[name]Catherine[/name] “[name]Kit[/name]/[name]Kitty[/name]”
[name]Genevieve[/name] “[name]Evie[/name]”
Adalind
[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name] (not sure if this is really FN material or not, but I do really love it)
[name]Georgia[/name]/[name]Georgiana[/name] (more MN material if anything–I’ve really been thinking about [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Georgia[/name] ____ lately…)
I’m not sure I’m ready to give up [name]Eva[/name] as a FN yet, but these have really been growing on me. [name]Catherine[/name] is the original form of my mom’s name, and Adalind/[name]Adelaide[/name] would honor my [name]German[/name] roots.
Also, this is more curiosity than anything, but I’ve always really loved [name]Zoe[/name] as a MN, and I’ve lately been wanting to use it that way on my list–what FN(s) do you like paired with the MN [name]Zoe[/name]?
[name]Catherine[/name] “[name]Kit[/name]/[name]Kitty[/name]” I love this, I think [name]Kitty[/name] would be a cute nickname when she is young and then she can grow into the more matured [name]Cate[/name] and [name]Catherine[/name]. I love the C- version of [name]Catherine[/name], it seems to fit better with the meaning - pure.
[name]Genevieve[/name] - I would prefer [name]Eve[/name] or [name]Eva[/name], [name]Genevieve[/name] seems like a mouthfull and it just doesn’t roll of the tongue. [name]Evie[/name] is adorable.
Adalind - I feel like it’s supposed to be [name]Adeline[/name] or [name]Adalyn[/name], I would prefer either of those.
[name]Adelaide[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this so much. I’m from the states and I never hear it!! I would love to meet an [name]Adelaide[/name]. ately
[name]Hazel[/name] - Adorable, it could totally work as a first name. [name]Love[/name] it!!!
[name]Georgia[/name]/[name]Georgiana[/name] - I like [name]Georgia[/name] a lot better than [name]Georgiana[/name]. [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Georgia[/name] is great and so is [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]!
Unfortunately, I can’t think of any first names to go with [name]Zoe[/name] at the moment (brain fart)…but [name]Zoe[/name] as a first name would sound great with pretty much all of the names you listed.
[name]Catherine[/name] “[name]Kit[/name]/[name]Kitty[/name]” --[name]Catherine[/name] is pretty and timeless, [name]Kit[/name] is adorable, but I would definitely shy away from [name]Kitty[/name] for it’s “less politically correct” synonym…
[name]Genevieve[/name] “[name]Evie[/name]” – This is pretty. Another fun take on this could be Jenavi or Genevi
Adalind – I haven’t seen this variation before. I like it… it’s more unqiue than [name]Adaline[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name] – Another pretty choice. I have no connotations with this name, but I like the way it sounds
[name]Hazel[/name] – While this sounds like an “older” name, I knew a young [name]Hazel[/name] and she was awesome. She made the name grow on me for sure.
[name]Georgia[/name]/[name]Georgiana[/name] – This sounds a little redneck to me. Sorry!!
[name]Catherine[/name] is an absolute favorite of mine, much prefer it to [name]Katherine[/name], and wish it didn’t sound so hideous in Spanish because I would use it.
[name]Genevieve[/name] I like with the French pronunciation. Since I doubt most people in the US would say it like that… it loses its appeal to me.
I prefer [name]Adelaide[/name] to Adalind. Adalind looks unfinished. [name]Adelaide[/name] is pretty though.
[name]Hazel[/name]. I can’t like it. It’s what people call my dad because they can’t pronounce his name correctly and he HATES that so this name loses all appeal to me. That said, there’s nothing WRONG with it, I just don’t like it as much as your other choices.
[name]Georgiana[/name] all the way! Like it better than [name]Georgia[/name]. All I can see is Mr. [name]Darcy[/name] introducing his little sister. And P&P is amazing.
[name]Catherine[/name]- lovely, sweet and classic It’s hard to go wrong.
[name]Genevieve[/name]- I like it and I know you love it!
Adalind- unusual but feminine and pretty. very [name]German[/name] feel
[name]Adelaide[/name]- one of my favourites of the less common classics (as in not [name]Mary[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], etc.)
