[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Catrina[/name_f] / [name_f]Katrina[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Gina[/name_f] / Jina / [name_f]Geena[/name_f] / [name_f]Jeena[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Mavis[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Priscilla[/name_f]

[name_f][/name_f]

Which is your fave?

[name_f]Alvina[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- can’t unsee this as [name_m]Alvin[/name_m] with an -a, sorry [name_f][/name_f] it’s actually so pretty but my brain just reads it wrong

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Blair[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- tailored, preppy, it’s growing on me over time but also it does remind me of ‘blare’

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Catrina[/name_f] / [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- prefer the C spelling for my personal taste (not a K name person in general) but also because I do think it’s still a bit iffy what with the hurricane and all. [name_f]Catriona[/name_f] is the spelling I’ve seen the most in the UK. She feels bright and sunny to me, but also put-together, like a schoolgirl with a neat ponytail.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Gina[/name_f] etc [name_f][/name_f]- of these I’d choose the [name_f]Gina[/name_f] spelling but the sound reads a little dated to me.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Mavis[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- clunky-cool, kinda medieval vibes, kinda little old lady knitting socks, kinda badass teenage girl in Docs with unexpectedly vintage name?

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Priscilla[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- very frilly, very [name_f]Presley[/name_f], not sure it’s for me

[name_f][/name_f]

Conclusion: [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] is my favourite!

[name_f]Alvina[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it either. Could definitely grow on me. Cool meaning. Is the first syllable ‘Al’ or ‘Awl’?

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Blair[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I’ve never seen the appeal of this one. It sounds inelegant, a bit too preppy, and reminds me of the word ‘blaring’.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Catrina[/name_f] / [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I like [name_f]Catrina[/name_f], though I prefer it with an extra syllable [name_f][/name_f]- [name_f]Caterina[/name_f]. There’s nothing wrong with [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] per se, but it looks harsher and seems like the name a throwaway femme fatale character would be given in a film.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Gina[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- Really like it. It seems short and stylish but substantial enough. This is the best spelling IMO.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Mavis[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- Not my style, but it has a pleasant sound and meaning.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Priscilla[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- Interesting. Again, not quite my style because I think it sounds slightly odd/frilly/soft, but if I got used to it maybe[name_f][/name_f] it could come off as gentle and hyper-feminine but substantial, kind of underused classic. I like the history behind the name.

Forgot to add, my favorite is Gina. Also, I’ve decided I like Alvina, it’s pretty & strong.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Alvina[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- nms, but would be refreshing to see in this day and age
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Blair[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- it is okay, not a fan of unisex names
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Catrina[/name_f] / [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- it is just okay
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Gina[/name_f] / Jina / [name_f]Geena[/name_f] / [name_f]Jeena[/name_f] -prefer [name_f]Gina[/name_f] spelling, just okay, kind of boring
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Mavis[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I wouldn’t use it personally but I would love to see it on someone else
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Priscilla[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- nice

[name_f]Alvina[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I’m neutral on this, as already mentioned it just feels like an even clunkier [name_m]Alvin[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Blair[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Light[/name_m] and bouncy, slightly hippie but somehow vintage-ey at the same time, I really like it

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Catrina[/name_f] / [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I like the K spelling better, but it’s all hurricane for me (not American)

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Gina[/name_f] / Jina / [name_f]Geena[/name_f] / [name_f]Jeena[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- Not a huge fan of the latter three spellings and [name_f]Gina[/name_f] feels a tad dated, although I quite like the sound

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Mavis[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- Retro-and-roller-skates kind of vibes, I like it a lot

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Priscilla[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- A bit too frilly for me

[name_f][/name_f]

Favourite: [name_f]Mavis[/name_f], but [name_f]Blair[/name_f] isn’t too far behind

[name_f]Mavis[/name_f] is my favourite [name_f][/name_f]- warm, cosy and lovely, with just a hint of magic and spark!

