Husband and I both are liking [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] as a FN but my family background is Polish so thinking of going with [name_f]Tesa[/name_f] spelling in a nod to Polish heritage… But worried about possibly making prononciation or spelling difficult. Thoughts on [name_f]Tesa[/name_f]?
Tesa works but I prefer the spelling with two s “[name_f]Tessa[/name_f].”
I like [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] much better… I read [name_f]Tesa[/name_f] like it has a z instead of an s… so [name_f]Teza[/name_f] and it also at a glance looks like [name_f]Tesla[/name_f] to me. This is just my personal opinion though and definitely go with what feels and looks right to you! Absolutely LOVE the name it’s so classy and beautiful
I prefer [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] because [name_f]Tesa[/name_f] looks like tez-uh to me. I just don’t see [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] as a name typically spelled differently so I’d assume the spelling was to change the pronunciation. I don’t think [name_f]Tesa[/name_f] is unusable with the tess-uh pronunciation though.
I prefer [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], I think it looks more complete and I agree that [name_f]Tesa[/name_f] looks like it would be more of a z sound in the middle than a s sound. It’s not completely unuseable in any way, and I do like the idea of it being a nod to your heritage, however I really do prefer [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] thoughts exactly
I would still pronounce ‘[name_f]Tesa[/name_f]’ like ‘[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]’, but I probably would spell it with a double ‘s’ unless I was told otherwise.
I prefer [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], it just looks more complete, if that makes sense?
Isn’t [name_f]Tesa[/name_f] more like Tee-sah? because I come from a place with a lotta spanish speakers so I think that’s the assumption people will make. I say just go ahead with [name_f]Tessa[/name_f].
Unfortunately, I feel people might pronounce [name_f]Tesa[/name_f] more like ‘Teaser’, which might not be ideal. You can always go for a polish middle name!
I prefer [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]. Like previous posters have said, [name_f]Tesa[/name_f] looks incomplete.
Thanks all! The consensus is very helpful
I admit i prefer [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]!
I prefer double s’s, mostly because I’m just used to it but I suppose [name_f]Tesa[/name_f] would work as well.
Tesa works just as well as [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] but due to the single S, [name_f]Tesa[/name_f] just reminds me of [name_f]Tesla[/name_f]’s or i accidentally read it as Tee-sah, but that’s very easy to get used to.
Go with [name_f]Tess[/name_f].
[name_f]Tesa[/name_f] isnt clear if it should be TEE-suh or TAY-suh. The double ‘s’ clarifies the pronunciation.
Maybe something polish in the MN?
Love the name… prefer [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]!
Good luck
I would go [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
Tesa could end up getting pronounced teaser which could cause bullying issues