[name]Hazel[/name]- totally vintage chic
[name]Georgia[/name]/[name]Georgiana[/name]- love both, but definitely prefer [name]Georgiana[/name]. it’s beautiful yet innocent I love the P&P connection (it’s one of my favourite books)
I don’t like [name]Zoe[/name] as a name but assuming you’re pronouncing it zo-ee, I like [name]Hannah[/name] [name]Zoe[/name] (and [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Zoe[/name], but that’s pretty tied to the stylist).
[name]Catherine[/name] “[name]Kit[/name]/[name]Kitty[/name]” – I love elegant [name]Catherine[/name]! If it honors your mother, that’s fabulous!
[name]Genevieve[/name] “[name]Evie[/name]” – Gorgeous!
Adalind - Prefer just [name]Ada[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name] - I like it!
[name]Hazel[/name] - I’d enjoy meeting a young [name]Hazel[/name].
[name]Georgia[/name]/[name]Georgiana[/name] - [name]Both[/name] of these are quite high on my list of favorites. [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Georgia[/name] ____ is lovely. [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] comes to mind.
[name]Eva[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it! It’s one of my Ultra-[name]Favorite[/name] names!!!
[name]Zoe[/name] is not a favorite of mine, but [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Zoe[/name] are quite nice.
[name]Adelaide[/name] is my absolute favourite of your new crushes! I think it’s just gorgeous and I think it’s great that it honours your mom too. [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Georgia[/name] is adorable, maybe something like [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Lark[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Wren[/name] or [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Olive[/name] would be beautiful.
[name]Georgia[/name] is very common in the UK so it’s never really appealed to me as a first name, although it does make a lovely middle name.
[name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Catherine[/name] are two names that I’ve never really liked. I can see the appeal of [name]Genevieve[/name] but [name]Catherine[/name] is so plain and dull. It doesn’t help that the only [name]Catherine[/name]'s I’ve ever known weren’t the most exciting people to be around.
I love, love, love [name]Catherine[/name], and [name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Georgiana[/name] are both gorgeous. The other names aren’t really my style.
As for using [name]Zoe[/name] as a middle name, I’ve actually been thinking about that lately. [name]Zoe[/name] is my all-time favorite name, but my husband will only agree to it as a middle name option (for now – I’m still working on him!). At the moment, my top choice is actually [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Zoe[/name], combining my two favorite names. I love that together the names mean “pure life”. I also really like [name]Veronica[/name] [name]Zoe[/name], [name]Anastasia[/name] [name]Zoe[/name], and [name]Alexandra[/name] [name]Zoe[/name]. I kinda like [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Zoe[/name] as well, but I think it might be a little heavy on the “z” sound. I think [name]Zoe[/name] tends to pair best with long, multi-syllabic names. From your current top ten, I really like [name]Liliana[/name] [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Zoe[/name].
lol, no, sorry, [name]Catherine[/name] honors my mom (first name [name]Karen[/name]), not [name]Adelaide[/name]. [name]Adelaide[/name] wouldn’t even be a nod to her, as my dad has the [name]German[/name] roots.
Honestly, if any of these get added to my list, it’d likely be [name]Adelaide[/name] or [name]Catherine[/name]–I still really love [name]Eva[/name], but my difficulties pairing it up are making me have doubts (and making [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Catherine[/name] more appealing!).
[name]Catherine[/name] “[name]Kit[/name]/[name]Kitty[/name]” - I like [name]Catherine[/name], but I’m not a fan of [name]Kit[/name] or [name]Kitty[/name] as nns. To me they seem a weird mix of childish and weird middle aged lady.
[name]Genevieve[/name] “[name]Evie[/name]” - Like it.
Adalind - It’s ok.
[name]Adelaide[/name] - Like a lot, only thing I don’t like is that she would more than likely be another [name]Addie[/name].
[name]Hazel[/name] - [name]Love[/name]!
[name]Georgia[/name]/[name]Georgiana[/name] - [name]Georgia[/name] (prefer this) grew on me a lot after a family member named their daughter this. She is adorable!
As for names with [name]Zoe[/name], I think [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Zoe[/name] are the best fits.
I had been thinking about this. I don’t mind [name]Addy[/name] (prefer this spelling, though)–I actually quite love it–but I’m not sold on it for [name]Adelaide[/name]. It seems to lump it in more with the trendier [name]Addison[/name] and [name]Adelyn[/name] (both of which I like, but I like [name]Adelaide[/name] because it’s not so trendy). I have been wondering which nn I’d use. I’d heard [name]Adele[/name]/[name]Adela[/name], [name]Dell[/name]/[name]Della[/name], Lady, [name]Ada[/name], Elaida, [name]Aida[/name] (ah-EE-dah), etc., all of which are out for some reason or another, although I do quite love [name]Adele[/name] on its own.
