Thoughts on Teagan: better on a boy or girl?

I love the name [name_u]Teagan[/name_u]. I can’t decided if I like it better for a boy or a girl. I prn. TEE-gan. I love both the meanings (boy- little poet, girl- beautiful) and could envision the name on either gender. It might sound ‘trendy’ but I still like it. I’m trying to figure out if it should go on my favorite boy names list or my favorite girl’s.

What do you think nameberries, is [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] better on a girl or boy? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you know any [name_u]Teagan[/name_u]'s? Thanks!

I only know of it on a girl (spelled [name_u]Tegan[/name_u] and pronounced TEE-gan) but I think it can work both ways equally, like [name_u]Reagan[/name_u]/[name_u]Regan[/name_u].

I have only known female [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] / [name_u]Tegan[/name_u] s. I live in [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_f]England[/name_f] USA so it may simply be my area. However, I am aware that it is used on both males and females so would not be shocked to meet a boy named [name_u]Teagan[/name_u]. It is a great name!

[name_u]Teagan[/name_u] is a girls name only to me. I’ve only ever heard it on girls and would find it odd on a boy.

I love it on a girl, adore it on a boy. I have it on both my lists, higher on my boy list. I have never met or known a [name_u]Teagan[/name_u]/[name_u]Tegan[/name_u], male or female.

I’ve never met a [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] but to me it reads girl. [name_m]Teague[/name_m] is male to me.

I know several, all female. I wouldn’t be hugely shocked to meet a male [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] though because it feels unisex by nature.

I like Tegen purely for a girl though… just the spelling is so soft and feminine to me even though I pronounce them the same. Having said that I also have a soft spot for the pn teh-[name_m]GAN[/name_m] rather than TEEG-n which is the traditional Welsh (vs Irish) pronunciation.

[name_m]Teague[/name_m] is a nice suggestion in theory but is actually a slur in [name_f]Ireland[/name_f].

My best friend is Teigan (same pronunciation). I love her name. I have met two boys named [name_u]Teagan[/name_u], so I think it could work for either.

I don’t like it on either gender. It’s slightly better on a boy

I used to think it was all boy bc of the nickname “[name_m]Teague[/name_m]” but now the only Teagans I know are both girls…so I associate it with girls I guess.