[name_f][/name_f]

Thoughts on the others:

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Alvina[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- somehow manages to be both clunky and sleek at the same time

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Blair[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- breezy, cool, and bright

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Catrina[/name_f] / [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I prefer the [name_f]Catrina[/name_f] spelling, partly because it looks slightly gentler and partly because of the hurricane. It’s not a personal favourite (I think partly because I like other forms better) but there is something quite precise and sharp about it

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Gina[/name_f] / Jina / [name_f]Geena[/name_f] / [name_f]Jeena[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I’d probably go with [name_f]Gina[/name_f] as that’s the one I’m most familiar with [name_f][/name_f]- unexpected and sunny with a slight international vibe.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Priscilla[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- sharp and bright

I love [name_f]Alvina[/name_f], I find it so elfin pretty, alsong with the vintage vibes. This is my favourite.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Blair[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- strongly reminds me of blare and bleh so i dont like it much. I can see how it could be cool on the right person, though.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Catrina[/name_f] is my favourite spelling, along with [name_f]Caitriona[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Gina[/name_f] is an energetic sounding name to me.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Mavis[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I keep wondering if this is going to make a comeback. It’s part sweet vintage and too bogged down in a Coronation [name_f]Street[/name_f] character association [name_f][/name_f] for me.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Priscilla[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- too ‘prissy’! Although I love [name_f]Prisca[/name_f] as a more streamlined, less frilly sound.

[name_f]Alvina[/name_f] is my favourite of the bunch, though I don’t expect many people to feel the same way. :slightly_smiling_face:

[name_f]Alvina[/name_f] → clunky and endearing at the same time; distinctly elven, yet grounded thanks to its vintage feel. A name that would be appropriate for the “noble young lady” in a historical novel.

[name_f]Blair[/name_f] → not my cup of tea, sorry! The sound is unappealing to me, and the name itself feels inexplicably… haughty, if that even makes sense?

[name_f]Catrina[/name_f]/[name_f]Katrina[/name_f] → I slightly prefer the latter spelling. A charming name, though not necessarily my favourite [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] relative. I’m particularly curious to see if/when it can recover from its association with the hurricane.

[name_f]Gina[/name_f]/[name_f]Jina[/name_f]/[name_f]Geena[/name_f]/[name_f]Jeena[/name_f] → not a personal favourite, but still a nice, simple name with very little to object to. I strongly prefer the original spelling ([name_f]Gina[/name_f]).

[name_f]Mavis[/name_f] → I fully expect this one to receive a lot of love in the coming years! Cosy and warm, with an unexpectedly fun quality.

[name_f]Priscilla[/name_f] → bright and pleasantly classic. I may slightly prefer short form [name_f]Cilla[/name_f]?

[name_f]Alvina[/name_f] → Could grow on me! [name_m]Alvie[/name_m] would be a really cute nickname.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Blair[/name_f] → I go back and forth on this one. I like the crisp, clean sounds, but I also think of the word “blare” and it loses some appeal.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Catrina[/name_f] / [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] → I have personal baggage with [name_f]Katrina[/name_f], but I don’t dislike the sounds.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Gina[/name_f] / [name_f]Jina[/name_f] / [name_f]Geena[/name_f] / [name_f]Jeena[/name_f] → [name_f]Pretty[/name_f] dated to my ears in any spelling, but [name_f]Gina[/name_f] would be my favorite.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Mavis[/name_f] → Witchy old-lady vibes (in a good way!)

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Priscilla[/name_f] → The full name has a certain charm, but the nickname [name_f]Prissy[/name_f] keeps me from loving it.

[name_f]Alvina[/name_f] → vintage and unexpected. I like that it’s distinct without being “out there” or noticeably dated. [name_m]Alvie[/name_m] is a cute nickname.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Blair[/name_f] → cool and sleek. [name_f]Blair[/name_f] feels effortlessly cool. I can never decide whether I prefer [name_f]Blair[/name_f] or [name_f]Blaire[/name_f], though [name_f][/name_f]- sometimes [name_f]Blair[/name_f] feels sleeker but other times it feels a bit incomplete.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Catrina[/name_f] / [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] → The perfect balance of familiar but underused, and with great nickname options. I worry it’s still pretty tied to the hurricane in the US, though.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Gina[/name_f] / [name_f]Jina[/name_f] / [name_f]Geena[/name_f] / [name_f]Jeena[/name_f] → I like [name_f]Gina[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- it’s retro and friendly. [name_f]Jeena[/name_f] would be my second-favorite spelling.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Mavis[/name_f] → [name_f]Vintage[/name_f] and lively. It feels sweet, sunny, and bright, but also witchy, dark academia vibes.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Priscilla[/name_f] → A little too frilly-sounding for me. I associate it with [name_f]Priscilla[/name_f] [name_f]Presley[/name_f] and a fancy mouse character that I can’t remember what is from

[name_f][/name_f]

Overall, [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] is my favorite!
