Thoughts on these names?

I never really see these names being discussed anywhere and I was just curious what impressions people had of them. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like them? Why or why not? What kind of vibes do they give you? I’m not considering them for myself, but just curious!

[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Pauline[/name_f]. I have no idea why, I just love it. The rest I don’t really feel strongly about.

[name_f]Shawna[/name_f] – I love the sound of this name, I just prefer the Seána/Seana spelling, though admittedly it makes the pronunciation less clear. It feels a little dated, but I don’t mind that.

[name_f]Pauline[/name_f] – [name_f]Pauline[/name_f] isn’t my style but I do see the appeal and would love to meet a little [name_f]Pauline[/name_f]! It does feel slightly dated to me, but I could see it coming back soon. I’ve also always had a soft spot for the similar [name_f]Paulina[/name_f].

[name_m]Misha[/name_m] – I can’t really picture this on a girl, though I know it’s unisex.

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] – Not for me. With the exception of [name_f]Amity[/name_f], virtue names like [name_f]Verity[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], etc don’t really appeal to me.

[name_f]Ginger[/name_f] – Not a fan. It feels like a nickname or stage name more than a given name to me. I feel like someone named [name_f]Ginger[/name_f] has to have a bold personality, I can’t picture a quiet or shy [name_f]Ginger[/name_f].

[name_f]Shawna[/name_f] is nice enough, it feels almost a bit… inoffensive? Maybe because it’s a bit dated, but nothing about it really stands out to me one way or another. It’s just fine!

[name_f]Pauline[/name_f] is cute!! I used to like it quite a bit, but then I heard some folks pronouncing it more like PAW-leen than paw-LEEN which I’m not as fond of  I do like [name_f]Polina[/name_f] more, but they’re both sweet, and I think [name_f]Pauline[/name_f] could have a revival soon!

I’m not sure how I feel about [name_m]Misha[/name_m] – I know it’s unisex, but it’s much more commonly used as a male name than a female one, and I do like it more on a boy! But the sound is really cool, and I’d love to meet a female [name_m]Misha[/name_m] :yellow_heart: I think for a girl I’m more into the Míša spelling which is distinctly female, but I’m sure that’s just me hahaha

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] is lovely, I’m surprised it’s not more popular !! It has the sweet, virtue name feel of [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], but the elegance of [name_f]Vera[/name_f], and regardless of actual usage it feels quite timeless to me.

[name_f]Ginger[/name_f] is okay, but I’m not fond of hair colour names, it’s the same reason why I’ve never liked [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f]. Also this is probably a niche association, but I loved the movie Chicken Run (2000) as a kid and it’s all I cant think of with this name :sob:

[name_f]Shawna[/name_f] - It’s okay, but kind of boring.
[name_f]Pauline[/name_f] - I like it. It’s a family name for me, and it’s kind of pretty even if it is dated.
[name_m]Misha[/name_m] - Is this for a boy or for a girl? I like it better for a girl but the only [name_m]Misha[/name_m] I know is a boy.
[name_f]Verity[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Verity[/name_f]! It’s so underrated.
[name_f]Ginger[/name_f] - I would like it for a cat but not a person.

[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Pauline[/name_f] and [name_f]Verity[/name_f].

[name_f]Shawna[/name_f] → it does have an interesting, earthy sort of sound, but visually, I find it less appealing and I’m not 100% sure I love the sound. I think I prefer the sharpness of the similar (but slightly different sounding) [name_f]Sian[/name_f]

[name_f]Pauline[/name_f] → a bit - dowdy - in vibe, like beige in colour - but I think at the same time, it could grow on me since I like [name_f]Paulina[/name_f]?

[name_m]Misha[/name_m] → I like how this is sweet and soft in sound, but not in a cutesy way. It’s got energy and coolness? I knew a Mishi and always thought her name was cool, so I like this too

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] → vintage vibes and a snappy sound - sweet but sharp. I like it

[name_f]Ginger[/name_f] → sound wise, I do kind of enjoy it but I think I’d use it as a nickname (probably for Ginevra) as it feels like it could fit the right personality

[name_f]Shawna[/name_f]- nice, but prefer [name_f]Shayna[/name_f]! Never met a [name_f]Shawna[/name_f] before, so definitely unique for me. Definitely picture big cities and open fields… maybe like a girl who lives in the suburbs but travels to the city for weekends!
[name_f]Pauline[/name_f]- not a fan for some reason… not sure why though, I think [name_m]Paul[/name_m] just isn’t my style. [name_f]Imagery[/name_f] is somewhat ‘little old lady who lives in a shoe’ in my mind.
[name_m]Misha[/name_m]- lovely, but I wouldn’t personally use. Reminds me of dark academia, libraries with candles and tweed
[name_f]Verity[/name_f]- makes me think of my little pony, not a bad way though! I think it’s sweet and one of a kind. Probably would like horses
[name_f]Ginger[/name_f]- used to be one of my favorite names!!! I think slowly overtime as I’ve seen lots of characters named [name_f]Ginger[/name_f] it’s become less usable for me though. Now the main connotation I have is [name_f]Ginger[/name_f], Linda’s best friend on the show Bob’s Burgers! We never see her but [name_f]Linda[/name_f] always calls her name in a true east coast accent (“Ginjaah!”)

