I am wondering what people think of the name [name]Tallulah[/name]? Its a native American as well as a name with Irish roots (I have Irish roots so I love this connection)…I adore the nn’s lulu and lula! I’m interested in general perception of the name. I don’t personally see it as too out there but I do think it maybe a little frilly. I’m also aware of the arguemnt that it doesn’t age well and that it’s a name that some people maybe couldn’t take too seriously…Though I don’t find it to be overly airy fairy or whimsical just beautifula nd melodic! What do you think?..PLease be honest!!! Also, Does anyone know about its popularity? I’ve no idea!!
Wondeirng what mn would you pair with [name]Talullah[/name] to ground it a bit?
I had been intending to use [name]Valentine[/name] in the middle but [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Valentine[/name] maybe too much? [name]Valentine[/name] with some of my other choices sounds quite classy and vintage but do you think it sounds a bit sugary with [name]Tallulah[/name]?
I love the sound of [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Rose[/name] but I’m so over [name]Rose[/name] in the middle!! Maybe [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Rain[/name]? (love the sound though not sure if this does anything to ground it or [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Mae[/name]…though [name]Mae[/name] just feels a bit of a filler here…Any thoughts?
I love [name]Tallulah[/name]! I’m too chicken to use it, so I used it on a character in a story I wrote. Her nn was [name]Tally[/name]. I’m not great at making pairings for other people but I’ll try. I love [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Rose[/name] but I’m also over [name]Rose[/name] in the middle. I think it will sound best with a one syllable mn though. My favorite that I can think of right now is [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Shea[/name]. And I believe [name]Shea[/name] is Irish too. I like [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Mae[/name] too!
[name]Tallulah[/name] is sooo pretty! I love long over-the-top first names for girls, and the nn [name]Lulu[/name] and [name]Lula[/name] are adorable! I love the sounds of [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Rain[/name] and [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Mae[/name]. I don’t think [name]Mae[/name] sounds like a “filler” like [name]Rose[/name] would. I think [name]Jane[/name] would work well also. Good luck!
I love [name]Tallulah[/name]. My only worry is that it cannot be taken seriously. It’s a shame, too, because it’s so pretty. And I do think that [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Valentine[/name] is a bit much. The nickname [name]Lula[/name] is adorable.
I know this its weird, but I feel like [name]Tallulah[/name] is a name whose usability depends on where you live. Like if your Southern [name]Tallulah[/name] is perfect and gorgeous and glamorous and I love it, but if you live in the northeast or mid-west then it’s a bit strange. If you live on the west coast it’s nice but a bit cutesy. Like I said, I know its weird but that’s how I feel about it, for some reason lol. I actually like the name itself, but as far as usability that’s my two cents.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Tallulah[/name] and plan to use it. I think of [name]Tallulah[/name] Bankhead so it doesn’t make sense when people say it won’t age or is too cutesy. Her nn was Tallu but I plan to use [name]Lula[/name]. I’m not too concerned with middle names so I don’t have any in mind. Guess I’d go with a stronger mn to balance the girliness of [name]Tallulah[/name]- [name]Grey[/name], [name]Lark[/name], [name]Eden[/name], [name]Jade[/name], [name]Wren[/name], [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Reed[/name], [name]Linden[/name]
I generally like short nature names but longer names work well also, especially if she’ll have a 1 or 2 syllable surname
[name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Rosalind[/name]
[name]Madeleine[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
I love [name]Tallulah[/name], it’s cute, girly, quirky and fun all at the same time. Also, it has some good nicknames available; [name]Tallie[/name] and [name]Lulu[/name] being my favourites.
[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Mae[/name]/[name]Rose[/name]/[name]Rain[/name] aren’t my style at all and I don’t really mind the length of [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Valentine[/name].
[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Esme[/name]
[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Willow[/name]
[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Eden[/name]
[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Olive[/name]
[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Alice[/name]
[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Vivienne[/name]
[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] (I know a little girl named this, and she’s gorgeous!)
[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Jasmine[/name]
[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Daisy[/name]
[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
I love the idea of [name]Tallulah[/name]. It’s spunky, the double L sound is very appealing, and there are plenty of great options for nicknames. In reality, though, I just can’t see it working on most people. I haven’t met a [name]Tallulah[/name], but I think the name needs quite the personality to pull off- you’ve got to be as spunky and quirky as [name]Tallulah[/name] is to wear the name. I remember watching the Novogratz show and thinking how calm their [name]Tallulah[/name] seemed compared to her name. She was so composed and gentle-seeming her name just didn’t fit. So yes, I do think [name]Tallulah[/name] is over the top for most people to wear, and I do think it’s a tough name to take seriously. I wouldn’t risk using it because a child may be quiet, reserved, and introspective, in which case I don’t think [name]Tallulah[/name] would be an easy name for that child to have.
If you’re set on [name]Tallulah[/name], I think you need a very classic, sedate middle. [name]Rose[/name] is great, but it is a little bit bland in the middle. I think [name]Rain[/name] and [name]Valentine[/name] are a bit much with this first, but I do like [name]Mae[/name]. Some other ideas:
[name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Jane[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Madeleine[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name]
[name]Naomi[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name]/[name]Chloe[/name]
[name]Gabrielle[/name]
I love [name]Tallulah[/name] and would use it if DH would ever let me! Lots of great potential for nicknames, great meaning, flows off the tongue, etc. What about [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Eve[/name]? Did someone say [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Jane[/name]? I like that too. I agree that mn [name]Rain[/name] doesn’t ground it, but it sure is pretty. That would get my vote!
