[name_m]Hi[/name_m]!
We love love the name [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f], and its meaning “the firey one”, but are not sure because we feel like it’s a bit too long. Also, we are afraid that people might associate it with the book. So what do you guys think?
I don’t know the book, and I love the name. I know someone named [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f], it’s really pretty
I’ve read the book [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] so yeah I automatically associate the name with the book- but
at least it’s a good book. Besides the novel, the name itself is beautiful but it’s getting extremely
popular. I’ve encountered 4 girls named [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] in 2 weeks at my aunt’s daycare and know a
coworker who’s pregnant and is also considering the name [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f].
I can also guarantee you it will be shortened to [name_f]Sera[/name_f]/[name_f]Sara[/name_f] unless you tell people to use some other form like “[name_f]FiFi[/name_f]” but the majority will resort to using some sort of nickname. It sucks but that’s usually the case with longer names.
I don’t know anything about a book, so I don’t associate the name with it. I do think its very sweet and princessy, which isn’t a bad thing and I only met one. She was the sweetest little girl and really made me love the name more.
I also don’t make an association with a book, and it’s such a beautiful name. So elegant, refined, and unique. I also don’t think length will be an issue. It’s the same number of syllables (4) as many favorites, such as [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], so it fits right in (while standing out due to the stunning sound)!
I love it, I prefer it spelt [name_f]Serafina[/name_f] but it’s such a lovely name. I have never heard of the book.
[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] has been my top choice for a girl for the last five years. I know about the book, but never read it so it wouldn’t even cross my mind if you didn’t mention it. [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]'s beautiful, strong fiery, sweet and just… stunning. I love it so much, but then again, my list is full of long, long frilly names like this one. So it’s just my style.
It is a gorgeous name and I have never heard of the book! Judging by the comments, it doesn’t look like that many people have. I say go ahead and use it!
I think I’ve heard of the book but I think of [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] [name_m]Garner[/name_m] and [name_m]Ben[/name_m] Affleck’s daughter first. I think it’s a gorgeous name and I agree that the meaning is an added bonus. It’s definitely not too long and I also don’t know how likely it is to be shortened. There are a lot of kids who go by 4-syllable full names nowadays. I know girls who are just [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Ariana[/name_f], etc. and they don’t have issues with people trying to shorten their names. It’s possible people may try to give her a nickname but they will listen if you shut it down. Personally, I love the nickname Phin/[name_u]Finn[/name_u] for [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f].
I don’t know the book but [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] is a lovely name!
I can’t make the association with whatever book you mentioned. You can always shorten it. I like it.
I am not aware of the book and I don’t think [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] is too long. It’s actually a very pretty name.
