🌈 Thoughts on these names

(My shortlist of favourite Russian names! Since I love Russian literature)

  1. Roza • Elvira • Isabella • Violetta • Frida • Daria • Susanna • (Y)eva •
  2. Ofeliya • Margarita • Laris(s)a • Eleonora • Edit(t)a • Nadezhda • Lavinia

Similar names by vibe to these above? (English, French etc names are fine too!)
Which vibe would you give this? (Both or just the first line, since the first line are my absolute favourites)

Thanks!

Bonus:
Erendira • Lusil(l)a • Emilia • Diana • Marlena

Now some questions:

Yeva or Eva?
Lusilla, Lusila, Lucille or Lucilla?
Editta or Edita or Edith?

  1. [name_f]Roza[/name_f] • [name_f]Elvira[/name_f] • [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] • [name_f]Violetta[/name_f] • [name_f]Frida[/name_f] • [name_f]Daria[/name_f] • [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] • (Y)eva •
  2. Ofeliya • [name_f]Margarita[/name_f] • Laris(s)a • [name_f]Eleonora[/name_f] • Edit(t)a • [name_f]Nadezhda[/name_f] • [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]
Overall Aesthetic: witchcraft, intellectual, old fashioned, boarding school, ballet, books, wistful, long dresses, flowers
On their own, these names bring to mind different images, so here are some things that I would group some of the names with (some will overlap in different categories):
    [name_u]Light[/name_u], flowers, fields, summer, picnic, dainty, painting, flowy dresses-- [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_f]Violetta[/name_f], [name_f]Susanna[/name_f], [name_f]Margarita[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f], [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]
    1800s, books, girl in a 19th century novel, prairie, long calico dress—Elvira, [name_f]Susanna[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f], [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]
European city girl, ballet, books, long ago, satin, velvet, mahogany wood—Roza, [name_f]Violetta[/name_f], [name_f]Daria[/name_f], Ofeliya, [name_f]Margarita[/name_f], [name_f]Larissa[/name_f], [name_f]Nadezhda[/name_f]
European farm girl, folk dresses, traditional, dances, ribbon, embroidered skirt—Frida, [name_f]Daria[/name_f], [name_f]Yeva[/name_f], Ofeliya

[name_f]Erendira[/name_f] • Lusil(l)a • [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] • [name_f]Diana[/name_f] • [name_f]Marlena[/name_f]

  1. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
  2. [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
  3. . Lusilla
  4. . [name_f]Marlena[/name_f]
  5. [name_f]Erendira[/name_f]
[name_f]Yeva[/name_f] or Eva?—Eva. Is the Y silent? In which case it looks better without. If it isn’t silent, [name_f]Yeva[/name_f] just doesn’t sound pretty to say.
Lusilla, [name_f]Lusila[/name_f], [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] or Lucilla?—Lucilla, Lusilla, [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], [name_f]Lusila[/name_f]. I think that Lusilla with an S might look better, but is a bit too made up, invented sounding.
[name_f]Editta[/name_f] or [name_f]Edita[/name_f] or Edith?—Edith, [name_f]Editta[/name_f], [name_f]Edita[/name_f]. I don’t care for [name_f]Edith[/name_f] as a name, but [name_f]Editta[/name_f] is very awkward and [name_f]Edita[/name_f] is even weirder and looks too much like the word “edit”.

  1. I love [name_f]Elvira[/name_f], [name_f]Violetta[/name_f], [name_f]Frida[/name_f] & [name_f]Susanna[/name_f].
  2. Ofeliya, [name_f]Margarita[/name_f], [name_f]Eleonora[/name_f] & [name_f]Edita[/name_f] are my favourites.

I also like [name_f]Erendira[/name_f], which is new to me, as well as [name_f]Diana[/name_f] that was already a beloved. I’d choose [name_f]Eva[/name_f], Lucille/Lucilla and Edita/Edith. I used to have [name_f]Edita[/name_f] as the name of a character in one of my stories, so I obviously love her and [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. I am not a fan of [name_f]Editta[/name_f] because I deem the extra ‘t’ unnecessary but if you wish for [name_f]Edita[/name_f] to be distinct from the word ‘edit’, I’d suggest going with [name_f]Editta[/name_f].

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites are Eh-vah (Italian/French/Spanish) and Ye-vah (Russian). I would write Ee-vuh as [name_f]Iva[/name_f] in my country.

  1. With such beautiful and unusual names in the mix, I greatly prefer the names on the top line that are less common. You don’t look at [name_f]Roza[/name_f], Evea, and [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] and think Russian literature anymore; whereas sibset [name_f]Elvira[/name_f], [name_f]Frida[/name_f] and [name_f]Violetta[/name_f], more so. [name_f]Daria[/name_f] and [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] are lovely sisters!
  2. I ADORE [name_f]Larissa[/name_f]! I love the idea of [name_f]Margarita[/name_f] and I like to drink margaritas but it’s a heavy connection. [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] is divine. [name_f]My[/name_f] great aunt, one of 13 kids/11 girls was [name_u]Essa[/name_u] [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]!

The vibe is old fashioned while forward thinking. Romantic in the way of roses, gardens, fountains, libraries, and ballet but also like the leading lady in a historical novel. The names, especially the less common ones, give a sense of parents who were educated, well read, and considerate in their naming.

[name_f]Erendira[/name_f] is divine! Lusilla too. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] has taken off, while certainly pretty in sound. [name_f]Marlena[/name_f] is underrated and [name_f]Diana[/name_f] underused at the moment considering its depth.

I like [name_f]Yeva[/name_f]! Always have. I also think [name_f]Eva[/name_f] is fantastic name; there are simply more interesting names on the list.
I’m an [name_f]Editta[/name_f] fan!

[name_f]My[/name_f] personal top 50 gets revised rather often and is usually more international in scope. Your style, without my having to put too much time into whether I get it exactly the same, is relative to mine.

Names like [name_f]Corisande[/name_f], [name_f]Galina[/name_f], [name_f]Darrah[/name_f], [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f], [name_f]Lottchen[/name_f], [name_f]Sabina[/name_f], [name_f]Saskia[/name_f], [name_f]Melisande[/name_f], [name_f]Clarimond[/name_f], [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], [name_f]Evadne[/name_f], [name_f]Mariska[/name_f], [name_f]Annesley[/name_f], [name_f]Drucilla[/name_f], [name_u]Florentine[/name_u], [name_f]Laurentina[/name_f], [name_f]Ekaterina[/name_f], [name_f]Margreth[/name_f], Eilith

You might see something from [name_u]Essa[/name_u] Lavinia’s siblings:
[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f] Orine, [name_f]Lizeth[/name_f] Deleon, Leutia [name_f]Pauline[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f], [name_f]Mariah[/name_f] [name_f]Theresa[/name_f], [name_f]Gena[/name_f] [name_f]Jewel[/name_f], [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Nancy[/name_f], [name_f]Leila[/name_f] [name_f]Alberta[/name_f]

@heartwings ah, that makes sense. I like Eh-vuh best out of those, so [name_f]Eva[/name_f] for me
