What are your thoughts on the name [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f]? What middle names & sibling names go well with it?
For me it almost sounds like [name_u]Allison[/name_u]-A. I am not very helpful with middle names but if you let me know some names you like I could try.
As a double barrel it’s OK. It’s not a particularly natural combination, although people would adjust. If you like it I think a one syllable or at least short middle would be best, [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] are the first two to come to mind.
Sibling names, you may or may not want to do another double barrel, with [name_f]Alice[/name_f] generally I like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f], and [name_f]Laura[/name_f] among others.
Personally, I like Alesana more. It’s pronounced like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f] but to me it looks prettier. But I’m not sure what middle names would work well with [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f] except maybe something beginning with a consonant. Nothing flows too well. Sorry, I’m not much help
If you say it fast, it sounds a bit like [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f].
Personally, it feels a little nursery-rhymey, like [name_f]Meggie[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] or something like that.
I don’t dislike it, but I agree that it does run together. To me it sounds like Alessana (like [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] without the dr)
It definitely runs together when I say it. I agree with the others. Beautiful names independently-- just maybe not used in combination.
Aliceanna is a major road here in [name_m]Baltimore[/name_m], pronounced ah - [name_m]LAY[/name_m] - see- ana.
Everyone from this area would have to double take. [name_m]Just[/name_m] an fyi . I’m not sure it matters elsewhere.
I found the name [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f] in [name_m]Baltimore[/name_m], near to where I work - and everyone I know pronounces it like the two separate names “[name_f]Alice[/name_f]” and then “[name_f]Anna[/name_f]”. I am surprised their is not more love, as its similar to names like [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] and [name_f]Arianna[/name_f] that are popular today. Good to know. Thanks for the feedback.
This is exactly what I was going to say, but I have always pronounced that street the way I would pronounce the name [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. I had no idea it was pronounced that way! I’d like to say I’ll make an effort to pronounce it the right way from now on, but it’s pretty ingrained in my mind as [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f].
I actually quite like this name. Not sure whether you mean as a double barrel or as a fn/mn combo, but either way I like it. I think it rolls off the tongue nicely, but then I’m used to thinking it in my head when I see the street, so … maybe it takes some getting used to? I will say that if I heard this name (instead of seeing it written down), I would likely assume it was spelled more like Alessana or something like that. Not a big deal at all, but the only other thing I can think to say about it.
