[name]Hi[/name] guys I was just looking at some boy names that at first I didn’t like. Now they are starting to grow on me. I was just wondering what you guys thought of them?
[name]Fergus[/name] is alright. VERY Scottish. I think it would be cute on a little guy, but sounds serious enough for a man. I think this one is my favourite from your list.
[name]Basil[/name] is very quirky, but I think you could probably get away with it. The only [name]Basil[/name] I know is 70, an architect, and British. And the sweetest old man ever! So, I personally have a good association with the name.
[name]Huxley[/name] is interesting…Hux would be a great nn.
I don’t particularly like any of the others, though both of those long, Biblical-sounding Z names are interesting, and could make great middles. I just think they’re too hefty as first names.
These I wouldn’t use, and don’t like (sorry!):
[name]Danger[/name]…seems like an awfully burdensome label to stick a child with
[name]Eero[/name]…[name]Arrow[/name] could be a really cool middle name, but [name]Eero[/name] is going to cause confusion!
[name]Cinna[/name]…mon? [name]Cinnamon[/name] buns?
[name]Delias[/name]…looks like the plural of [name]Delia[/name], and also I’m not 100% on the pronunciation…[name]Dee[/name]-lie-us? Duh-lie-us? Dealy-iss?
[name]Django[/name]…I don’t get this one.
As for names I used to dislike and now love:
[name]Jane[/name]…I used to think it was too plain, but now quite like the idea of it as a first name for a little girl.
[name]Callum[/name]…I used to HATE this name (can’t remember why) but now it’s near the top of my boy’s list, and my partner loves it too.
I don’t think any of those except for [name]Cinna[/name], and maybe [name]Fergus[/name] are usable. [name]Basil[/name] is usable too, but the rest I don’t think are.
Honestly… I don’t like any of them. The most usable are Zebadiah, [name]Basil[/name] and [name]Fergus[/name] (maybe). The rest are too weird, confusing, or just… not names to me ([name]Danger[/name]???).
[name]Zedekiah[/name] and [name]Zebediah[/name] are my favourites, but I like Z’s and Biblical names, so. I like [name]Zed[/name] and [name]Zeb[/name] as nicknames, but I prefer [name]Zebulon[/name] to either, honestly.
[name]Danger[/name] is the MN of a guy I know, and he hates it.
I like [name]Basil[/name] pretty well. That’d be my pick after the Zs. [name]Huxley[/name] is interesting but I’m not really into surname-names.