The one option I sort of love is [name]Adie[/name] (AY-dee)–I came across it years ago and find it a bit whimsical and feminine, very pretty but also cute. I just don’t know if [name]Arianne[/name] (nn [name]Ari[/name]) and [name]Adelaide[/name] (nn [name]Adie[/name]) would be too close, as well… Plus, I’m just not sold on [name]Adie[/name] for me, even though I do like it.
Am I missing an amazing alternate nn? At this point, I’m between [name]Addy[/name] and [name]Adie[/name].
Also, one I had forgot to include earlier–I am really loving [name]Cara[/name] lately, too. Thoughts on it? Does it need a fuller name? I think a fuller name would work better on my list, but I like it fine on its own.
Unfortunately, I love [name]Caroline[/name], but only as a MN, and [name]Carolina[/name] is too exotic/place-name for me lately.
I don’t think you should give up [name]Eva[/name], it’s (in my opinion) the best name on your list. And I do like [name]Cara[/name], it’s sweet and beautiful.
[name]Catherine[/name] “[name]Kit[/name]/[name]Kitty[/name]” - I do like [name]Catherine[/name], it’s very pretty and with nn [name]Kit[/name]/[name]Kitty[/name] it becomes sweet almost. [name]Catherine[/name] is still very Wuthering Heights to me, not that that’s a bad thing.
[name]Genevieve[/name] “[name]Evie[/name]” - I think this is bland and dull and boring. Especially compared to stunning [name]Eva[/name].
Adalind - Boring compared to [name]Adelaide[/name].
[name]Adelaide[/name] - This is very pretty. I like it more than Adalind. Nn [name]Ada[/name], [name]Dell[/name], [name]Delia[/name] (Laide)?
[name]Hazel[/name] - Cute as a button. I like [name]Hazel[/name] very much. Fresh and naturish.
[name]Georgia[/name]/[name]Georgiana[/name] - [name]Georgiana[/name] is very classic and pretty. Prefer this to [name]Genevieve[/name].
If I were you I would ditch [name]Liliana[/name], [name]Isabelle[/name] & [name]Violet[/name] and add [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Catherine[/name] & [name]Cara[/name].
[name]Catherine[/name] “[name]Kit[/name]/[name]Kitty[/name]” - I like it well enough. It’s a solid classic. I love [name]Kit[/name] and [name]Kitty[/name] as nicknames.
[name]Genevieve[/name] “[name]Evie[/name]” - [name]Love[/name] [name]Evie[/name] as a nn, but dislike [name]Genevieve[/name].
Adalind - Sounds pretty, but be aware that it’s the name of an evil character on the TV series Grimm.
[name]Adelaide[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this.
[name]Hazel[/name] (not sure if this is really FN material or not, but I do really love it) - [name]Love[/name] this.
[name]Georgia[/name]/[name]Georgiana[/name] - Very pretty.
Ahh, right, I completely forgot about that. That’s actually where I first heard it, but I only got a few episodes into Grimm before giving it up, so I don’t even make the connection. I think I really only saw her in one episode, so I didn’t really know how bad she ever got. [name]Do[/name] you think it’d be that strong of a connection? I find myself more attached to [name]Adelaide[/name], anyway, but I do like the name. I think most would mistake it for [name]Adelyn[/name]/[name]Adalyn[/name] anyway…
[name]Catherine[/name] - [name]Love[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]! I like [name]Kate[/name] better as the NN but you cannot go wront
[name]Genevieve[/name] “[name]Evie[/name]” - [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]!
Adalind - I am not sure about this one but [name]Addie[/name]/[name]Ada[/name] would be adorable NNs
[name]Adelaide[/name] - You know how much I love this one! [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Georgia[/name] is stunning!
[name]Hazel[/name] - This one has grown on me a lot but I am still not 100% sold
[name]Georgia[/name]/[name]Georgiana[/name] - I like them both a lot, [name]Georgiana[/name] would work better as a FN to me especially on your list but both are great
It is to me. I can’t think of another cultural association for the name other than that one. I think [name]Adelaide[/name] is a much stronger name. Very pretty!
