Ooooh, great list!
[name_f]Avila[/name_f] - This sounds like a Jewish name to me, because of it similarity to [name_f]Havilah[/name_f], and I’d be surprised to hear it on someone who wasn’t Jewish? I’m not actually sure if it’s a Jewish name though!
[name_f]Adaya[/name_f] - It sounds like an ancient or Biblical place name to me for some reason? [name_f]Adaya[/name_f], Antalya… it does have a nice sound though.
[name_f]Lilian[/name_f] - [name_f]Lilian[/name_f] is so sweet and pretty, and this spelling makes it feel so vintage and dainty. It makes me think of the 1920s actress [name_f]Lilian[/name_f] [name_f]Gish[/name_f]. I generally prefer [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], but [name_f]Lilian[/name_f] feels more delicate and old-fashioned in a good way. [name_f]Lilian[/name_f] feels more like a quiet, reserved girl and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] more like a warm, friendly one.
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] - You know I love [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]! It just feels so magical, strong yet feminine, and so enchanting. It’s stunning and unique. The kind of woman who draws every eye in the room. I like the association with The [name_u]Golden[/name_u] Compass myself, but since you’re not comfortable with that I’d avoid [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] - I think because it’s quite an unusual name, and most people’s only association with the name will be the character, you’d probably get ‘like in The [name_u]Golden[/name_u] Compass’? comments.
[name_f]Cara[/name_f] - I really like how grounded and down-to-earth [name_f]Cara[/name_f] is. She feels like a girl who would be generally good-natured and pleasant to be around, level-headed and dependable, someone who doesn’t get upset or angry a lot. The friend who’d stand by you loyally but also honest enough to tell you when you’ve messed up.
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] - I don’t hate [name_f]Olive[/name_f], but I don’t particularly like it either. [name_f]Olive[/name_f]‘s simple unfussiness is refreshing and stands out amongst the many, many super feminine and princessy girls’ names out there (much as I love those!). It does give me an image of a stereotypically unpleasant, sour or frumpy girl, since book characters named [name_f]Olive[/name_f] are usually like that?!
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] - [name_f]Helena[/name_f] feels so stately and regal, it makes me think of a queen or an aristocratic lady from the olden days. It has a heavier feel to it to me, like velvet curtains or something. It feels strong and solid but still clearly feminine and beautiful.
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] for you, with its musical and religious connections - [name_m]Saint[/name_m] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] being the patron saint of musicians! [name_m]Even[/name_m] though I don’t think Adventists have saints?! haha. It’s also really sweet and feminine and princessy, it’s a classic but not super common for generations like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Mary[/name_f], which makes it a great fit with many of your other names like [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. I really like the idea [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Adele[/name_f] for sisters too.
[name_f]Eilidh[/name_f] - This has a really pretty sound, but it doesn’t look that appealing to me visually. Not sure how else to spell it though, as something like Aylee would be rather silly! I also think it might be a bit strange for someone in [name_u]America[/name_u] to use [name_f]Eilidh[/name_f] if they aren’t Irish and don’t have a particular connection to the country.
[name_f]Christiana[/name_f] - [name_f]Christiana[/name_f] has a beautiful sound, and I like how it feels quite European. It sounds like the name of an island though? (Okay, I just looked it up and it is the name of a group of Greek islands!)
And I think it’d be hard to get her to use her full name other than in formal situations. Once you get to 4+ syllables I think most people would use a nickname most of the time! [name_f]Christiana[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ana[/name_f] or even [name_f]Cara[/name_f] would be lovely. Did you have a nn in mind already?
