Sadly it makes me think of chastise. [name_u]Chase[/name_u] could be a good nickname.

Reminds me of a feminine [name_f]Chasity[/name_f] but I think thatā€™s cause of the [name_m]Chas[/name_m]- and strong T sound :joy: I think of Fastinā€™, itā€™s a nice name just not for me like the poll says

Not crazy about the historical meaning of this one ā€œdiscipline/punish.ā€ I would pass on this one for that reason, though I do like the sound.

I meant to click lose it on the poll! I understand the appeal strictly speaking sound,but the meaning kills it. where I live people still use this word in daily conversations, so itā€™d be like naming your baby ā€˜scoldingā€™

iā€™m actually stuck on the pronunciation. is it chass or chase?
the first pronunciation when i tried saying it out loud went from reminding me of chester to sounding like justin with a cold :joy:

i donā€™t mind it at all, but the meaning loses points for me.

I went to junior high with a boy named Chastin. He was a bit of a terror. Haha. I liked the name at the time, but now that itā€™s sat with me for many years, I donā€™t think Iā€™d use it. However, itā€™s not the worst name. The one I knew pronounced it like [name_m]Chas[/name_m]-tin (like cast), but I could see people saying [name_u]Chase[/name_u]-tin, too.

I went to school with a boy named Chaston. Heā€™s one of the funniest guys I ever met. Itā€™s not a name I would ever use for my own children, but I wouldnā€™t mind seeing it on someone elseā€™s.

The word makes it a no-go in my opinion.

I would change the spelling.
