I recently thought of the name Charlou for a girl, as an alternative to Charlie/Charli.
It is pronounced “shar-loo”, accent on the 2nd syllable.
I’ve never heard it anywhere before, so I was just wondering, what do you think of it?

How is it pronounced? I imagine Char-low
Whoops, forgot to mention that. It is pronounced “shar-loo”, accent on the 2nd syllable.
It’s kinda cute! I think people would be a little confused on the pronunciation but I like it.
It’s cute! I would use it as a nickname.
It’s sweet.
It reminds me of names like [name_f]Lilou[/name_f], [name_f]Milou[/name_f] and [name_f]Malou[/name_f], and also of smoosh names like [name_f]Emmylou[/name_f] or [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f].
It’s pretty sweet. I knew a [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]-[name_u]Lou[/name_u] and this feels easier to say. Charlou feels more complete
I think it would be cute as a nickname for something like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Louise[/name_u] or [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f].
I agree with @choupette! I think it sounds very sweet as an alternative nickname for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], but I wouldn’t use it as a first name, personally.
It’s cute on a child, but I struggle to picture it on an adult. If you’re dead set on Charlou, I suggest first giving your daughter a full name like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Louise[/name_u] or [name_f]Charlene[/name_f] [name_f]Luana[/name_f] or something along those lines to give your daughter the option of nicknames instead of forcing her to have a nickname for the rest of her life.
