Thoughts on the name Enya?

I stumbled across this one the other day and I love it! It’s an Irish name meaning “fire.” I think it really fits the current “E” name trend for girls and matches popular sounds from [name_f]Anya[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f] (awhn-nah), and [name_u]Ember[/name_u]. It hits that sweet spot most parents seem to be going for: unique yet recognizable. I think it’s beatiful.

ETA: just wanted to share that this isn’t a name I’m personally considering, but thought was an interesting one to discuss! I also think of the singer first. I agree that it’s a positive association. :slight_smile:

I do prefer [name_f]Anya[/name_f], but [name_f]Enya[/name_f] is nice, and I do agree that its unique yet recognisable.
I do adore the meaning of ‘fire’!

I think of the singer who goes by [name_f]Enya[/name_f], her music is beautiful so a good association. I think it has an interesting sound and great meaning, I actually really like it.

I love [name_f]Enya[/name_f]! I actually prefer it to [name_f]Anya[/name_f] because I think it’s softer. The meaning is also awesome!
