I’ve made it a point to try and go through every single name alphabetically on this site. Our list is a mess at the moment and [name_m]Calix[/name_m] is one of the names that has really stood out to me. I’m still liking [name_m]Birch[/name_m] as a middle name to stay with the sort of wilderness themed middles that my husband already had going with his own son. I think [name_m]Calix[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m] is adorable and it could work in the long run, but we still have a long way to go.
I really like [name_m]Calix[/name_m]. I have only ever seen it used once before, and it was a girl and spelled Calyx, but I much prefer the -ix spelling.
I think [name_m]Calix[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m] is cute, unique, but still something that looks and sounds good on a professional adult as well. Different enough, but not so different as to make anyone cringe. lol.
I like [name_m]Calix[/name_m]! I like other [name_u]Cal[/name_u]- names like [name_m]Callahan[/name_m] more, but [name_m]Calix[/name_m] is modern, handsome and fun.
I love [name_m]Birch[/name_m] but I dont think it sounds good with [name_m]Calix[/name_m]'s “x” ending. [name_m]Calix[/name_m] [name_m]Boone[/name_m]/[name_u]Beau[/name_u]?
[name_m]Calix[/name_m] is great! I’ve always loved the feminine [name_f]Calixta[/name_f], but I really like the sound of [name_m]Calix[/name_m].
I love [name_m]Calix[/name_m]! I think [name_m]Calix[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m] super unique & handsome without being odd
As always thank you guys! I feel like I’m finally headed in the right direction. My fiancé and I are pretty much sold, but you never know.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the sound of [name_m]Calix[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m].
I like the name!!
Although I am in medical school and it reminded me of the calyx in the kidney… but I don’t think most people will make that association. [name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to make sure you’re informed! Flowers also have a reproductive calyx which is a slightly nicer variation of the biological term.
Well we can only hope that kidney’s don’t become a trendy thing
I’m not a fan. All I can hear is “cowlicks” when I say it!
I have to say it reminds me of the medical term too. But like pp said, I doubt enough people would make the association for it to be a problem in any way. [name_u]Cal[/name_u] would be a cool nickname!
[name_m]Said[/name_m] allowed it reminds me of the kallax shelving unit from [name_f]IKEA[/name_f]. But if you introduced your baby as [name_m]Calix[/name_m] I would quickly forget the shelves and marvel at the name x
Never heard of it before. Interesting. I think I like it
[name_m]Calix[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m] is cute, go for it!
I think we’ve pretty much decided on [name_m]Calix[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m] (nickname either [name_u]Cal[/name_u] or even [name_u]Cali[/name_u] is an option for me) so thank you all for the feedback! Now to pass it by our parents and I’m a bit worried about how his parents will react even though their opinion will not impact our decision. They’re a bit more old fashioned so fingers crossed!
I love the name [name_m]Calix[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m]. My cousin goes by that name ([name_m]Calix[/name_m]) and it has worked out great.
I’ve never heard [name_m]Calix[/name_m] before. I think it sounds fresh and modern, and while I probably wouldn’t use it myself, it seems that you like it a lot, and it won’t age terribly or anything. [name_m]Calix[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m] sounds a bit like a fantasy/dystopian character, but that’s definitely not a bad thing, at least in my books. I think the combo is edgy and cool, you should go for it.
It sort of looks invented to me, like someone smooshed together [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] and [name_m]Felix[/name_m]. That’s just my first impression, though, as I’ve never heard the named before
