I think these topics are quite fun for me! I never really see these names being discussed anywhere and I was just curious what impressions people had of them. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like them? Why or why not? What kind of vibes do they give you? I’m not considering them for myself, but just curious!
[name_f]Moira[/name_f]
[name_f]Charisma[/name_f]
[name_f]Cindy[/name_f]
[name_u]Jeanne[/name_u]
[name_m]Benito[/name_m]
[name_m]Preston[/name_m]
[name_u]Sean[/name_u] / [name_u]Shawn[/name_u] / [name_u]Shaun[/name_u]
[name_m]Zachary[/name_m]
[name_f]Moira[/name_f] - it does have an interesting sound, but it reminds me of the word moist and it’s not a vibe
[name_f]Charisma[/name_f] - kind of sparky and fun. I think it would make a very cool middle, or a character name - or, a nickname (Charis Matilda/Carys [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]? [name_f]Chiara[/name_f] Ismay?)
[name_f]Cindy[/name_f] - it has dated charm - I don’t mind it - kind of gives the imagery 70s/80s movies?
[name_u]Jeanne[/name_u] - is this Jee-ann? Jeen? I think my problem with it is that I prefer the similar [name_f]Jeanie[/name_f], [name_f]Jeanette[/name_f], or [name_u]Jean[/name_u]?
[name_m]Benito[/name_m] - zippy and cool but also Mussolini
[name_m]Preston[/name_m] - not my favourite sound
[name_u]Sean[/name_u] / [name_u]Shawn[/name_u] / [name_u]Shaun[/name_u] - a solid name, but also very sheepy
[name_m]Zachary[/name_m] - quite a cheerful name - sharp and sporty, but friendly too

[name_f]Moira[/name_f] ~ never much liked it, only positive association is [name_f]Wendy[/name_f] [name_f]Moira[/name_f] [name_f]Angela[/name_f] [name_f]Darling[/name_f]
[name_f]Charisma[/name_f] ~ hmm, it’s a lovely word but quite a lot to burden a kid with imho
[name_f]Cindy[/name_f] ~ very much the doll to me, I had an ice skating one who was very cool so in my mind [name_f]Cindy[/name_f] =

[name_u]Jeanne[/name_u] ~ my instinct is to say it zhaun like the [name_u]French[/name_u] but that could be wrong!
[name_m]Benito[/name_m] ~ totally Mussolini I’m afraid
[name_m]Preston[/name_m] ~ very preppy
Sean/Shaun/Shawn ~ [name_u]Sean[/name_u] [name_u]Bean[/name_u], [name_u]Shaun[/name_u] the Sheep, my friend’s elderly [name_u]Irish[/name_u] dad
[name_m]Zachary[/name_m] ~ zippy and cool!
Fun
Sorry if I’m harsh
[name_f]Moira[/name_f] - I don’t know how to explain it, but it just doesn’t sounds stunning. Also thinking about the Moirai
[name_f]Charisma[/name_f] - I don’t love word names in general, but this is such a name to carry
[name_f]Cindy[/name_f] - cute, but dated. [name_f]My[/name_f] sis had a [name_f]Barbie[/name_f] named [name_f]Cindy[/name_f] and she had a twin Mirelle🎀
[name_u]Jeanne[/name_u] - Reminds me of the [name_u]French[/name_u] word ‘le chien’ - dog. I just don’t love the sound. Other than that, Rococo vibes
[name_m]Benito[/name_m] - Mussolini, but other that that it has a cute sound. Too cute, It’s giving the same vibe as [name_m]Pepito[/name_m] and Pocoloco
[name_m]Preston[/name_m] - I don’t love the name, but it sounds like a handsome arrogant preppy guy who’s parents have a mansion in the Hamptons.
[name_u]Sean[/name_u] - handsome as in ‘your best friends hot dad’
[name_u]Shawn[/name_u] - [name_m]Just[/name_m] don’t love it
[name_u]Shaun[/name_u] - forever sheep vibes
[name_m]Zachary[/name_m] - thinking of ‘saccharins’. Sounds like a cool guy in his early twenties
[name_f]Moira[/name_f] - I don’t hate it, but it’s also not my favorite. The pronunciation isn’t very intuitive and it kind of feels cold and overly professional-sounding to me, not sure why.
[name_f]Charisma[/name_f] - I’d say it’s one of those virtue names that’s a little too much of a mouthful, it doesn’t feel natural to me as a name.
[name_f]Cindy[/name_f] - I like it, while most people would consider it dated I think it’s cute and spunky sounding and doesn’t feel stale at all to me.
[name_u]Jeanne[/name_u] - I really like [name_u]Jean[/name_u] and don’t mind this variant, but it’s not the spelling I’d choose.
[name_m]Benito[/name_m] - [name_f]My[/name_f] dumb American brain can’t shake the thought that it sort of sounds like a type of snack chip help- though I don’t necessarily dislike it, but something about it feels kinda off to me, I can’t put my finger on what (and no it’s not the Mussolini association). I can’t decide if I like it or not.
[name_m]Preston[/name_m] - For some reason I associate it with an annoying jock type of person, maybe I met someone like that with that name who I’m just not remembering? It has a nice sound though.
Sean/Shawn/Shaun - I feel pretty neutral about it. Nothing about it appeals to me but it’s not bad either.
[name_m]Zachary[/name_m] - I’m not a huge fan, the sound of it is a little clunky and it feels a bit too trendy for my tastes
Moira - It’s okay, but I don’t love the sound, personally. It’s got that “moist” vibe. I prefer [name_f]Maura[/name_f].
Charisma - [name_f]Charisma[/name_f] Carpenter (Cordelia in Buffy) comes to mind, though I can’t say I love this as a name.
Cindy - I think of a teenage girl in the 1970s. It sounds a bit dated nowadays.
Jeanne - I like the [name_u]Jeanne[/name_u] D’Arc (Joan of Arc) association. I do think it’s a bit confusing in [name_f]English[/name_f] though because of the different pronunciations.
Benito - Too Mussolini for me. I remember reading about an Italian fascist group who will pay money to parents who name their baby boy [name_m]Benito[/name_m] or baby girl [name_f]Rachele[/name_f] (the name of Mussolini’s wife).
Preston - I just think of the city in [name_m]Lancashire[/name_m] named [name_m]Preston[/name_m].
Sean / Shawn / Shaun - I think it’s a good name, an [name_u]Irish[/name_u] modern classic.
Zachary - Good name, familiar without being overused.
Oh yes. This is my first association too with Benito (I am Italian and I live in Italy). It is definitely off for me (like Adolf, and I certainly would not use it).
For Moira my first associations are Wendy Moira A. Darling + the Moirai (figures in Greek mythology)
Jeanne reminds me of Jeanne d’Arc. Great association.
Cindy is cool and simple and sweet.
Sean is very cool and American! I like it.
