Thoughts on these names?

I just got a positive the other day, and while it’s still very early, I’m already thrilled!
My husband and I have had a hard time finding names we both like, and I would love some feedback on our list.

[name_f]Daria[/name_f] [name_f]Peridot[/name_f] - This is my favorite combo. [name_f]Daria[/name_f] is Russian and has special meaning to us, and we love that [name_f]Peridot[/name_f] derives from the Arabic word faridat, meaning “gem”. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it would be strange to have three daughters with -a ending names and one with a consonant-ending name?

[name_f]Yasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Zuleika[/name_f] - We both love it but it feels very Arabic, and unfortunately, I don’t really speak Arabic.

[name_f]Noor[/name_f] [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] - My husband’s favorite. [name_f]Noor[/name_f] is definitely very elegant and easy to pronounce for our multicultural family. I also love that it doesn’t end in -a. [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] is a Russian beauty. My daughters love the animated film and I thought it would be a cute bonus tie.

[name_f]Noemi[/name_f] [name_f]Zahra[/name_f] - [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] seems perfect for us but I don’t love it as much as [name_f]Daria[/name_f]. However, my husbands adores it and prefers it to [name_f]Daria[/name_f]. [name_f]Zahra[/name_f] is an honor name, I think it’s very spunky and goes well with [name_f]Noemi[/name_f].

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] - I saw [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] in someone’s signature and fell in love. It’s gorgeous and stylish but we have no [name_m]French[/name_m] heritage, would it be strange on a non-[name_m]French[/name_m] girl? [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] is a long-time favorite of mine that feels too matchy as a first name.

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Almira[/name_f] - This one is our safe option. I like it quite a lot but I’m not crazy about it. I know the loveliest [name_f]Almira[/name_f] but is it too close to [name_u]Amal[/name_u]?

[name_f]Coral[/name_f] [name_f]Zafira[/name_f] - My second favorite. I love jewel and gemstone names, and [name_f]Coral[/name_f] just feels very “us”. I posted a thread about it, and one of the nameberries pointed out that [name_f]Zafira[/name_f] is a car brand??? I have never heard of it but it still bothers me. Some other middle name options are [name_f]Zenobia[/name_f], [name_f]Rania[/name_f], [name_f]Renata[/name_f] and [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f].

[name_f]Imani[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] - [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is a family name for DH. I don’t really like it but I think it would be fair if we honored his family too. Another option is [name_f]Louise[/name_f]/[name_f]Louisa[/name_f].

Our list is very eclectic because this baby has [name_m]German[/name_m], English, Jewish, Egyptian and Lebanese heritage. We live in an English-speaking country but used to live in [name_f]Russia[/name_f] for work, hence the Russian names.

[name_f]Daria[/name_f] [name_f]Peridot[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Daria[/name_f], especially because it can lead to [name_f]Dasha[/name_f]! Nice choice. [name_f]Peridot[/name_f] is certainly unusual, but putting it in the middle makes it much more wearable. I don’t think the -a ending would be strange in your sibset because the three -a names are otherwise quite different (it’s not like having [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Mila[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], and [name_f]Kayla[/name_f], for example.)

[name_f]Yasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Zuleika[/name_f] - Very pretty, but the not speaking Arabic thing is definitely a drawback.

[name_f]Noor[/name_f] [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] - This seems like a really good option for you! It flows great, as well.

[name_f]Noemi[/name_f] [name_f]Zahra[/name_f] - Gorgeous. I too prefer [name_f]Daria[/name_f] to [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] ever so slightly, but this one has a great balance and seems meaningful.

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] - [name_f]Lovely[/name_f]. I do think [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] might be odd on a non-[name_m]French[/name_m] girl, but names are more global than ever these days. Is there any particular reason why [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] seems too matchy to you? To me it sounds kind of perfect with your other kids’ names.

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Almira[/name_f] - This one feels underwhelming compared to the others, but I don’t think [name_f]Almira[/name_f] is too close to [name_u]Amal[/name_u], especially when they’re both middles.

[name_f]Coral[/name_f] [name_f]Zafira[/name_f] - Not usually a fan of [name_f]Coral[/name_f], but these go wonderfully together. I hadn’t heard of [name_f]Zafira[/name_f] being a car and don’t think it’s an issue since it’s in the middle spot.

[name_f]Imani[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] - I don’t like that they’re both three syllables, so I’d probably switch to [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. It’s a fine combo, though.

Really nice list overall! Seems like your family’s ancestry and history makes for some really beautiful combos.

I love [name_f]Daria[/name_f] [name_f]Peridot[/name_f], it’s very striking. Definitely my favorite from your list.

