[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]
[name_f]Delia[/name_f]
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] – pronunciation issues?
[name_f]Rowena[/name_f]
[name_f]Valerie[/name_f]
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]- I love this unexpected flower name.
[name_f]Delia[/name_f]- I love [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] and I loved shopping for clothes at [name_f]Delia[/name_f]'s in the 90s (so cool) but i don’t love [name_f]Delia[/name_f]. It still reads cool to me though.
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f]- no pronunciation issues, but not my favorite name. It reminds me of Something Wicked this [name_m]Way[/name_m] Comes, which isn’t a bad book.
[name_f]Rowena[/name_f]- I really like this name.
[name_f]Valerie[/name_f]- seems dated, and not ready for revival.
I love all but [name_f]Valerie[/name_f]. I think maybe it needs another generation to revive it. Right now it just feels like a leftover name from the 80s. Without that association, it’s a lovely name. Similar to [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f]…a lovely name but stuck in the 80s right now.
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] and [name_f]Delia[/name_f] are sweet and feminine and recognizable but not overused.
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] is one of my top guilty pleasure names. I’d be delighted to meet a little [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] in real life. One of my rules for using a name for a real child of mine is that they can’t be given a common nickname, so sadly [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] isn’t one that followed my rule. The nickname [name_f]Callie[/name_f] is cute, but my thought process is why give someone an awesome unique name if it can just be shortened to something common and unremarkable? But I know I’m not in the majority with that kind of thinking.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] but it’s hard to picture on a little girl, easy to picture on an adult.
Thank you for your thoughtful answers, Berries!
