Sadly it makes me think of chastise. [name_u]Chase[/name_u] could be a good nickname.

Reminds me of a feminine [name_f]Chasity[/name_f] but I think that’s cause of the [name_m]Chas[/name_m]- and strong T sound :joy: I think of Fastin’, it’s a nice name just not for me like the poll says

Not crazy about the historical meaning of this one ā€œdiscipline/punish.ā€ I would pass on this one for that reason, though I do like the sound.

This is my problem with this one too, sorry

[name_u]Chase[/name_u] or [name_m]Ace[/name_m] for a nickname?

I meant to click lose it on the poll! I understand the appeal strictly speaking sound, but the meaning kills it. where I live people still use this word in daily conversations, so it’d be like naming your baby ā€˜scolding’

I don’t like the meaning, sorry.

i’m actually stuck on the pronunciation. is it chass or chase?
the first pronunciation when i tried saying it out loud went from reminding me of chester to sounding like justin with a cold :joy:

i don’t mind it at all, but the meaning loses points for me.

I went to junior high with a boy named Chastin. He was a bit of a terror. Haha. I liked the name at the time, but now that it’s sat with me for many years, I don’t think I’d use it. However, it’s not the worst name. The one I knew pronounced it like [name_m]Chas[/name_m]-tin (like cast), but I could see people saying [name_u]Chase[/name_u]-tin, too.

I went to school with a boy named Chaston. He’s one of the funniest guys I ever met. It’s not a name I would ever use for my own children, but I wouldn’t mind seeing it on someone else’s.

The word makes it a no-go in my opinion.

I would change the spelling.
