] [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] [name_f]Talia[/name_f] was an umm an arr’er for me then i thought about [name_f]Kairi[/name_f] [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] [name_f]Talitha[/name_f] as a longer ending… but i’m not sure if we are having another but i’m hoping down he line maybe it might happen. Its difficult to trhink about at the mo as my son has extra needs and takes alot of attention up and we already have another child to give the attention tow hen we are not with our son… So its an awfully hard decision to think about will we ever have another or will it be just the 2 children… So i’m most likely just doing this and thinking to keep my mind busy ( Also might be punishing myself a little for the wanting part ! ) Sorry i started to ramble… i should have put this else where no doubt but just wanted to explain… x
I like [name_f]Talitha[/name_f] a lot, actually! It reminds me of [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f], but even more earthy. I feel like [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] sounds more natural, but I do like [name_f]Talitha[/name_f] a lot, and I love the nn [name_u]Tally[/name_u]/[name_u]Tali[/name_u]. I really like the religious association, personally, but I know some wouldn’t. I think [name_u]Bailey[/name_u], [name_f]Liberty[/name_f], and [name_f]Talitha[/name_f] are pretty cool together, but I think it makes a great MN, too, if you aren’t for it up front.
