Some of you may heard one of the girls from Teen Mom named her daughter this and as someone who usually strays from names that are classic and well know I have to say I love it! It’s a good alternative [name_f]IMO[/name_f] to something more common like [name_u]Jackie[/name_u] or the boys name [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] (or my friends son who is named [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m]) I just really like names that are uncommon but not so much that people just shake their heads and I think Jaxie is the way to go it’s just cute to me I can see a little blonde haired girl running around with that name.
I think it’s too… cutesy. Won’t age well at all. It seems she wasn’t thinking about the future and what it will be like when her daughter wants a career.
I think it would be cute as a nickname for [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] or something else, but I don’t like it on its own. I do have a little bit of a soft spot for [name_f]Nixie[/name_f] and [name_f]Roxy[/name_f] / [name_f]Roxie[/name_f].
I think it’s adorable! But for a nickname. I wouldn’t use it as a name all on it’s own.
I think it’s cute as a nn for [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] or Jacquelina.
Jaxie seems a bit nicknamy to me, though I can see someone with this name. Also, out of the list of girl names in your sig, I’d say [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f] is my favorite (mostly because of the association to the character named [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f] in the show Lost Girl).
I don’t care for Jaxie. It’s too cutesy and I can’t picture it on a teenager, adult, or older woman.
I think it’s an okay nickname but a full name should be given. I don’t think it will age well.
I agree that it’s too cutesy. I really hate it.
And I really tried to like it, haha. I considered that it was almost [name_u]Jackie[/name_u] and would be a cute nn for [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] but it just sounds like a kr8tyv spin-off of [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]/[name_m]Jaxon[/name_m].
On its own it sounds quite superficial and shallow. As a nn it would be fine.
I can’t picture it on a girl at all! It sounds like a cutesy nickname for [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] so I immediately think of it as a boys name!
Well, it’s not really a name, isn’t it? It’s made up, overly cutesy and unappealing.
Wait, does jacksie not mean the same thing in the USA? In [name_m]Britain[/name_m] it means arse, and I assume Jaxie would be pronounced exactly the same.
@jackal I don’t think I’ve ever heard that word before, much less being used in substitute for ass. Maybe I’ll start saying it around children instead so they won’t have any idea what I mean. Lol

Personally I would have a hard time not laughing out loud if I met someone called Jaxie.
That’s what I love about Nameberry! I learn something new each day! Thanks for the info, jackal
This was my first thought too! There’s no way you could use Jaxie in the Uk! And ‘jacksie’ is not a cutesy, child-friendly euphemism either- its really horrible slang.
I first heard the word jacksie on an episode of [name_u]Jaime[/name_u] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]. He was roasting a chicken with herbs and he said, “just shove it up the jacksie.” I know that UK slang is not the same as US slang, but still, I can’t imagine naming a kid this. It would be like naming a little girl [name_f]Fanny[/name_f], which doesn’t have the same connotation here as in the US, but I would think that the UK meaning is well known enough here as to make it off limits.
At first I was going to say that it would make a cute nickname but when I read that it’s a slang term in the UK, I changed my opinion. While I live in the US, we travel to the UK every other year and have family from there. I’d hate just knowing that it’s used that way.
Definitely not a fan of the name on it’s own at all. But… I wanted to comment… [name_u]Madigan[/name_u] is an AMAZING name. I love it!
