i absolutley loveee it ! it’s so underused, its vintage, has charm and it’s elegant, what’s not to like
I love it! And the nickname [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] is adorable. TBH though, I am well aware that it’s not for everyone and could come across as clunky and heavy. [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is the combo that comes to mind
It’s definitely in my top dozen girl names. I just love it! But then, I tend to prefer slightly “clunky” names. Favorites include [name_f]Prudence[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], [name_u]Howard[/name_u], [name_u]Walter[/name_u], and [name_u]Douglas[/name_u].
I don’t like it at all, but that is me. I much prefer the Spanish version [name_f]Inez[/name_f].
As a devout [name_u]Christian[/name_u], I love the meaning of the name [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]. If only [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] sounded as pretty as its meaning. [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] also means lamb and has a more flattering cadence.
I have an [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], she is nearly 18 months.
It raises eyebrows when people ask her name but that makes me love it more!
We also have a 5yo [name_f]Edith[/name_f] so we are massive fans of the ‘old and clunky’ vibe (we realised it’s the same as the siblings in Despicable Me, but only children seem to make the connection so it’s fine).
I like it and I also really like the nickname [name_f]Aggie[/name_f].
Same, I adore the meaning. Unfortunately I’ve known too many Rachels and it has a distinct time period feel to it…
That’s a lovely sibset! I adore vintage names as well. Did you have other names on your shortlist for [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]?
[name_f]Aggie[/name_f] is really cute!
Beauuuuuutiful Agnes is so awesome!
The song “Agnes” by Glass Animals convinced me to love it
I love [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]! It’s a very strong, beautiful name. X
