[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I’m not a mom and won’t be any time soon, but I am a name enthusiast!
I would like to know your opinion on the name [name_m]Kyler[/name_m] and some middle names that might go with it! I’m thinking of [name_m]Kyler[/name_m] for a baby boy btw! Thanks!
I’ve met exactly one [name_m]Kyler[/name_m] in my life. (He’s in his early 40’s now.) It’s very unusual. [name_m]Just[/name_m] be prepared for everyone to call him “Killer” and not always as a joke. Some people sincerely thought that was his name.
Unfortunately, I believe it’s one of those names that people will think you made up because of [name_u]Kyle[/name_u] and [name_u]Tyler[/name_u]. Sucks when that happens. If that doesn’t bother you, it’s a perfectly fine name.
[name_m]Kyler[/name_m] was one of my favorite names when I was 16, in the early 2000s. It personally feels too trendy and made up to me now, but I think it would fit in fine with the Kadens and Archers of today
I used to really like [name_m]Kyler[/name_m], but now not so much… It’s just a bit awkward to say imo
I’d pair it with a classic/traditional name like [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_m]William[/name_m], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] or [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
I’m glad to see [name_m]Kyler[/name_m] being considered. I have an 18 month old boy with that name. We call him [name_m]Ky[/name_m] just as often as [name_m]Kyler[/name_m]. I love the nickname. We actually picked the nickname first and then searched for a longer name.
I have never experienced anyone mistaking it for “Killer”, though I often get misheard as saying “[name_u]Tyler[/name_u]” I’m hoping [name_m]Kyler[/name_m] will pick up in popularity soon so this mistake is less likely.
Although at the time I saw this as strictly a boy’s name, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it for a girl, following the popularity of [name_f]Kylie[/name_f] and [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]. What do you think?
I know one, who is in his early 20s now, and he always got teased for having a “baby name” and definitely got the “Killer” comments. I think the name has a sweet, little boy connotation to it, but I can’t picture a 50 year old, grandpa [name_m]Kyler[/name_m] (which, of course, there will be…but I’m just saying, it’s hard to picture, whereas I could easily picture a 5 year old [name_m]David[/name_m] or a 50 year old [name_m]David[/name_m], if that makes sense). I personally don’t care for the name, but can see why one might.
With [name_m]Kyler[/name_m], I would definitely pair it with a classic, traditional name. Something like [name_m]William[/name_m], [name_m]Steven[/name_m], [name_m]David[/name_m], [name_m]Andrew[/name_m], etc.
