Me and my husband have been bouncing around names for a while now. Well a new one just came up for a girl.
[name]Echo[/name].
We just love the sound of it and a plus is that we love the Greek myth!!
We want some opinions So what do you think??

I prefer the spelling Eko, though itās masculine, to seem like more a NAME name than a word name.
I dred to think of the teasing at school, Cooooo Eeeeeeee! If your in Australia. Seems rather tacky to me and I canāt picture it on a grown woman either.
I donāt mind [name]Echo[/name]. However, I have been reading The Hunger Games (and The [name]Ellie[/name] Chronicles) over the past couple of weeks so i may be swayed by the names in those booksā¦[name]Echo[/name] would be right at home with [name]Homer[/name], Prim, [name]Rue[/name] and [name]Cinna[/name]! I think it is kind of cute!
I think itās very pretty. I also like the mythology story and I like word names.
I would prefer [name]Echo[/name] on a boy. And I think I would use it as a nn rather than a full but for what Iām not sure.
Iāve recently convinced a friend to name her dog [name]Echo[/name] so Iām obviously on board.
I love [name]Echo[/name] and the mythology behind it, but I donāt think it works too well on a grown woman. I would love to see someone prove me wrong though, and I think it makes a wonderful middle name.
I think itās OK. I definitely agree with a previous poster about it being better suited as a middle name for sure!
I love [name]Echo[/name]! I donāt know whether I could use it myself, but I think itās gorgeous. It makes me think of a sort of silver mist, for some reason - I like it a lot! I especially love the name [name]Echo[/name] [name]Primrose[/name] or [name]Echo[/name] [name]Skye[/name] (though [name]Echo[/name] [name]Skye[/name] maybe just a bit too floatyā¦)
I love [name]Echo[/name]! I used to have a good friend who named her first daughter [name]Echo[/name] [name]Monet[/name]. I lost contact with her a little after [name]Echo[/name] was born (who they nnād [name]Emmy[/name]), so I donāt know how she wears it, but I really love her name. Her siblings are [name]Elijah[/name] (EJ), and twin little sisters [name]Edyn[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name], I believe. It seems completely wearable to me, but I think a nn does help make it more usable. I think other Greek mythology names (such as [name]Athena[/name], [name]Persephone[/name], or [name]Ariadne[/name]) are more usable, but I still love seeing [name]Echo[/name] used and considered!
[name]Echo[/name] [name]Monet[/name] is gorgeous. I think itās one of those names that you really need to be brave with. I love it, but not sure I could use it as a first name.
I met a little [name]Echo[/name] the other day actually⦠and to be honest it did not suit that cute little girl at all! It seems harsh when her mom was calling for herā¦
Maybe as a middle name⦠but as a FN i dont think it would age well either!
I love it. It makes me think of [name]Bob[/name] [name]Dylan[/name]'s high school girlfriend, [name]Echo[/name] Helstrom, who inspired the song Girl from the [name]North[/name] Country.
Iām not a fan honestly.
I have a friend who has decided if she were to ever have children one would be [name]Echo[/name]. I also really like that itās not popular and the Greek Myth connection is great and grounding for the name. I feel that if [name]Bronx[/name] and [name]Maxi[/name] are names being used why not [name]Echo[/name]? Itās MUCH better than those. I think [name]Echo[/name] is unisex, though mostly girl without the ballerina skirt. What middle name choices have you thought of?
I can imagine the playground teasing would be brutal for a child named [name]Echo[/name]. I love the myth too, but Iād never use for a human. (A parrot, maybe?)
I like it for a boy
I knew a girl in her mid/late 20s named [name]Echo[/name], so I can definitely see it past the ālittle girlā age. I think there is some potential for the āechoā jokes getting old, but thatās probably the case with every name.
I think [name]Echo[/name] would be an incredibly obnoxious name to wear in real life. It would be particularly bad in grade school, but even in adult life youād probably get a lot of cheesy ā[name]Say[/name] that again?ā remarks. Yes, every name is teasable⦠but some are way more teasable than others.
I have wanted to like [name]Echo[/name] for awhile, and I do love [name]Ever[/name]. Your reasons are good enough to use it!