You have a lot of fun and interesting options!

[name_f]Daria[/name_f] [name_f]Peridot[/name_f] - [name_f]Daria[/name_f] isn’t my favorite in terms of sound but it’s nice if you like it. The [name_f]Peridot[/name_f] combo is cool. Three -a names are fine I think since the names all share an international feel and [name_f]Daria[/name_f] is three syllables like [name_f]Mariam[/name_f]. I also think [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] or [name_f]Dalia[/name_f]/[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] would be nice for you.

[name_f]Yasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Zuleika[/name_f] - Pretty, maybe it would feel more you with a different middle? [name_f]Yasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] or [name_f]Yasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] might work. [name_f]Yasmine[/name_f] used to bug me because of the birth control but it has grown on me. I do know a few Yasmines my age, I wonder if it is dated for Arabic speakers?

[name_f]Noor[/name_f] [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] - My favorite too. Dramatic and very pretty.

[name_f]Noemi[/name_f] [name_f]Zahra[/name_f] - [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] is gorgeous, this is a nice combo too. [name_f]Zuleika[/name_f] or Zefira could work in the middle too.

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] - Not a fan of [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] and it feels a bit out of place next to your other kids. I’m from the US and it always makes me think of Nanook of the [name_u]North[/name_u].

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Almira[/name_f] - Agree it’s a little less exciting than some of the others. Maybe [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Aviva[/name_f]?

[name_f]Coral[/name_f] [name_f]Zafira[/name_f] - Not a fan of [name_f]Coral[/name_f], I think maybe it’s too similar to [name_f]Chrystal[/name_f]? I’ve never heard of [name_f]Zafira[/name_f], I think it’s fine to use.

[name_f]Imani[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] - I like this. [name_f]Diana[/name_f] isn’t my favorite but it works here and I like the goddess association and an honor name is nice.

[name_f]Daria[/name_f] [name_f]Peridot[/name_f] - Not my favorite combo of yours, but [name_f]Peridot[/name_f] is an interesting middle. I think a endings are common enough in girls names for it to not really matter.

[name_f]Yasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Zuleika[/name_f] - This is a pretty combo, it is very arabic, but I’m not sure it’s such a big deal that you don’t speak the language. [name_f]Jasmin[/name_f] [name_f]Zuleika[/name_f] or [name_f]Yasmin[/name_f] [name_f]Zenobia[/name_f] maybe?

[name_f]Noor[/name_f] [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] - Oh, I really love this one! So pretty. (Also a big lover of the [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] movie over here. :p)

[name_f]Noemi[/name_f] [name_f]Zahra[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Zahra[/name_f], but I’ve never been able to get with [name_f]Noemi[/name_f].

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] - Loving the alliteration here, I think [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] fits with your girl’s names. And I love the edge that [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] adds.

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Almira[/name_f] - It does seem a bit mellow, but still nice. I think it’s fine with [name_u]Amal[/name_u].

[name_f]Coral[/name_f] [name_f]Zafira[/name_f] - I like it in theory, but it kind of seems like [name_f]Coral[/name_f] is describing [name_f]Zafira[/name_f]. [name_f]Safira[/name_f] is another option if you do want to get away from the car connection (which I know nothing about, but I think it’s a European thing?)

[name_f]Imani[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] - Also feels “safe”, but it’s not bad. I prefer [name_f]Imani[/name_f] [name_f]Diane[/name_f] or [name_f]Imani[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f].

Also really loving [name_u]Ariel[/name_u] Iskandar in your sig!

I adore [name_f]Daria[/name_f] [name_f]Peridot[/name_f]! Beautifully constructed and I appreciate it’s significance to you. This name really knocks it out of the park. I think I would also like the combination of [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] [name_f]Peridot[/name_f] if your partner isn’t totally thrilled with [name_f]Daria[/name_f].

[name_f]Noor[/name_f] [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] is very elegant and seems to fit your family and is loved by both parents which makes it a definite winner.

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Almira[/name_f] is gorgeous, and while there definitely is some similarity between [name_f]Almira[/name_f] and [name_u]Amal[/name_u], it’s not necessarily a deal breaker. I see one of your daughter’s has the mn [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], and another has the fn [name_f]Mariam[/name_f], which leads me to think that a little bit of repetition in sound parts works fine in your sibset.

[name_f]Coral[/name_f] [name_f]Zafira[/name_f] is lovely and a great combo but doesn’t seem to be as fitting in your sibset as some of your other options.

[name_f]Imani[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is another one I really like! I do think that [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] absolutely works as a middle if your don’t feel in love with [name_f]Diana[/name_f].

