Thoughts on the name D'Lila?

I am absolutely obsessed with the name [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]

I came across this way to spell it…

D’[name_f]Lila[/name_f] and I kind of like it.

What do you guys think of the name itself and spelling?

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you guys think that apostrophes in names are okay?

Please let me know your opinions.

Thanks so much!!!

I love the name [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], but I honestly hate that spelling. It looks kind of childish and unattractive; I think it would create a lot of unnecessary confusion. Again, I think [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is a lovely name, but spelling it D’[name_f]Lilah[/name_f] completely ruins it.

I agree with the above comment. I don’t really like most spellings that are just spelled that way to make it less boring (My mom did this, and even though my name is coincidentally an alternate spelling, I dislike it). I would go with [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]. I think that D’[name_f]Lila[/name_f] loses the charm that [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] has, unfortunately.

I agree with the previous posters. Stick with [name_f]Delilah[/name_f].

I agree. D’lila looks like a made up name for a Bratz doll. I have a different spelling to my name, and it’s always annoyed me. Spelling of a name is not like changing your hair colour because you’re bored of it. I fail to understand how someone can be bored of a spelling, spelling of a name is fixed.

I don’t like it at all, unfortunately. [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is pretty, but D’[name_f]Lila[/name_f] looks kind of silly.

I think [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is much prettier.

Stick with [name_f]Delilah[/name_f].

In the spirit of Freakonomics, I don’t think this spelling would enhance your child’s life. [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is going to raise some eyebrows anyway.

I kinda wanna say it [name_f]DEE[/name_f]-[name_m]LY[/name_m]-luh, like separating the syllables instead of deh-[name_m]LY[/name_m]-luh. Unless the name originally has an apostrophe in it (like some Hawaiian names), it looks tacky.

[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is absolutely beautiful. D’lila is terrible. It completely ruins the name.