Overall, these are lovely names even if they’re nms anymore

I love [name_f]Ginger[/name_f], very quirky vintage, old hollywood kind of vibes.
I really like [name_f]Pauline[/name_f]. I go back and forth on [name_f]Pauline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Paulina[/name_f] and am currently leaning towards [name_f]Paulina[/name_f] but its a great name. Feels similar to other popular names like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] while still be uncommon and [name_f]Polly[/name_f] or [name_f]Lina[/name_f] are cute nicknames.
[name_f]Verity[/name_f] is nice. I don’t have any strong feelings but i do wonder if people associate it with the [name_f]Colleen[/name_f] [name_m]Hoover[/name_m] book called [name_f]Verity[/name_f] since her stuff seems to be pretty popular.
I really like the sound of [name_f]Shawna[/name_f], fun retro feel, but i think i would like a different spelling better. [name_f]Shauna[/name_f]?
[name_m]Misha[/name_m] isn’t really my thing, not quite sure why. It also feels a bit nickname-y, i might like it better if it was short for something.

Shawna - I’m not a fan. I don’t really like Shawn either, I just think of Shaun the sheep :sweat_smile:

Pauline - It’s kinda cute. But I think about this coffee brand … Paulig? I don’t know why, but all Paulas and Paulinas = coffee time/ sitting in a café. This is a bit strange association, I know :joy:

Misha - a Russian nn for Mihail. Very nn for me. But also Dark Academia. I imagine he would be tall dark and handsome

Verity - I like it! I started watching Poldark and I like how this name sounds

Ginger - not my style. Kinda nicknamey, but I’m not sure how positive it is…

[name_f]Shawna[/name_f]: Down to earth and interesting

[name_f]Pauline[/name_f]: Elegant, charming, floreal

[name_m]Misha[/name_m]: Prefer on a boy; comfy and wintery

[name_f]Verity[/name_f]: Bohemien and springlike

[name_f]Ginger[/name_f]: Spunky and nicknamey

[name_f]Shawna[/name_f] ~ in general, I don’t like this name or the male counterpart. However, I did know a very adorable [name_f]Shauna[/name_f] and that’s a sure way to make me more fond of a name!

[name_f]Pauline[/name_f] ~ dislike, along with all [name_m]Paul[/name_m] related names.

[name_m]Misha[/name_m] ~ love! Back in the noughties, [name_m]Misha[/name_m] [name_m]Barton[/name_m] was all over every celeb magazine. I’d never watched the O.C. but knew who she was because her image was everywhere! Anyway, love the sounds in [name_m]Misha[/name_m] (on any gender).

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] ~ one of my favourites! [name_m]Golden[/name_m] toned and velvet textured.

[name_f]Ginger[/name_f] ~ luke warm feelings towards this name.

[name_f]Shawna[/name_f] - not a fan at all
[name_f]Pauline[/name_f] - could be cute, but just feels to old to me
[name_m]Misha[/name_m] - i believe mee-sha is the correct pronunciation, but i read it as mish-uh and i know of 3 girls named mischa (mish-uh) and so I just think of misha as a girl. i like it!
[name_f]Verity[/name_f] - cute, and like pp’s have said, i am surprised it is not more popular! don’t have strong feelings on it but do associate it with colleen hoover a bit
[name_f]Ginger[/name_f] - don’t like this name, just think of the food and hair colour!

[name_f]Shawna[/name_f] - Not something that sticks out to me a ton but I have nothing against it, it does have kind of a sweet, welcoming feel

[name_f]Pauline[/name_f] - I think I prefer [name_f]Paula[/name_f], but it’s certainly a nice name, and I really like the nickname [name_f]Paulie[/name_f]

[name_m]Misha[/name_m] - I generally think of it as a boys name, but I do like it for either gender, it feels both cute and sophisticated

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] - Not my style but I get the appeal, honestly kinda surprised it isn’t big on nameberry

[name_f]Ginger[/name_f] - I have mixed feelings since it’s a kinda rude term for people with red hair and I’d worry about teasing, disregarding that though I don’t really mind it, it has nice qualities even if it isn’t something I’d consider using

[name_f]My[/name_f] thoughts

[name_f]Shawna[/name_f] ~ personally I’m not a fan of [name_m]Sean[/name_m] style names and I find [name_f]Shawna[/name_f] a bit flat. The overall sound just doesn’t appeal to me.

[name_f]Pauline[/name_f] ~ I think [name_f]Pauline[/name_f] is on the cusp of revival feels clunky cool and nostalgic

[name_m]Misha[/name_m] ~ for a girl feels very 90s

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] ~ absolutely love [name_f]Verity[/name_f] she’s elegant, sweet and looks visually pretty a lovely virtue name.

[name_f]Ginger[/name_f] ~ ahhh gosh in theory [name_f]Ginger[/name_f] is cute but due to bullies I just couldn’t use [name_f]Ginger[/name_f]