The names from your list I don’t particularly care for are [name_f]Yasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Zuleika[/name_f], [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] [name_f]Zahra[/name_f], and [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Aviva[/name_f], primarily because I’m just not thrilled with the mn choices on these but also I think you have some better fn options on your list for your sibset. [name_f]Yasmine[/name_f] and [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] both feel a little out of place beside [name_f]Una[/name_f], [name_f]Mariam[/name_f], and [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. [name_f]Coral[/name_f] also seems not quite a perfect fit.

My favorite potential first names from your list would be [name_f]Noor[/name_f], [name_f]Noemi[/name_f], and [name_f]Imani[/name_f].

I really love your daughter’s names! My favorite of your options is [name_f]Daria[/name_f]. I knew a young [name_f]Daria[/name_f] and really loved the name on her, and it is great with your sibset. My second favorite for you is [name_f]Noemi[/name_f], but [name_f]Daria[/name_f] grabs me a little more. Good luck!

Paridot is amazing, and I think both [name_f]Daria[/name_f] [name_f]Peridot[/name_f] and [name_f]Noor[/name_f] [name_f]Peridot[/name_f] are just amazing. [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] [name_f]Zuleika[/name_f] is stunning, too. Such a great list.

[name_f]Daria[/name_f] [name_f]Peridot[/name_f] - I love both names individually but when said aloud it becomes really unfamiliar sounding. There are too many hard consonants - d,p,d and both names have “aw” sounds plus an ‘r’ in the middle… It’s almost like one long strange word. I suggest [name_f]Daria[/name_f] [name_f]Yasmine[/name_f]

[name_f]Yasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Zuleika[/name_f] - Yes it feels Arabic. I don’t care for the ‘z’ sounds in both names. [name_f]Yasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Daria[/name_f] would be pretty.

[name_f]Noor[/name_f] [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] - very beautiful.

[name_f]Noemi[/name_f] [name_f]Zahra[/name_f] - this is also very beautiful.

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] - this seems a bit overdramatic

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Almira[/name_f] - What about [name_f]Alma[/name_f], or just [name_f]Mira[/name_f]? I dislike [name_f]Almira[/name_f].

[name_f]Coral[/name_f] [name_f]Zafira[/name_f] - [name_f]Coral[/name_f] is a great name. [name_f]Coral[/name_f] [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] would be pretty.

[name_f]Imani[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] - I don’t care for [name_f]Imani[/name_f], and have always liked [name_f]Diana[/name_f] as a first name.

[name_u]LOVE[/name_u]
[name_f]Noor[/name_f] [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]
[name_f]Noemi[/name_f] [name_f]Zahra[/name_f]
[name_f]Coral[/name_f] [name_f]Zafira[/name_f]

Thanks a bunch, ladies!

@geeknamezyo: Haha, I’m glad you like our family names. Nice to meet another [name_f]Daria[/name_f] lover, too! And [name_f]Aviva[/name_f]…well, it was on the list when I was pregnant, and it has always seem perfect to me, too good to be true. Is it weird? I know it is, haha. I’m just very indecisive.

@moonstone: Thanks, I love it too!

@sarah1800: [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] is already on the list but we have never considered [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]! It’s so pretty. I like [name_f]Yasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Aviva[/name_f], too. And you honestly made me laugh with [name_f]Anouk[/name_f]-Nanook - I would never have thought of that!

@jalila13: Thank you! I love the suggestion of [name_f]Yasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Zenobia[/name_f]. And it’s so nice you like [name_u]Ariel[/name_u] Iskandar! I see you’re a fellow [name_m]Mikhail[/name_m] fan, too.

@brittanyanitarose: Thank you! You won’t believe it but the [name_f]Rose[/name_f]mary - [name_f]Mar[/name_f]iam
repetition wasn’t intentional - I have never noticed it, actually! We just happen to really like these names.

@erin beth: Thanks, glad to see some [name_f]Daria[/name_f] love!

@coddiwomple & @anyagreenwich: Thank you both so much!

I absolutely adore [name_f]Daria[/name_f] [name_f]Peridot[/name_f], [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] [name_f]Zahra[/name_f] and [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Aviva[/name_f]! when I close my eyes and say the names aloud these things come to mind:

[name_f]Daria[/name_f] [name_f]Peridot[/name_f] - water, tranquility, colour blue, music, nature magic

[name_f]Noemi[/name_f] [name_f]Zahra[/name_f] - attitude, fire and lava, heat, colours red, orange and yellow

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] - mysticism, dance, movement, colours violet and dark blue, happiness

My favorite is [name_f]Noor[/name_f] [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]. I think it matches your other daughters names really well, and has a beautiful flow. It seems to tick all the boxes.
